Offensive lineman Devontae Dobbs  didn’t live up to his lofty ranking at any time during the week. And while that’s not to say Dobbs was awful all week, he certainly didn’t look like the No. 48 player in the country.

The first day report was that Barnett was showing  well. It doesn't matter. Michigan has a bunch of FOOTBALL PLAYERS coming in who will compete and can play the game.

So . . . the current recruit rankings and team rankings are not final yet, correct?  Won't there be some changes between now and the final NSD in February?

Michigan should see a bump upward.

Also:  These recruiting services are going to need to start accounting for transfers somehow.  Those are going to be as big a factor of a schools "incoming class" as high school recruits.

Yeah, our incoming class that had Shea in it was a much better class than it got credit for on paper.

If the whole point of following these ranking services is to see who is bringing the most impactful classes, transfers are going to start being a factor.

I coach a high school team that played Belleville, and I was much more impressed with Barnett than Dobbs. But I thought Barnett was a WR rather than a DB. Dobbs was not special. He has decent feet, but doesn't impose his will like a top recruit is expected to. He'll play for MSU, but won't live up to his ranking.

I thought it was weird that we as blog literally only talk about 2 of MSU's commits, Barnett and Dobbs, then I realized they are literally the only 2 good recruits in MSU's 2019 class. The rest are at least in the 400s in the composite

MSU has had an amazing fall since their CFP appearance. Mork managed one decent recruiting class, and then had to kick all the best players out for rape. Now, their offense makes ours look like Oklahoma playing a high school team.

I wonder if Mork is eyeing the AD's job yet?

This article seems incredibly cruel and exploitative. These kids are as young as 16 and they're calling them out for making the schools they have committed to "winners" and "losers." What a bunch of leeches.

Julian Barnett

had an uneven week that ranged from solid to concerning, while offensive lineman

Devontae Dobbs

didn’t live up to his lofty ranking at any time during the week. And while that’s not to say Dobbs was awful all week, he certainly didn’t look like the No. 48 player in the country. The week that was for the Spartans also included an excruciating 7-6 loss to Oregon in a bowl game sponsored by an antiquated way to rent DVDs. There have been better stretches in East Lansing. That much is certain.

Dobbs was way overrated and is more like a guard then a tackle when he plays college ball.  Barnett would have been IMO a better get then Dobbs.  The 2020 guys in the State is what we need to get Roger's and Enzo are 2 of them.

Will say this all the recruits we were really in on or it was between us and another school seemed to impress most people who watched the game or practices.  Would have been great to get them all but it sure does seem that our coaches know how to recruit.
