I know this probably has been in comments in other threads (didn't search) but thought it would be nice as a post for visibility.

At 10 PM last night when I checked...

Paramus, NJ 47 degree and 52% humidity

Bradenton, FL 75 degrees and 72% humidity.

I would guess that the temperature at kickoff was close to  85 degrees, I'd bet that is the warmest kickoff temperature Paramus has had all year....and is mild for what IMG is accustomed to. Obviously this has to do with conditioning...but it is hard to prepare for weather you have not been exposoed to.

Big time recruits as seniors with offers from all over aren't going to play with "motor" all game. Thy perform in bits and do well at camps. Hell, Wormley looked lazy in HS.

So maybe some truth to take the mid 4 star who has a hell of a motor and you can coach him up.  Guys putting in extra time week in and week out, pratice after practice, weight room after weight room pay off off over 4 yrs.

From my experience in other sports its a lot of headache and often not successful teaching motor to anyone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt - sometimes it takes that come to jesus moment, and sometimes even that doesnt change someone other than for a few weeks.

Generally either a kid is driven and self motivated or not.  A coach can only do so much; he can't be over his shoulder the other 7 months of the year when winners are usually working and slackers are not. Peoples Jones sounds hell motivated - I wonder if he takes drives off.  I expect Peppers was not a guy taking drives off in high school.

is that he gets doubled every game, knows he's going to go to college for free, probably already knows where he is going...so what is in it for him to have motor EVERY play. I wouldn't be concerned about his motor if he came here....if he doesn't bring it every play for Harbaugh, his ass will be on the bench! He definitely has intangibles, I thought he he looked explosively quick...looks like he needs a S&C program to help him but that' s not unusual...

Gary saw a lot of double teams tonight. Give him a year or two in our S&C program, proper nutrition and Mattison as his mentor... He'd be a beast in our rotation.

Just saw a picture on Facebook from the game tonight - Mark Messner was there with Harbaugh. I think Messner lives in the area now. Talk about a defensive lineman with a motor.

I live across the street from IMG, so I had to go right?  Had to do my part to represent.  Wife is out of town so I had to round of the 3 kiddos, get our Michigan gear on and head to the game. Michigan was so well represented with at least 100-150.  Didn't see more than 3 from any other school.

Harbaugh was taking pics and shaking hands right before kickoff - very gracious for sure. He took a pic with my boys which was really cool.  For the 1st half he split time on both sidelines. Halftime and 3rd qtr, he sat in the bleachers with his wife. Almost surreal to think about one of the most popular football coaches on the planet just sitting in the bleachers for a Friday night football game.  It is so important for him to be there to continue to build those relationships with both of these programs.

Started watching Gary closely mid-way thru 1st qtr.  His getoff is off the chart.  He looks to be in good shape and man is he super quick.  There was some mention in other comments about his motor - I'll defend him a bit here.  He played every defensive snap and spent most of the night rushing Patterson.  That is asking alot of a kid to be able to bring it every play. From what I saw, I am not worried about his motor.  He is a flat out beast.  College conditioning will be far greater than what he gets in H.S.

IMG is impressive and has major D1 talent all over the field.  The Jr. DE Kaindoh we are recruting is an impressive looking cat.  He looks the part of a big time DE.  Some comments earlier mentioned the Paramus QB looking better than Shae Patterson.  I couldn't disagree more with that.  Patterson is very good.  He looks like he has all the tools to support his lofty ranking.  Nauta had a quiet night, but certainly a very smooth natural looking TE.

Also the first time I had to pay to park at a H.S. football game!  It is quite a facility that needs to be paid for I suppose.

Most all of this is spot on with what I experienced, except the Patterson part. He has the tools, yes, but his decisions were mostly poor (recall the several very large losses he had in the first half and the very bad pick he threw). Probably a lot to do with him knowing he's very athletic and relying too much on his physical tools. Having seen other highly rated QBs at the same age, Patterson's ranking is all based on projection. The Paramus QB made good decisions all night, threw a great ball, and most importantly is only a sophomore.

I think we literally pulled into the parking lot the same time as you. You backed into a spot & had 3 kids in your SUV. Harbaugh was definitely gracious with his time with the fans. Great to see so many Michigan fans in the stands. You've got to know that word got out to the recruits how many Michigan folks were there watching. However, I've got to assume that for a school like IMG Academy, this type of thing happens at least 1-2 times per year whenever a big time program head coach comes to a game....

Yep that was me.  I don't know if the other big time head coaches sit in the bleachers with the rest of the common folk.  I thought that was really cool.  Can't picture Nick Saban or Urb hanging in the bleachers.

I would also think the recruits took notice just looking in the crowd.  Lots of maize and blue littered throughout.
