Interesting and somewhat makes sense if Harbaugh has made it known he wants to come to Michigan

No way he is fired before season end.  with 5 million that could go either way...I bet they have an "understanding" in place where JH can walk after the season.  49ers don't owe him...he doesn't owe them.

Bet he is introduced to the team on Monday/Tuesday as the new coach.

This has BEEN happening since the loss to the Raidaz. JH's NFL agent Dunn & 49ers want him to stay pro so they can get something out of him.

If Harbaugh makes it clear he intends to come to Michigan rather than another NFL team then it comes down to how do the respective parties negotiate freeing themselves from the remaining year and $5 mill. As long as the Niners think they can get something for him they have zero motivation to fire him. So when/if that actually happens - then we can say IT'S HAPPENING!!!!

He's not going to hurt Michigan by waiting any longer, he just wants to finish the season.

This is obvious...we've offered him almost $50 mil, he not going to dick us around when we haven't done that to him. Beside, we're the school he loves.

He'll wait til the year is over, which has been reported by EVERYONE. Let the emotions of the year wear off, talk to his family and announce it on Monday or Tuesday.

This is such an obvious statement by Glazer it's not even funny.

I GUARANTEE that if I polled this website and said "okay, be honest and cut the jokes and the memes out for 2 seconds and give me the date you honestly feel Harbaugh is making the decision." I bet more than 75% of this board would've said 12/29 or 12/30.

If you had to put $100 of your own money on a guess, I bet that the vast majority picks a week from Monday or Tuesday. A good chunk of the rest would've picked THIS Monday or Tuesday.

He was always going to finish the season and we could list 100 reasons right now why he'd decide Sunday night - Tuesday night. The biggest reasons being, the earlier he decides the more days he has to recruit and the earlier he decides, the quicker the school he loves can move on if he does indeed spurn us - that way we can get to candidate #2 and give him 48 hours to decide.

he can walk out the door for UM today (let Alone next Sunday) AND OWE NOTHING. Zero. If Jim already knows he is going to UM SF has no say in it. The only reason Jim would want to be let go or put any power in the hands of SF is if he wants to see what is out there in the NFL. I know he doesn't want to burn bridges so maybe he will get time to talk to his players, etc? I don't know if this is good or bad because of they fire him he can seek his own advantage. I'm still boggled about SF not being able to work this out with a coach of his caliber! I think there is a chance they try to reconcile. Minute but there. I dunno. I'm just going to sit up & wait. My main concern is Jim giving us good vibes only to say no around Jan 10th.

And it's completely respectable! Just another reason I want him here. It's not because he is the sexy name. It's not because he is a Michigan man. It's because I know Bo was his hero, he learned from him, and I'm assuming that he fashioned his coaching skills from Bo. We need it done the "right way" and we need "toughness". We need a stiff dose of "old school"! He has all those qualities!

I also heard this FWIW. Des and Carter went to meet with Mrs Harbaugh and basically sold her on the fact that him coming back to Michigan would be one for the books. She wants Jim to "go make history" and is truly behind him.

If this report of San Francisco firing Harbaugh is true, this is huge. If the firing is happening 24-48 hours after the final game, that is huge as well. Because, if the reports that Hackett is giving Harbaugh until January 1st to make his decision, this prevents other NFL teams from meddling. Obviously, if he was fired today, we'd potentially have to endure 11 or 12 days of finger biting.

On the other hand, if all the reports of "it's happening" are true, and Harbaugh's mind is made up to come to Michigan, I'd rather San Francisco fire him today and an informal announcement is made tonight that he is coming.

EDIT: Agree with other...we need more SEARCHBITS!

When Harbaugh turns down Michigan I am going to hunt down everyone who said it was a "done deal", starting with Marcellus Wiley.

Where has Glazer said this? I saw something on SB that referenced Glazer and mentioned Chicago Bears but have yet to see anything BY Glazer. More NFL crap .....

Okay, good. At least he did say it but others citing him without context or source and then speculating about other NFL teams ...that Harbaugh's just messing with UM. I think the 24-48 hour thing has been floated for some time, Jay.
