Future spring break trips: South Africa 2019, Brazil 2020, Cuba 2021

Haven't heard this yet.

South Africa in 2019

Brazil in 2020

CUBA in 2021!

Crazy.

#Michigan is heading to South Africa in 2019, Brazil in 2020, and Cuba in 2021. It's a big part of why the parents of 4-star Florida State LB commit @KalenDeloach are telling him Jim Harbaugh's plan is the best one for him (VIP) https://t.co/5n2roSBUHD pic.twitter.com/a5Wd0FCPkA

For cultural experience, Cuba is a non-sequitur with the rest that have been done/planned.

Something in Asia, or maybe a cruise of the pacific, tracking big WWII battles in the spirit of the Normandy trip... that would be more like it.

We returned from Cuba a few weeks ago.

enjoy the cigars (&rum).  Bring your own beef.  Cuba is an interesting but in the end totally f’d up place.  It would be a fantastic learning experience

For fuck’s sake just win some meaningful football games.

But yeah these players should get paid.

We won a bunch of meaningful games this year. All these people who are like "8-4, but 6-6 is a real possibility, with a ceiling of 9-3 and floor of 4-8" before the season, now crapping on us at 10-2 with great wins over Wisconsin, Penn State, and MSU. GTFO this board.

Coach is making men. And these men are playing better football each year. And a big part of our success this year was maturation and team cohesion.

So these trips absolutely do help win games.

Never mind that they are very attractive to high school kids who have been counting on football their entire lives to get them out into the wide world.

The trips are great. Your comment is bad, and you should feel bad.

I would reconsider that Cuba trip. I was there 2 years ago and most of my travel party had food poisoning for a week.

A better idea would be a Pacific island like the Samoas or the Fijis...you know, better recruiting opportunities.

It was the worst post-trip experience ever...straight up sitting on the toilet for a week straight. The sort of thing that I think according to WebMD permanently damages your kidneys or whatever forever. But I think I'm OK now. Plz don't scare me further with factz.

I do have a nice cigar collection though :)

I just clicked on this to see how far I'd have to read before I saw the inevitable "Just beat osu" post. I was a little surprised it wasn't until the second page... (note: traveling to a foreign country and winning football games are not mutually exclusive.)

Yeah, because these trips do nothing to improve the education or experience of the students, or the maturation or cohesion of the team of athletes... /s

WTF is the matter with you people? These trips make better human beings; it's not like he's arranging team excursions to the tattoo parlor and the car dealership... is that what you want?

kind of disappointing... i thought Japan was on the docket, truly an amazing place.

I would consider seeing them in Brazil.

Can everyone agree: Dictators = bad, Communism = bad, Starving people = bad, Racism = bad, Educational overseas trips for college students = good?

Funny that, Beileins got a trip to Minneapolis in April lined up.

Not quite as exotic of course
