Way too much positivity

If I get banned, I get banned; am I the only realist when it comes to basketball? It’s all sunshine and rainbows — we sucked against a terrible team.  A win is NOT simply a win in this sport.  Please don’t let me be alone in this sentiment.  Carry on and Go Blue.

Idk man... I just kind of enjoy this program, this team, this staff, these players..... the whole deal. Really can't relate to anyone that wants to nitpick. We just came off of a championship berth and may even be better than we were last year. Fuck man... you sound like a lot of my fellow Rams fans that were crucifying McVay after the bears loss..... Complete lack of perspective.

Flowers was throwing up prayers and making them.  If it wasn't for Flowers M wins by 20 with X, Ziggy and Teske having off games.  That is the sign of a good team. Ziggy had ZERO points until late in game....

It’s just you. Subpar performances happen from time to time. To EVERYONE. People like you just jump on it as an opportunity to bash the team. Was it a great performance? No. Are there things to improve upon? Sure.

But at the end of the day that doesn’t erase the great wins we’ve already had and the fact that we’re STILL undefeated. You’re either a troll, or you’re putting WAY too much stock into a single bad game that we still won comfortably.

To the OP - relax & enjoy the BB season for now. The spring game is right around the corner and football will be back before you know it.

Trust Bielien and the staff, you can use this game to motivate certain players and give others more playing time. Playing time competition is key to keeping the guys focused

I spend enough time getting frustrated about football.  I love it when we win in basketball, but if things don't go so well...so be it.  I don't care enough to get upset about it.

How’s the hang over this morning Bud?

I see you have been a member for 9 years and change which leads me to be confused by your misunderstanding of sports.  Sports are gunna sport.  You win some and you lose some. Enjoy this streak while it lasts because it wont last forever....or I guess you can choose to be miserable during the good times AND also the bad times.  If that’s the case, I would highly suggest finding something else other than sports to put your time and energy into.

A couple of points: (please remember these are my opinions ONLY, and I believe you are being a bit sarcastic. But be prepared to be called a lot of names by the oh-so-mature "college graduates" on this board)

In football, you can make these kinds of judgements during the season, a lot of times because they point to weaknesses in scheme, talent, playcalling, etc

In football, there aren't enough games and prsctices have been limited by the NCAA during the offseason, so sometimes you just have to try to hide things

In basketball, you have 30 games to work this out--so if there is a weakness or something strategic or in talent, it can be coached out

In basketball, you can afford these lapses--longer season

The players, the players--young guys who can occassionally be bored, quite frankly (they are in school, too, maybe their little girlfriends are nagging them about always being away, or thinking they're not as important as "that goddamm basketball. Go screw coach Belein or see if he'll let you do HIM doggy style" or some stupid shit like that. I mean, geez, that's what women do!

It's 2018. Very likely that some of them have kids already and they miss their kids.

Basketball is unduly influenced by referees and other factors such as 900 million times out, commercial breaks, constant stoppage of play--

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar--a bad game.

Maybe the other team has coaches and players too...

I don't understand what this post is saying, and I'm one of those "college graduates" (not sure why the quotation marks are necessary, but there they are).  Our basketball team had a bad day but won a game.  I had a bad day at work last week, but hey, I still got some things done, and the next day they let me come back to work again.  Don't overthink it.

Right now it looks like Michigan is ripe for an upset.  So what!  That is what makes college basketball and the tournament so entertaining.  Very-very few teams go undefeated during the year.  Sometimes a loss isn't a bad thing because it shows what needs attention, takes the pressure off being undefeated, and allows the coach to focus players.

Given that JB's teams always improve during the season peaking at tournament time, I will be disappointed when a loss comes but not be surprised.

Hard to imagine a better example of John Bacon’s description of Michigan fans than this OP:

”Michigan fans aren’t happy unless they’re unhappy.”

The last team to go through the entire season without a loss was Indiana in 75-76. Michigan will lose several games this year, but that doesn't mean we can't or won't have a great season.

virtual +1

Just about everyone acknowledges that the past three games haven't been great, but the team blew the door off my expectations up until then.

We aren't players.  We're just fans.  How entitled do you have to be to say the team "sucked"?

Thank you Mich BBall.  I'm sure you'll find a way to motivate yourselves without couch potato fans proclaiming you "sucked" in a win.

What a jackass post OP. Id neg the piss out of it but can't.

Of course there will be a letdown .We are a big Target for everyone now... This game was WMU's biggest of season.  There rest of our games will get our opponents top performance .

They are playing as good as possible right now, save for ever putting Davis in game .We need to get the others up to speed and fast, because in the tournament smart teams will go after Teske fouls to sit him.

Believe in Beilein!

Apparently you are one of those who do not believe in sitting in a gentle warm breeze under a rainbow filled sky and neath the yum yum tree of an eleven and 0 team. All the while munching on the fruits of victory.  I can see where it would suck to be you.haha

In the aftermath of the drubbing the Buckeyes handed in this years "game", you remember that don't you?, the one where they delivered a beating akin to a tied up goat. The one where they not only delivered to Maize and Blue the worst beating ever but probably made you scourge your eyeballs out.

There are those who take comfort in an eleven-0 record not only to cheer on the team but also, as solace from that debacle. And you want to ruin that glow because the roundballers didn't win by 100 points? Why not just strip the comforting cream away from the world of fans everywhere and scrape off the scabs from those wounds?

I am ruined;

too much? haha.

OP: think positively, sir.

Simpson was 3/4 from 3 and 6/10 on 2s, and missed 0 free throw attempts.

That will give B1G coaches something to think about.
