OT Boiler Up! Sparty loses POSBANG
Well, Michigan is back tied for first in Big Ten. Thanks Purdue!
Let's keep it going versus Ohio State!!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Still on that, huh? You guys really miss Maizen. For all the shit you guys gave him it sure looks like you can’t live without him.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
You celebrating the Sparty loss today, bro? I hope so.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
I don’t care about Michigan State enough to “cheer” for Purdue. If Michigan plays well we should sweep State anyway.
January 27th, 2019 at 7:38 PM ^
Stick around. Unless we go 36-1 they will be back.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
I said it once and I’ll say it again, BOILER THE FUCK UP!!!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
Not tied yet have to beat OSU. Then we can take a half game lead vs Iowa on Friday
January 27th, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
Sparty goes down!!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Bang bang!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
I was at work and couldn't watch. What happened? Was Izzo forced to play a bunch of weird guys?
January 27th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Purdue was blowing them out, State went on a huge run but Purdue hung on. Izzo pulled out a hack-a-some dude strategy that backfired spectacularly.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
Awwww, so sad....
January 27th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Q was the most ridiculous addition to that show - yet made for so many interesting scenes. Good times.
January 27th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
How was he an addition? He was in the very first two part episode, "Encounter at Farpoint".

January 27th, 2019 at 3:23 PM ^
Choo Choo.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
Big Ten is a meat grinder. Don't get down on the guys if they don't look spectacular every game. Very physical up and down conference
January 27th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
No, no, no! I read this blog. When it happens to us, it's because we can't play and we're terrible. Why is it different for them?
January 27th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
That is perfect sarcasm on how a negative Michigan fan processes a game! Well done!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
So much for the idiot notion that MSU had a virtual lock on the conference championship after we lost to Wisconsin.
The last time a BIG regular season champ went undefeated was 1976, and since then there have been a small handful of champs finishing with one loss. Virtually every champion has at least 2 losses, and majority with 3 or more.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Not to mention that Sparty has to go to the Trohl Center also.
January 27th, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
While that's true, MSU has a much easier closing stretch overall than Michigan. 5 KenPom Tier A games, 3 Tier B, and 2 Tier... C, I guess. (Tier Nothing?).
Meanwhile, Michigan has 9 Tier A and 2 Tier B games.
Purdue, on the other hand, has 7 Tier A, 1 Tier B, and 3 Tier C games.
IMO, Michigan's Big Ten regular season chances come down to two games: @Iowa and @Maryland. If they can win both of those two games, they likely win the Big Ten with a split over MSU. If they only win one, they probably need to sweep Sparty.
January 27th, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
Oh, speaking of that:
Michigan has 5 home and 6 road games remaining.
I know we all like to think that teams should win at home, and there's certainly some truth to that. That said, KenPom gives them only about a 20% chance to sweep the remaining home schedule. My assumption is that both Michigan and MSU will lose a game they "shouldn't."
FYI: The last time Michigan went undefeated at home was the '76-77 season, when Phil Hubbard and Rickey Green led the team to a 14-0 home record during a Big Ten champion season. They were 26-4 overall, including 16-2 in the Big Ten. And, yes, one of those losses was at Assembly Hall. :/ They fell in the Elite Eight to Cornbread Maxwell's UNC-Charlotte team.
January 27th, 2019 at 6:08 PM ^
My guess is three losses wins at least a share of the Big Ten.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
Home Cooking
Purdue 10-0 at home.
Check the home records in Big.
Ridiculous.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Key loss, thanks Purdue, and Fuck Sparty.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Thumbs up!!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
Well I’m sure over at the Red Cedar Point blog they’re saying their team sucks at shooting!
January 27th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
They're blaming the refs. Hilarious. I don't know if another team in the B1G benefits as much from the officiating as much as the Spartans (ok, maybe the Gophers, who's entire offense consists of committing offensive fouls and not getting called).
January 27th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
Well, don't forget Wisconsin, mighty floppers that they are.
January 27th, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
The scuMSUcker run was greatly aided by the refs calling phantom fouls.
January 27th, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
How does Minny play at Wisconsin. We had two charging fouls in warm ups.
January 27th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
Pretty sure they're blaming the refs...
January 27th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
The only difference between you and I is that I believe Michigan is much better than you do. You think that we played really well on Friday and I don’t, that’s it. That’s the difference.
January 27th, 2019 at 7:26 PM ^
Are you high? 17-2 start and finished with a 23 pt win...
January 27th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
It's the injuries...otherwise, they would have won easily.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
So sorry Sparty! Thanks Purdue! Go Blue!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
I no longer fear Izzo as a coach
January 27th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Tom Izzo only wins games because he stunts the growth/development of all of his elite recruits until they're upperclassmen and then when he has a whole team of literal adults who were 5 star recruits they actually can make a run. He's not an elite coach. He's an elite hoarder.
Cassius and Ward wouldn't be this good at Michigan. Because they'd already be in the NBA.
January 27th, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
I doubt Winston will play in the NBA regardless of where he went to school. He is like 5’10, has all kinds of issues creating his own shot, can’t finish at the basket, is athletically limited, and is a marginal at best defender. That is not a recipe for a pro.
January 27th, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
Other than 5’10” Darius Morrsi didnt think those were a problem.
January 27th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Thank you Tyler Trent for the assist! Boiler Up!
January 27th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
MUAHAHAHAHAHA
January 27th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
I went to RCMB for some schadenfreude, but was distracted by a thread full of people praising Dantonio for pulling a kids scholarship this close to signing day.
January 27th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Boiler up! Go Blue!
January 27th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Awesome way to enjoy a Sunday. A bitch ass Sparty team getting punked. It’s all ahead of this team now. Conference championship runs through AA!!
January 27th, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^
I'm here for the POSBANG
January 27th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
Why do bad things happen to good, clean teams?
January 27th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
This game shows why the big ten is up for grabs with top 4 teams. I still think it's between michigan and sparty, as Maryland is in a funk, but who knows? That's why I love college basketball
January 27th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
Benzolamas!
January 27th, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
I hate slapping the floor but I'll make an exception and do it for this.
