CC- An interesting Reddit comment

Edit: The reddit user is elduderino01. I don't know if it has anything to do with the rdt/wiab junk that everyone is babbling about.

Like everything else relating to the coaching search, take this with a grain/bucket of salt. That said, two things lend this at least a little bit of credibility. 1. He's an Alabama fan, yet knows a suspicious amount about the inner workings of U-M -- far more than any random Alabama fan could really be expected to. 2. He has a 5 year old account. Generally on reddit, the older your account is, the more credible you are. At the very least it means you're not there simply to troll. Take it for what it's worth. I'm not presenting this as a fact.

"According to my source ( a fella who works in their Athletic Department and is a friend of my brother who is a faculty member there, and who correctly called the timelines for both the former AD and Head Coaches being fired earlier this season... ) Harbaugh to UM has been pretty much and agreement in principal for almost a month, and as of this past week the deal is done. harbaugh will be e next head football coach at UM... It also makes plenty of sense, certainly more sense than continuing to work for the Yorks or to start new with the Davis's.... Oh and for what its worth, it is the family that owns the Miami Dolphins who were so instrumental in getting this done. Apparently theyre also huge UM boosters and they are writing the blank check. As well Lloyd Carr and his backers on the Board of Regents have given their blessing as well. Harbaugh has been assured he will have carte blanch when it comes to football operations in A2"

I thought I saw a tweet about it being Harbaugh unless he flakes out.  If I recall right it was in response to a tweet about the S. Peyton rumor.

Starting to wonder if the Peyton rumor is to throw some off the scent until Harbaugh's season is done.

I've pretty much stopped reading anything related to the coaching search.  My faith in Michigan football has been so trampled in the last 7 years or so that i'm just gonna assume we end up with Eastern Michigan's wide receivers coach, whoever that may be.

Seems right that it's for a back up plan in case we fail to land JH.

Personally, I hate consuting firms because they rarely deliver their value in exchange for the huge invoices.  But, it's an extremely smart move by Hackett in this case.

I just can't wait until this is all over and some day soon we can hear what actually happened behind the scenes between Brandon's dismissal and the announcement of our next coach.

It'll be fun to see how full of shit or on-the-money all of these theories are.

One thing I know for sure at this point:  Hackett did an exceptionally good job at explaining his plan/process yet he has kept leaks practically non-existent to this this point.

That's the sign of a guy in control.  I have an odd confidence that if JH is the target (like we all think he is), then Hackett is working every fukcing angle he can to bring Jimmy home.

LoL

My 90 year old aunt could have written Reddit post that and she knows nothing about football.

I've got sources who say Brady Hoke has hired Shaun T and will be on P90X for the next month so he can come back disguised as a different guy. Even getting a headset permently stiched to his head as that will throw-off any facial recognition software any suspicious fans may use on the "new" coach.

My source has ties to Ball State where they know a person close to the landscaping crew who overheard a conversation between Jason Whitlock and another "fat guy" holding what looked to be Beats by Dre and an SM58 microphone.

I'm not a troll, I assure you. My 1st post may seem like it, but whatever. I'm as big a UM fan as anybody.

My personal opinion is that JH is giving this SERIOUS consideration but nothing more at this point. I think the Llloyd Carr "endorsement" is a "white flag" of sorts acknowledging that his R.R./Hoke nonsense screwed the program.

I felt that Miles should have been the guy to succeed Carr. I also think R.R. should have been given that 4th year (yeah, I'm one of those people) but realized that wouldn't be best for HIM.

None of the TV guys appeal to me (Gruden, Cowher, Dungy, Edwards, etc...). Do I think JH or LM will accept if offered? Maybe.

JH, I think, is now an NFL coach. Had he not had immediate success in SF, then he may have come home with no hesitation. Honestly, if he is truly out as the 49ers coach, I see him in NY before Ann Arbor (Giants need Coughlin to do the right thing and quit so they don't get hamstrung). The Raiders and the Jets both need to cease operations for a season or two. He ain't going to either of those black holes.

Miles, well, as long as Carr has an office in that building, he ain't coming. 'nuff said.

So, while this Reddit post may be a beautiful read to the fans with JH goggles on, I'm using common sense. If you guys want to get trolled by Cowherd and Reddit, then go ahead. Meanwhile, I'm keeping hope alive that we end up with a guy whose going to make ohio and MSU poop thier pants. JH is THE guy, but not the only guy.

Point is...

Miles probably would have been the HC already had Carr not undercut the program in 2007. Whether he did it from Schembechler Hall or a Domino's Pizza location, UM football is looked at a joke because of the influence he's had since stepping down.

Of course he "endorses" JH right now. He'd be the only idiot in the state of Michigan not doing so. My opinion  and my point is that Carr's opinion on who's hired is no longer needed.

Have said, in summary:

Harbaugh, Sean Payton, John Harbaugh, and Les Miles in that order. Jim H has until end of the season to say yes or no. Has already been offered - the money is agreed upon. Has to work out a settlement with his 1st wife on a custody issue.

If he changes his mind or can't work out a settlement, Sean Payton is our #2 pick, and he knows he's #2. He has expressed strong interest in leaving the Saints for the job.

John and Les are also interested privately, but are publicly denying any interest for obvious reasons. Payton's name has only recently leaked; he'll be publicly denying it too now until New Orleans eliminated or Jim turns it down.

Who really knows? If I had that gif of Michael Jackson throwing popcorn in his mouth from the thriller video, I might inset it here....

Apparently moved to PA. I don't know (or really want to know) the details of their custody agreement, but I thought this custody angle was a bit fishy--potentially just rumor mill stuff that people repeat because it sounds reasonable rather than because there's any factual basis for it--so I did a little digging and found that she doesn't even live in CA anymore.
