Jake Rudock to Michigan is Official

Submitted by ryngonzalez on

Officially official, finally:

"I am excited for Jake to get here and compete with the quarterbacks that we already have in the program," assistantJedd Fisch said in the university release. "I've known Jake for a long time, since 2011, and I am excited to be a part of the staff that is now coaching him. I think that Jake brings great maturity and experience to the program. He has 25 starts under his belt in the Big Ten and a winning record of 15-10. All of that, combined with the quarterbacks we currently have in the program and all the skill we are surrounding him with, we are excited about the things that Jake can do for our program."

He has the arm for any throw but doesn't naturally feel which to throw when. At least that is what I gathered from his playing time thus far as well as the Spring Game. He was throwing pure bullets early before settling in and gaining some touch.
Jake with his experience should come right in throwing more catchable balls, allowing him to build chemistry quickly.
Shane will hopefully get this down by end of year and take the job or else next year is his year to either shine or transfer. I'd only see him transferring if he loses the job next year.

If the defense is as good as I think they might be, Jake Rudock just has to manage games, limit mistakes, and keep the defense on the sideline. Jake has some decent athleticism so extending drives should allow the offense to be fairly efficient. The offensive line seams like it should be pretty solid this year. There are a bunch of RB's that can and will contribute. We have a very solid TE. The WR's should be better by start of the season as well as getting better as the season goes on. As long as our special teams gets better, this team could be pretty darn good.

Shane starting, I hope Shane outplays him and gets the nod and takes us to good things.

I can't help but really root for the kid and his success here.

Could be an interesting situation here with a transfer potentially starting at CB, QB, and RB.  Very different then days of past.  Now we need a WR transfer to show up...
