MGOBLOG sends another to the recruiting big leagues!
Looks like Brandon Brown is going to Rivals to work as a writer. Congrats Brandon!
Pumped to announce that I am now employed by @TheWolverineMag! S/O to @Spath_Wolverine @TimS_Wolverine @Balas_Wolverine @JB_Wolverine

Now we need a 5 star prospect to fill the void =/ alas, good luck Brandon Brown this blog has quality.
Yes, but can we coach him up the way RCMB coaches up their 2 star prospects?
I actually heard about this some time ago but was wondering when there would be an announcement of some kind (as it is not my place to make them). There is something to be said about a site that attracts writers rising through the ranks and then sends them to other outlets. That speaks to the overall quality of the users and the readership here, I would think, as this is a demanding audience typically.
I kinda figured he got a job somewhere since he hasn't posted in a long time....
maybe he was still with his honey on their honeymoon.

I learned from Brian at like 5:30 p.m. last night. Nobody tells me anything!!!
In the upper right corner, my friend. The more money Brian has to pay people, the less incentive they have to go elsewhere. (I have no idea what Brian pays but I'm guessing it is less than the big boys with paid subscriptions - just how business works.)
That being said, congrats to Brandon! I wish you and your new wife the best.

low hanging fruit, huh?

How many times can Brian lose his top assistants before the program begins to decline because of a "brain drain?" /s
Wholeheartedly agree.
That said, congratulations to Brandon and best of luck!
His track record is that talent likes working for him as a way of growing a rep. Win win.

Yeah, but as soon as Ace or Seth run the same article 27 times in a row the week of the Penn State game, the MGoReaders will star their Fire Borges Seth or Fire Borges Ace campaigns.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the big league and the best place for Michigan content/board.
Good luck Brandon!
That's what they always say before they are scooped up by the pay per click sharks.
Though you haven't yet posted any info from recruits (that I've seen) I'm sure more than a few mgobloggers can envision your content production eventually evolving to a level that attracts some suitors.
You won't believe what these ten former MGoBlog recruiting experts have to say about the top secret methods behind Michigan's recruiting process ---->
MGoBlog is the recruiting little league ?
/s
Recruiting minor league, though everyone says it's not as fun to read any more now that we pay all the recruiting authors and don't treat them as writer/athletes.
Wellllll, Brian just has to execute next time.

Seth has had an outstanding individual effort.
And Brandon played today.
The guy he should have hired the last time he was looking for a recruiting writer.
What your strengths are..
Erin Andrews ain't got nothin' on me!

Love your site for those and the actual football reasons.

While correcting their grammar.
Edit: this was a joke, people. I love the Magnus (no homo).
I love you, too.
Yes, but is he going to twitter stalk high school kids and then act like we're crazy when we say that it seems a bit odd?

Magnus, you have my vote!
Magnus would be right about those strengths and weaknesses.
Oh...well...thanks!
Brandon Graham. A guy can dream,

Magnus is the best, and has been for a long time. For whatever reason(s), becoming a member of the staff apparently is never going to happen. Too bad.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm not sure what Brian's plans are at this point for the "recruiting guru" job. I took a stab at it (of sorts) when it came open previously, but as Space Coyote said somewhere else in this thread, I'm not really interested in contacting players/coaches. I prefer to watch film, write scouting reports, etc. I think it creates a conflict of interest when the same guys who rate kids also have to become friendly with them on a personal level in order to get interviews, inside information, etc. That's why I enlisted some help on TTB for a bit to do some interviews, but he moved on to bigger and better things in his professional life, so I let that aspect of the site go by the wayside.
Congratulations, Brandon. Good to see the upward mobility for guys who make a living on the recruiting scene.
This blog is the heavyweight of college sports blogs - the envy of every sports blog I know, no matter what the sport or team. We are fortunate to have this - GO BLUE!
Brian Cook: the John Beilein of Michigan blogs
He loses recruiting writers faster than Beilein loses Sophomores to the NBA.
Soon all Michigan's sportswriters will be MGoBlog alums. And I'll still be in this basement.

it's one sweeet basement.
