MSU had an elite defense this year if were being honest. Championship defense for sure. But that offense......that offense was a fucking disgrace. One of the worst power 5 offenses ive ever seen. Even with all the great field position their defense gave them they could barely piece together a drive by seasons end

Good defense - not better than ours. Definitely good, though. Did not get a chance to see the MSU game today (long list of stuff to get done while stores open) but it doesn't sound like it went well.
Northwestern, on the other hand, wow. Had a feeling they were going to pull this off. Funny thing, the camera showed a picture of the Utah coach looking (understandably) grim. I thought, if that were Harbaugh, half the posters here lately would be posting takes about how he is unhappy with his life, or is not engaged, or something... some undefined something.... is just off.

Northwestern showed us the way we should play defense. Once they got the lead, they kept everything in front of them. One play late in the 4th quarter, Utah had a 3rd and 12, NU played a 3 5 3 with the 5 playing 7 yrs off the ball lined up across the field and the 3 Dbs playing at the sticks. Utah could do anything but throw it short and the wr got clobbered by 3 guys. That happened a lot late in the game. Hell, the offense looked good once their defense made the scoop and score. They started being aggressive with shots downfield.making the catch or getting Pass intereference calls. At that point, NU got it, Mich will wake up one day.

The worst part of the broadcast was Brady Quinn throwing out the Sparty excuses all game long: too windy/bad weather, injuries, etc. It was like RCMB was feeding him his lines.
