Devin Gardner and Al Borges are back this year on WTKA with their film breakdowns. Telestration and commentary have been separated for licensing reasons (can't monetize videos with film in them) so we get twice the content this year.

Cade was ok last year but struggled in many games. Washington, PSU, OSU, Iowa, and Georgia were all meh games for him. I wasn't sure what Brian and Seth were talking about when they said he had a Rudockian Renaissance last year. Rudock had a much better second half of the season in 2015 and was lights out in November.

I kind of wondered about Cade coming out in the middle of his last drive after throwing an incompletion.  Devin may have been right that Harbaugh had had enough.  He appeared to misread coverage on his last two throws.

These are fantastic.  Like I don't waste enough time on here already.  They just made it worse.

But I'll be all over the post-Hawaii / JJ ones next week.

You can’t shit on DG and his opinion, he is the least bias about his takes on Michigan QBs. He was ripping Joe Milton apart when he was playing QB here at Michigan. And who trained him for that entire summer before he became Michigans heir apparent. (DG) He gives us the breakdown of everything on the field. And shows us literally Cade misses the throw or doesn’t read the coverage. Cool he took us to the B1G championship, but you can’t come out when you are trying to defend your job and play the way he did. Also, his numbers don’t jump off the screen to say he will be the starting QB. Dude scored 16 touchdowns last year. JJ in his limited action scored 8 touchdowns. With the receivers Michigan has this season they need sombody who can get them the ball and is not scared to drive it down the field.

DG doesn't have a Cade bias.  His job is to anaylyze the plays we run.  It just so happens Cade takes the vast majority of the passing attempts.  Since Cade is not perfect, he is going to have more mistakes than JJ just based on volume of work.

While JJ appears to run as much as he throws, given the small sample size that's not surprising. What I see from JJ is that he takes the opportunities in front of him, the run is there, its high percentage, and he exploits it. I like seeing a Michigan qb read the defense and make good decisions as the play develops. While I really like Cade, and root for him, I don't see much of that from him for large stretches.
