OT - Engler Claims Nassar Survivors enjoying "spotlight"
I had not seen this on the board (looked a bit) and the story from Metro Times now picked up by the national media. Apparently comments made to Detroit News editorial board over the weekend from Engler indicated:
You’ve got people, they are hanging on and this has been … there are a lot of people who are touched by this, survivors who haven’t been in the spotlight,” Engler told The News. “In some ways, they have been able to deal with this better than the ones who’ve been in the spotlight who are still enjoying that moment at times, you know, the awards and recognition.”
I thought Sparty couldn't go lower. I was wrong.

This is insane, everytime he says something heinous like this it makes me think that it must be something from the onion or some other satire site. What in the fuck is wrong with this man? How can a public university tolerate this from their current president? Warden screwed up by hiring someone associated with this mess and the immediate outcry from the public and the regents led to a rather quick correction, how has MSU not moved to fire Engler by now? This situation is beyond bizarre.

If all the BOT positions went up for vote tomorrow, the only people that would stay are the two women that were elected in November. Very few want Engler there but unfortunately, some of the few that do are in positions of power.

Remember he was brought in to protect Mork and Izzo. That is why he is still there. His job is to keep circling the wagons and keep the negative attention away from the beloved basketball and football programs. So, in this case most Spartys are probably proud of the job he is doing. Also, I see Izzo is not wearing his teal ribbon anymore this year.
