Ohio State's Fraud Schedule

Submitted by alum96 on

Easy to say in retrospect but OSU had not played a ranked team all year and only played 1 P5 team that as of tonight has a winning record...until tonight.   PSU.

Sagarin is not end all be all but look at their weak ass schedule coming into the night.  When you play creampuffs all year and then finally get someone who is in your weight class it tends to be a shock to the system.

Much like the B12 teams we mock for playing no one early, OSU was a relatively unknown quantity.

(if curious, Utah 19, MSU 21, NW 42, BYU 48 for comparison... oh and UM is 12)

Also fuck OSU.

  Sagarin
VA Tech 43
Hawaii 159
No Ill 69
WMU 73
IND 83
MD 82
PSU 39
RUT 95
MN 72
ILL 68

And no, State didn't get "lucky". Their coach had them playing hard and keeping focus for the whole game, while our coach didn't He let them lose focus for one play and it cost them a game, as any good coach should have known it could. Did State get "lucky" against Baylor, or Rutgers, or OSU? When you have to whine about their being "lucky" almost every week, year in, year out, maybe you should acknowledge that they and their coach are just better, And wow..must be nice to just "know" things, when all of the objective evidence says just the opposite. Can you give me lessons in that?

Mork needed 11 years, Harbaugh didn't even need 11 months. I wish I was as smart as you. Every time I eat foods that are grown, I will think about what a mistake we made by hiring Jim Harbaugh. Your wisdom will be added to Thursdays list that I provide my family while we feast on what you have provided. Thank you.

This is something we've known since before the season started, though. No ranked opponents until 12 weeks into the season.

In that much publicized opener, VaTech was unranked even before they lost their QB for the season. And OSU trailed at halftime in that game.

That's the fraud of the playoff "rankings". It was the potential of what they should be, and not what they actually showed, with them and that's total bullshit. No other team got that nod. Just like Florida State last year.

Not only was their schedule soft, they weren't winning those games handily like they should have. It's one thing to play nobody and win by 30 every week, but they had mostly close games. Today was a Borges like offensive performance. I think we should be favored next week.

This reminds me of Rocky III lol. OSU plays all of these weak opponents and beat their chest week after week. They play a good team that is short handed and they shit the bed.

Can be found on Eleven Warriors: "Ease up on the meltdown... no reason to let Mgoblog have a laugh."

Only schadenfreude that will be sweeter is when we whip their asses next weekend.

With the exception of Alabama last season, OSU has had the easiest schedule I have ever seen in my life. Meyer lucked into such a good situation. Easy as FUCK schedule, Braxton Miller, and NFL players all over the roster. They FINALLY play a ranked team and lose. This is a perfect example why preseason rankings are a fucking joke. OSU had the benefit of staying in the top five with a pathetic schedule simply based on last season's accomplishments. Preseason rankings should be abolished. They should eliminate the AP and coaches polls and just wait for the playoff poll halfway through the season.
