According to him it took a toll on his body as well. I think he shot so much of the stuff that he essentially burned himself right out. He was also a fiend for painkillers. I heard him interviewed a while back and he said he became a real junkie. One quote I recall is he said "you're forever chasing that first high." I remember Steve Emtman from Washington was also suspected of being a huge roider. He was a beast.

I wish for once one of these coaches would just say "yeah, we won't stop guys from getting PEDs.  People expect these college students to play like professional athletes while they are still going to class, living their lives, and in some cases still experiencing body changes due to puberty.  And this is a billion-dollar organization that relies on them to compete on the field at their best, and so we will try to help them reach they potential by any safe means necessary.  It would be hypocritical to do otherwise."

It'll never happen, but it would be refreshing.

Sometimes when they print $20 bills the cocaine from the printing process accidentally gets on there. Then, when you do that one trick where you put a rolled up $20 in your nose and blow it like a kazoo some of the cocaine mistakenly gets into your system. It has happened to the best of us.

The claim that the university could have mistakenly administered banned substances to multiple players on the team is about as dishonest as it gets.

At least we can count on the NCAA for a thorough investigation.

In any sane system, that statement by Dabo would trigger a full scale investigation.  Per the USADA, ostarine is not approved for human use.  Therefore, it is illegal.  And anything with Ostarine in it is also illegal.

So I’d like to know just what Dabo thinks Clemson is supplying these guys that might have ostarine in it.  There is no legal substance which contains it.

Here’s the relevant section from the USADA:

Do everyday products contain ostarine?

There are in fact products that contain ostarine, but only illegal ones. Given that ostarine is not approved for human use or consumption in the U.S., or in any other country, there are no legal medications that contain ostarine.

It’s also important to note that ostarine is not a permitted ingredient in dietary supplements. However, you should be aware that some dietary supplement manufacturers illegally put SARMs like ostarine in their products and sell them as “legal steroids” or “research only” chemicals.

Were they given PEDs intentionally?  Maybe, maybe not.  We really don't know.

I do know, however, that ostarine positives as a result of contamination are a very real thing.  It's common for a single factory to produce supplements for many different companies.  If the factory doesn't properly clean their equipment in-between production runs, it's very possible for an ingredient from one product to contaminate another product.

I've been racing as a professional triathlete since 2011, so the world of athletic drug testing is something I'm very familiar with.  Two of my friends popped positive for ostarine, and I 100% believe it was the result of contaminated products they were consuming.  They were each able to prove, through independent lab testing, that the salt capsules they were using had been contaminated with ostarine.

Now... did Clemson intentionally dope these players, or was it contamination?  We'll never know.  I'm just saying that Dabo's statement should not be immediately dismissed as ridiculous, because it's entirely plausible.

Let me play devils advocate here...

Ostarine would be a TERRIBLE choice to give your players for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost detection times are all over the place and it would be incredibly unpredictable. You'd be purposely making it substantially easier for you to get caught.

Secondly, the results are "ok". It works, yes, but as an avid fan of PED's I wouldn't waste a dollar on ostarine.

If you wanted a clemson sponsored PED program or even a "one eye open one eye closed" program you'd absolutely advise guys to take more effective and predictable drugs. You'd almost be able to argue they wanted to purposely get caught if they gave their team Ostarine. There is just no reason to do it and for the risk the ROI is not worth it.

Furthermore, since ostarine does work, and most trendy supplements don't there has been an issue of spiking products with various SARMS like ostarine.

Guys take steroids. My educated guess is they saw these sarms advertised and thought they are steroid like but you won't get popped for them. That is the most likely thing that occured. Guys start talking and telling others "dude this is like steroids but you can't get popped it's a SARM!"
