Harbaugh: Rumler "arguably best player in the class"

Harbaugh did a signing day interview with TMI.  One quote stood out.  When discussing top recruits in Michigan's class, Harbaugh said that Nolan Rumler is arguably the best player in this class.

Also says that Dax has the possibility to be one of the best safeties Michigan has had.

That's good to hear from Coach H, especially considering the talent level of some of the other players in this class.  Once the current guards on this team graduate, we're going to need a couple really talented guys to step up.  Rumler sounds like a good candidate to be one of those guys.

I heard a radio interview on some obscure AM radio station from someone connected with Ohio high school football (not associated with Michigan) and they thought Rumler was best player in state.  Said he has a nasty streak in good way and would likely be in Michigan's two deep as freshman and starting as sophmore. Said he was dissapointed that OSU didn't recruit him harder.

No surprise.  Since he cannot recruit his own QB's he needs to bolster OL commits who can try to block for 30 runs up the middle per game.

Leadership IMO, especially along the OL, is the most under rated aspect of building a really great team.

To think it'll be Bredeson and Ruiz leading the way next year with Rumbler in waiting, all with Warrinner as General, makes me believe our OL can finally reach the continuity they used to have.

Plus year 2 Shea will have more comfort in his leadership role and Dmac looked like a natural born leader walking up to the line for his first play vs ND.

40 plus points a game, ability to grind the clock in the 4th quarter with a lead, many studs on defense. I am really looking forward to next season which really starts one week from now

I noticed during these post signing day interviews, there is a common thread in many of Harbaughs interviews. He keeps mentioning that the incomeing class is either "hungry" or "ready to work" or both.  I wasnt sure if that was 100% just coach speak, platitudes you dust off when you do a bunch of interviews and dont really want to give out much detail/ you find the process (interviews) cumbersome...OR maybe (tinfoil hat) was Harbaugh sending a veiled message to the guys who have recently left the program (non-NFL division).  Maybe he's sending a message about the guys who have recently transferred out that they werent willing to put in the level of work the coaching staff expects?

I could be making this up, but at the same time, the tweet from Aubrey's Mom about the truth coming out to me seemed like an aggreived parent who thought their child was more special that they possible really were, and was upset that they weren't treated as something special.

Well, neither here nor there, but I wish the new guys great success during their careers.

That's extremely promising to hear that about an O lineman.  Especially, given the awesome class we recruited!  Can't wait for next season.  Hopefully, Beilein and the boys can make another run.

GO BLUE!!
