for the fact that they re-signed Dan Cleary AGAIN! All of 1 goal and 1 assist and -4 =/- last season while being hurt most the season like always and blocking younger players from opportunities. Other than that, the Red Wings have done good in the draft but terrible in free agency going back like a decade plus.

would have to describe the Lions' offense as "uncoordinated". First play on offense Ebron and Johnson(?) run routes to the same spot, several plays where guys were confused where to line up, playcalling lacking rythm and timing, pass protection mistakes, etc. Lombardi is trying to run an offense that plays to Drew Brees strengths and not Matt Stafford's. Another game like the past two and Lion's fans will have the joy of watching Dan freakin' Orlovsky again as Stafford lays in a hospital ward. It was obvious last year that Lombardi wasn't gonna hack it as an OC, but the fact the Lions made the Wild Card meant his job was safe.

and changing the offense. Linehan's offense fit what Stafford's strengths. The Saints offense does not.

Equally as bad was the Lions thinking they could replace Suh witha  decrepit Ngata, a DT from an awful Saints defense, and lower round draft picks. They also kept Mathis which was bizarre. Dude is ancient. The Lions should have spent a high round pick on a CB.Mayhew's "stay the course" offseason is blowing up in his face.

Mayhew's mistakes are costing this team dearly. He should be fired, but won't because they are the Lions.

on Mathis and it has not paid off, looks like the game has passed him by. He was actually pretty solid last year, but putting so much reliance on a 35 year old corner who has suffered 3 season-ending injuries in his career is just asking to get burned. Ngata is being asked to be more of a pass rusher, which at this stage of his career doesn't seem like the best use of his abilities.

Mayhew seems to have lacked decent backup plans when things did not go as he planned. Big failure by him.

Now its time to go back to your normal 2 to 6 wins per year and squander high draft picks. The coach is here for the long run but when we go win less in a few years, I'm sure the Lions brass will finally fire him 4 years too late!

If only the Ford family would sell this franchise to LA, so that we could start over with a new football team. I would love to rename them the Michigan Panthers, anything but Lions!
