they've actually done quite well with their Michigan kids lately. Hankins was too lazy for RR. Gholston was not worthy of an offer, IIRC. They're about to raid our Glenville of it's best player two years in a row. Krenzel was a Michigan native, IIRC. The only recent Michigan player bust I can think of is that WR from OLSM (Jackson, I think). Deer antler? ha

1.) Don't count this kid out.  We're getting major vibes from the plugged in guys that we have nothing to worry about.  I will agree that this directly conflicts with the information that's publicly available.  I'm just saying that the right people feel there's a chance.

2.) You can't blame him if he chooses OSU.  Elliott progressed last season from looking like a tentative wimp to looking like a future round 2 guy within the course of one national title winning season.  Anyone who doesn't see the appeal in that is a homer.

but I agree with #2. Now that Meyer is in the B1G & using SEC mentality, he's had a HB boon. Until osu he'd never had a 1,000 back, IIRC. Now? It seems like they run that same power sprint read for 6 a pop no matter who I'd in there. Meyer has gone a little more "hyperspread" than his UF days but that only helps in a conference that is the slowest to adapt to it. The coaching matters, too. It gives need hope now in that we should be genuinely shocked by a loss/close win to a Rutgers type in 2 years. Yet, we're going to play manball until it doesn't work (whenever that is), so is msu, wizzy, etc and osu is not only opening it up but they have a HUGE head start on us. I also can't blame him for wanting to win now rather than be the guy that restarts the culture of winning.

Not a bad pick up for Ohio State. If he sees the field he will have proven himself to be one hell of a running back. If not, well... have fun selling cars in Ohio.

Our staff, while impressive looking, has done nothing at Michigan to this point.

OTOH, OSU has yet to lose a Big Ten game, has been national championship caliber every year he's been there and just won one this year.

I don't care how Harbaugh that Harbaugh is, Ohio State looks soo much better than Michigan right now.

Brionte Dunn territory. Maybe Weber is a silent, now that would be sweet. But really if he doesn't come to UofM now that the stars are aligning up then he never was serious and he is buying jnto Meyer and his snake oil tactics, alla Dunn

He doesn't need a player that doesn't want to be at Michigan. I'm sure he will grab another RB along the way. Will he play with Kareem with his verbal?

If the young man made his decision, then he made his decision. His word is his bond and I appreciate that. A lot of great running backs have come out of OSU and Urban has that program humming. I wish him health and success regardless.

HOWEVER...I also hope and pray that his positive stats forever be a yard and TD shy of his contemporaries at the University of Michigan. OSU's strength is it's both a tempo and power team; but not every RB will be Zeke Elliot. If Mike Weber to OSU is true, then may the next highly recruited RB out of the State simply be able to point to him and say, "Go Blue."

The decision is simple: go to Michigan if you want to be a champion, or go to OSU because they were champions last year. You can be part of a team that builds a foundation, brick by brick, of and for championships - with all the satisfaction that entails (just ask Zack Novak). You can do that at the University of Michigan. Playing for Jim Harbaugh. Under an NFL staff.

Or...you can join a seemingly well-oiled machine at OSU; but one whose competition is steadily on the rise; and who has a huge scarlet target on its back.

Either program will require the best out of its players to reach its goals; so the question is, who wants it more? Whose players will outperform expectations over the next 4 years? And where will the student-athlete receive the better education: either in preparation for the NFL, scholastically, and in life?

OSU had a special season last year and their success is no fluke. You need to be talented, prepared, AND lucky to win the big prize; and fortune favors the bold. I make no predictions; but IMO, there are no better, more prepared, or bolder coaches in football - period - than Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, and Mark Dantonio. I don't think you'll see any lack of preparedness from their teams, nor any lack of intensity.

All else being equal, the decision is a personal one. Who is Mike Weber? Is he Maize & Blue or Scarlet & Gray?

With the staff that's in place now (versus Nuss and Fred Jackson), the lack of Weber won't be nearly as dramatic.  Drevno and Wheatley will convert a rotation of Tysaac, Green, Smith and Hayes into some combo of Dickerson and Sayers.  OL will be the difference, book it.

Agree, I see a better and quicker version of Barry Sanders along with a faster and stronger version of Adrian Peterson in this backfield and they'll be playing behind the Dallas Cowboy's O line from the 90s only bigger, stronger, meaner, and more athletic...LOL.

Let's see how it all develops before citing Sayers and Dickerson.

it's going to take a year just to weed out the weak, beat the sally out of them, remove any and all entitlement, change the way they think and then finally COACH THEM UP with no proven......anything. The future is bright to day the least but we do this every year when we know better. I'd be shocked if we don't start 0-1 & win more then 8 regular season games this year. We'll be more competitive, prepared, less coddled, etc. We'll get better as we go but Green is a bowling ball on chopsticks. He needs 3-4 clean yards to get moving (when he could then be Ron Dayne Jr) or he falls at the LOS so far and maybe for good. Smith is all effort but little vision or speed so far and maybe for good. Drake just destroyed his knee for the 3rd (4th?) time in a serious way. I'm not sure Issac will even be a HB, at least full time. Our OL has done exactly jack shit since '12. They'll likely all get better but it's not happening in a year. We've got the coach and staff not guarantees.

Hard to blame him for jumping off the ship when it was a dumpster fire and as much as it sucks, it's hard to fault a running back wanting to go to OSU, based off what we've seen the past few years.  Let's move on, develop the hell out of the guys on campus/want to come and results will speak for themselves.  Maybe we can do a bit of salting the earth back to Urban in return for his targetting Michigan target schools.  This is a long road we're going to be on.

I'm not going to say best of luck to the guy, but I can't say I don;t understand the decision.

I saw a pic of Weber at osu nc celebration today. Does that close the door or do we still have a chance of flipping him? I think this is a huge loss if he doesn't change his mind, but time will tell. It sucks losing an in-state guy to osu but I keep telling myself that it's better to lose a Michigan athlete to osu than to sparty. I'm probably wrong about that, but I'm sticking with it.

You guys are strange. I can't think of any other site where someone would say they are probably not going to take a visit and people are taking this as good news. People arguing about him saying think and official vs unofficial......get real people, he is not coming here. And the UM NFL staff >>>> Urban developing anybody? LOL
