Ryan day working on this while coaching the rose bowl? But yes, this looks legit. Go get Wilson
January 1st, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Early reports Wilson will be retained as OC. Relax.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
Relax? Ive been in the go get Wilson camp for awhile now.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
Didn't Meyer take over his duties leaving Day free to recruit? Kind of what OSU did when they hired Meyer, except for not asking the NCAA to allow extra them coaches.

Did Yurcich beat a spouse, get fired for mistreating players, punch a player, cheat and lie to the ncaa, or get blacklisted by a fanbase? If not I dont see why OSU would have any interest in him. Now if you said Briles that would make sense.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
He’s taking Day’s old job as QB coach and will be co-OC with Wilson. Hopefully this will be a terrible hire.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:28 PM ^
They're bound to have a shitty hire eventually. Right?
January 1st, 2019 at 9:57 PM ^
We've had several shitty hires recently. Tim Beck, promoting Ed Warinner to OC, Bill Davis to name a few.
January 2nd, 2019 at 10:28 AM ^
I think you can add Taver Johnson to that list as well.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:04 PM ^
Isn't that the dude Mike Gundy pulled out of obscurity from some D3 school in Pennsylvania? Why is it that we hire so-called big names who fail to live up to their billing, and other schools gamble on lesser-known (or totally unknown, in Yurcich's case) names who then hit it out of the park?
January 1st, 2019 at 9:09 PM ^
I dont know a lot of Okla St. fans dont like him that much
January 1st, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
Because by the time you're a big name in coaching, opposing coordinators have already figured out your scheme? Or maybe because they're not as hungry after they've made it big.
January 2nd, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
Yeah they pulled him from a D2 school in Pa. they went for a big turn under his offense and became more of a spread style attack.
It always amazes me that michigan is going after the guys who have the background they do but then they get here and it reverts to the one yard and a cloud of dust that has gone on for the past few years.
This is something that they have to change but there are so many shiny toys out there that could be had to give a shot at changing the things that frustrate the fans here but that unfortunately isnt going to change any time soon it appears

Harbaugh is on vacation in Atlanta at the aquarium with the family!

Pics or we don't believe you.

So.... day is prepping for the rose bowl, recruiting, coaching the rose bowl and apparently hiring assistant coaches. Yet, all we're hearing out of Michigan's camp is we're losing Washington and possibly brown. Ohio state being proactive and going out and taking what and who they want. There's the difference in programs right there folks. Gotta go take what you want. Dictate how it's going to be. Don't wait and let it come to you. Go take what's yours. I hope Harbaugh has things planned out, but if not, this sums it all up.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:39 PM ^
They are playing a different game. That is why UM has only one victory in 14 years or so.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
It's actually two in 18 years. Not that anyone is counting though.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
Harbuagh is waiting on the NFL coaches search to conclude so he can get the scraps to come to Michigan.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:11 PM ^
Yurcich will more than likely be the QB coach/Co OC. Wilson is suppose to be retained.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:59 PM ^
Sarkishian to Michigan
January 1st, 2019 at 9:28 PM ^
Might as well go with Sarkesheean
I'd pay to see a debate versus Lou Holtz.January 1st, 2019 at 9:30 PM ^
I can’t help but imagine what he (or Day or Meyer) would do with the talent we have on offense.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
Michigan should go after Mark Helfrich from the Bears as OC , former Oregon coach . Michigan would have to pay him quite a bit but we need to do what it takes at all costs to take the next step for this program
January 2nd, 2019 at 3:03 AM ^
He’s the OC for the Bears...why would he come back to college in the same position? Their offense is on the rise, and he will be the beneficiary for it. Might be looking at NFL HC gigs in a couple years.

according to ESPN he is going to the other OSU, the one that has more of an impact on the michigan fan base. This is big because his offense has been good as ok state but he is under Gundy who is an offensive minded guy. He was plucked from a small school and pulled to a big time school and is now one of the up and coming guys on the offensive side of the ball.
This is not good for us at michigan because there are guys out there like this who can turn the offense on a new path that doesnt revert back to the deer in headlights run up the middle that has plagued the michigan offense for the past coupe of years under Harbaugh.

Cam cameron is available.
January 2nd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
Mike Gundy has been successful with lower ranked recruiting classes. Likely due to the mullet. If harbaugh goes mullet with visor/Oakley combo I think he airs it out.
