He committed to Cal in late January. But he has never visited Michigan, so I have to think he'll stick with Cal. That would be quite a big deal to commit to a school so far that he's never seen (he's from Alabama).
Also, Michigan just offered Washington's running back. Washington was the QB, and Kingston Davis (2016) was his backfield mate.

Had comms with Kinston's dad today. Dad (LC) is a huge 'Bama fan but family is very excited by Michigan offer. Very tight military family. Sounds like they've had talks with Coach Wheatley and that's going real well. Dad was put-off by suggestions on these boards that Kingston is a fullback. Says it won't happen (FB).

He does not look like a fullback to me.

It was the day after Michigan offered ---- which was about a week and a half ago. It may have changed since then!

I think some of these guys just want to say they are still deciding so that they continue to get coverage. Then when they are asked "between whom?", they throw out one of their recent offers (i.e., Michigan).

are kids just adding Michigan to the mix to make their signing day more dramatic?

Sam Webb thinks that UM has a very slight edge in this race, FWIW.
February 3rd, 2015 at 8:12 PM ^
How can a school he's never been to have a slight edge? I hate to sound like I'm insulting this guy, but committing to a school you've never seen on signing day sounds like a high likelihood of a flame-out. I'd almost rather he go to Cal

Good thing we have such a large Adidas contract. It allows us the opportunity to donate hats for signing day "decisions" everywhere.

Are their websites just horribly out of date?

Scout says he runs a 4.3. LOL.

He hasn't been committed for a while, unless you're comparing him to Khalid Kareem. Washington committed to Cal on January 25th.

Their current committ number is 24, which would be their smallest class since 2007, also 24. Bastards. No doubt they will be picking up more tomorrow.

We need to get a pair of bad ass 2016 CBs. Top 100 types or whatever Durkin's eye says is a top 100 type. And a serious safety. All these guys are going to be playing on the 2017 defense either as true sophomore or RS FR.
Best case nickel defense I can make today in 2 years if Peppers goes pro early is:
- CB Reon Dawson
- CB Brandon Watson
- S Brian Cole
- S Ty Kinnel
- NB any 2016 CB... or current WR Ross Douglas
- Backup CB #1 Any 2016 guy
- Backup CB #2 Any 2016/2017 true freshman
- Backup S #1 Any 2016 guy
- Backup S #2 Any 2016/2017 true freshman
Iman's a pipe dream right now - the only (few) crystal ballz flipping are FSU so it looks like we are 3rd at best on his swim lanes. Williamson/Arnette/Adams misses hurt here.
We have 14 current spots in the 2016 class - with attrition I expect that to be 18ish+. There is a serious case to be made that 25%+ of our 2016 recruits will be DBs with the misses this year.
