Matthews thinks he is 'the man' and can shoot but Matthews can't shoot.

Charles Matthews cannot shoot (except from point blank range).  It would be nice to see +/- data on players as I know his defense is good but I have to believe we are a better team with Livers in the lineup vs. Matthews.

How many minutes were the games at the Old UI Fieldhouse?  Had they not figured out to cut out the bottom of the peach basket?

Transition? You mean bring back a 20-year-old Charles Woodson and field 11 future NFLers on offense? Funny how Carr couldn't maintain that 'transition' after those players left.

12/29/2018 - 4:37pm Winovich goes for the home…

Winovich goes for the home run every down and never sets the edge.  If you run to his side he is always lost going too deep or cutting straight to the fake hand off.  Florida kept many drive going by running to his side in crucial situations.

The octopus that picks the correct Super Bowl winner?

12/11/2018 - 2:55pm All conferences need to be…

All conferences need to be more regional to reduce travel time and expense for ALL sports.  I would propose five Premiere Division conference with relegation for the worst team each year into a Second Division, with the winner of the Second Division promoted each year.  You don't need to schedule conference games five years out - it can be easily done at the end of each season.

I'd like to ask a practical question at this point.  Does this mean Don Brown will not be winning the Frank Broyles award this year?

Costco called Penn State after the game - they want their uniforms back.

I think there was a behind the scenes deal that Urban could come back and fake his health issues so he could go out on his own terms at the end of this year.  They call it 'boothitis' and the only cure is a job at ESPN.

Because he lets Harbaugh meddle in all the play calling - a bizarre play calling by committee method.  Harbaugh needs to hire a true OC and turn over play calling and get the bleep out of the way.

I'd like to see some highlights of him picking up a blitz in pass protection.

03/30/2018 - 7:48am A great joke in 5 years

Who is the only person that can hold Jaren Jackson Jr. to under 11 points per game?

Answer: Tom Izzo

Ain't no way Jackson is getting 30 minutes per game for some strange reason.  He averaged 21.8 this season.

03/27/2018 - 8:34pm Six NBAers last Final Four, One(ish) this time

The best thing about this team is they don't have any true NBA talent - they just play really well as a team.  It could hardly be in more contrast to the last Final Four team with five future first round picks and one second rounder who would have been in the first round if he left after his Freshman season.

I doubt anyone on this team will ever play serious minutes in the NBA.  Mo is at best a role player on a mediocre team.  Matthews can't shoot.  Simpson's game won't translate.  Teske might develop into a role player.

My only hope for any breakout success in the NBA is MAAR if he spend a year or two in the G League proving himself.  Hard to imagine why he gets no love from scounts or all star lists when he is obviously our best all around player and the secret to our success.

03/21/2018 - 10:02am Confidence in the numbers

We may have won two ugly games last weekend but since March 1 we are still playing as well as anybody not named Villanova and should be favored to get to the Final Four.

03/16/2018 - 8:22am A man has got to know his limitations

03/12/2018 - 11:20am West is toughest according to recent performace

Good to see Michigan is #1 since Feb. 1 but Gonzaga is #2, UNC is #6 and Houston is #8.  Not exactly a cake walk.  Good news is Xavier is #11 and the weakest top seed in the tourney.

03/08/2018 - 5:00pm Brandon takes this 'failing upward' thing pretty seriously

He should be in line to take over Amazon at this pace.

01/26/2018 - 8:54am Poole for Matthews

Maybe Matthews is great on defense but the guy just can't shoot.  I know he has a high two point conversion rate but I'd like to see a shot chart on that as most of those have to be at the rim.  I would rather see Poole getting a lot more minutes - he can really shoot and has some swagger that can help pick up a team.

01/20/2018 - 4:05pm Looks evil to me

01/19/2018 - 3:56pm Good riddance

Every time I read his name it made me think of the worst song of all time:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfVsfOSbJY0

01/15/2018 - 9:52pm Why no pro love?

No one ever talks of MAAR making to the NBA.  He seems like a great glue guy that plays D, makes passes, doesn't turn the ball over, hits free throws and can drive or hit shots when needed.  If he could play the point at 6-4 I don't see why he couldn't have a shot at it.

01/04/2018 - 1:00pm Buried the Lead: Jay is now....?

I thought we had a running backs coach.  What does this mean for the future of one Jay Harbaugh?  Back to working for his uncle in Baltimore?

01/04/2018 - 12:55pm Ann Arbor behavior?

Hard to believe he only turned into this type person upon arriving in Arizona.  I wouldn't be suprised if similar stories didn't start coming out of the closet on State Street.

01/02/2018 - 9:00am Snuck in bottle of champagne

I was very confident of a victory that day so I snuck a bottle of champagne into the game by stuffing down my sock and pulling my pants leg over it.  I pass security fine but as I get past the ticket taker the champagne bottle pops out and starts rolling on the pavement.  He looks at me, I look at him and without flinching pick up the bottle, he shruggs his shoulders as if to say 'not my job' and I keep moving.  It was warm by the end of the game but nothing tasted sweeter that than victory or that champagne.

11/20/2017 - 4:31pm Start Teske, Wagner is a stretch four

Wagner's early rebound rate is an anomaly - he is not a center at the next level or the conference play level.  Wagner is a perfect stretch four so play him there.  Michigan needs to go big and give the rest of the conference match up problems.

10/23/2017 - 3:23pm Recruiting impact?

It may have been easier for Harbaugh to recruit the first couple years as he could sell the Harbaugh mystique and how Michigan will be ready to challenge for National Championships soon.  I have to think Michigan's inability to win big games and rivarly games will make recruiting more difficult moving forward.  Who wants to shoot for third place in the Big Ten East every year?  Right now our 2018 class is ranked 18th by Rivals.

09/25/2017 - 2:13pm Interception? Or pass interference?

They only showed the same downfield angle on the interception but it seemed to me that the defender arrived early, hitting the receiver's shoulder before the ball and making the catch nearly impossible.  I would love to have seen the view from the other angle to see the ball arrive.

09/24/2017 - 11:46am Pop Brownies

They make the Michigan fan base chill

09/03/2017 - 2:43pm Like, duhh

My wife just moved here from overseas.  She has never seen a game of football before.  She does not understand any of the rules.  She watched O'Korn play and asked "Why does he hang on to the ball so long?" Why indeed.

09/03/2017 - 1:47pm Don't be fooled by running game

We really struggled to run the ball on running downs and between the tackles - Evans got stuffed numerous times at the line of scrimmage when Florida was expecting run.  We got big chunks of yards on passing downs when Florida was in the wrong defense and those yards completely skew the YPA.  They may have a great DLine but we still cannot cosistently run on first and second down and that will hurt us in the bigger games late in the season.

08/30/2017 - 3:10pm Former Michigan great Evan King also made US Open

Evan King made it through the qualifier last week to make his first Grand Slam tournament in singles (he made the US Open in mixed doubles last year), losing in the First Round on Monday to 20th ranked Pablo Carreno Busta.  He is playing the best tennis of his career this summer and I hope to see more of him in ATP tournaments.

08/14/2017 - 4:04pm Creative commenting with Graffiti

Glad to see everyone thinks the comment sections on popular websites suck.  Using digital Graffiti (http://bit.ly/2u7Feqa) you can be a lot more creative with online commenting and add text, images and emojis to articles and images.  And it's Troll free since 2017.

06/03/2017 - 4:33pm End forced amateurism

What is so bad about formalizing the fact that the NCAA is the farm system for professional athletics? Athletes are the only students that can't get paid for providing services in their designated field.  If I'm a chemistry major I can get paid by Dow Chemical while in school and improving my craft.  If I'm a computer science major I can get paid by Google while in school and improving my craft.  They want me to stay in school so I can get better and make a bigger contribution when I'm ready to work full-time. If the Houston Rockets draft a kid out of high school he should sign a contract, get paid and then they decide if and how long college makes sense for them.  The only rule I would suggest is the pro team has to cover the cost of college but it counts as a scholorship slot.

05/27/2017 - 10:07am Sniffs Butt

Made it on ESPN twice

05/26/2017 - 12:07pm I looked up "stretch 4" in the dictionary

and saw a picture of Mo Wagner.  He will only play in the NBA at the 4 so he will get the most out of his last year here playing there, plus we get a real rim protector and rebounder in at the 5.  We need rebounding and interior defense to win a conference championship.

03/24/2017 - 2:43pm Hire Michael Porter Sr.

I heard Jr. got a release from Washington after Dad got fired.

03/24/2017 - 11:41am Let's not fall in love with Beilein again

Pump the brakes people.  The shortcomings of the Beilein method reared their ugly head again last night.  If you want a nice team that can challenge for a Big Ten title every few years and get to the Sweet 16 when they are hot stay the course.  If you want an elite program dominating conference play and making Final Four runs we need elite athletes, five stars, one and dones.  We need tough guys the crash the boards, block shots and play defense.  And box out on free throws.  If Mo and DJ come back we will be good next year (and B1G favorites) but we can't expect to compete with Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, et al with nice players that may get six minutes a game in the NBA in a few years.

02/08/2017 - 8:06am Terrelle Pryor sank two programs - UM and OSU

Pryor was obviously integral in the downfall of Tressel at OSU but you could also say he caused the Rich Rod debacle in Ann Arbor.  Our AD thought that if Pryor was considering going to West Virginia just to play for Rich Rod, by hiring Rich Rod we could flip him to Michigan and take him away from OSU.  Rich Rod probably even said as much in his interview.  So we hired Rich Rod but Pryor didn't follow.  The rest is misery....

02/03/2017 - 6:48am F-Michigan could be a positive

Maybe he thinks Michigan is very attractive and sexy and if Michigan was standing in Rick's at 1:30 AM he would really like to have sex with Michigan - hence, F-Michigan - whereas he wouldn't touch Alabama with a ten foot pole.

01/18/2017 - 2:36pm Beilein looked rattled

Was it me or is the pressure getting to JB?  His halftime interview and courtside behavior looked very unhinged.  I think he knows he is fighting to keep his job and it is going to be an uphill battle.

10/27/2016 - 10:20am Team with more total yardage gets ball and advantage

For every ten yards of more total offense the team gets one yard of field position from the 50 to start overtime.  For instance, I have 150 yards more total offense at the end of regulation.  I get the ball first at your 35 yard line.  There is no punting.  The team that scores first wins.

10/27/2016 - 8:09am Look at all those Seniors

Not only is Sparty terrible on offense but they are going to lose most of their players to...uh, what is it when you stop taking classes because you have no eligibility left?  That thing.  Next year is going to be a rebuilding year for their offense.  Think about that.

09/19/2016 - 2:23pm ....in All-Time Winning Percentage

Thanks to ND losing twice already this year Michigan has finally resumed leadership in All-Time Winning Percentage. Thanks Sparty?  I expect we will continue to build on this lead for as long as Harbaugh remains in Ann Arbor.
