Teske!!! That was clutch!

Making dinner and watching Michigan handle Purdue is making for a nice early evening. I will put it that way.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
isolate iggy. he's been a non-factor for quite some time now
December 1st, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
Aaaaand, back to 20!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
Just kidding, Purdue.
You ain't winning this.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
Great ball movement and shot fake
December 1st, 2018 at 5:04 PM ^
Every time Purdue threatens they get it to 20 again.
I was doing some grumbling like the spoiled basketball man I am then boom/Teske'd.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
We can’t have these long dry spells every game if we want to be big 10 champs.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:18 PM ^
You mean like every game that they've won by at least 17?
December 1st, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
That was a fantastic steal by Simpson.
Beilein is pissed that Matthews didn't run down the clock, and he's right. Need to play smart at the end of games.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
Playing to the crowd.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
I counted it as an offensive rebound; I don’t know how it’ll be scored officially. Either way, it was a great play, and, yes, Matthews needs to pass up that shot.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
Teske’s like a tremendous trebuchet when he launches those threes. Terrific.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
+1 for alliteration, good sir
December 1st, 2018 at 5:08 PM ^
You sent me to the dictionary with that one! Nice analogy.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
So, when Izzo criticizes his players, they stare him down. When Beilein criticized Matthews at the start of the TV timeout — Matthews smiled and agreed with his coach.
I don’t know if it’s about selecting coachable players or if it’s the coaching style itself, but the difference is stark.
I don’t know that Purdue has enough time to score 18 more points. This defense has been unrelenting.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
Izzo does it EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Beilein makes sure to get his point across when it's important
December 1st, 2018 at 5:19 PM ^
^^^this. JB constantly chirps at players, but he doesn't get in their face very often. izzo is all over his players all the time.
December 1st, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
Izzo yells and freaks out every play. Which was ok when they out athletes everyone and won on pure aggression and physicality. However, for shooters and skill pl players just makes you play tight.

Damnit Dakich
December 1st, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
This has been Teske's best game. So impressed!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
good foul shooting today
December 1st, 2018 at 5:12 PM ^
Listening to announcers polish Michigan knobs just feels so right. This needs to spread to the football program at some point!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:13 PM ^
The big difference between 2018 and every other Coach Beilein team is this: this Michigan team plays its own game and makes its opponents adjust to them.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:13 PM ^
Johns' first B1G point was a crazy bounce on that free throw. It's our day!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:13 PM ^
I guess Dakich is right but damn man
December 1st, 2018 at 5:14 PM ^
ANOTHER TOP 20 WIN BABY!!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:14 PM ^
Another double digit win over an excellent ranked opponent. What a fantastic start to this basketball season.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
Every single game this year +17 or more - DAMN!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
gonna be a fun season
December 1st, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
Damn we make people look BAD
December 1st, 2018 at 5:17 PM ^
This team is really damn good.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:20 PM ^
If there's any nitpicking in a 19-point win over a ranked B1G team with one of the best players in the conference, it's those multiple multiple-minute dry spells. Seemed like the lead ranged between 12 and 20 for the final 30 minutes of the game. The superb defense prevented Purdue from truly taking advantage of this, but this is obviously something they can't do in a close game against a team better than Purdue and hope to win. At least this gives Beilein something to work on so that the team won't get too big of a head after multiple blow outs.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:23 PM ^
I agree it’s something they need to work on — but Purdue is a top 4 team in the Big Ten. There aren’t many teams better than them on the schedule. (KenPom has only MSU and Wisconsin as being better).
December 1st, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
The difference is in years past we would hVe those dry spells, and teams would go on runs. This year when our offense hits a dry spell, the defense has stepped up and kept things in check. The dry spells make viewing less fun, but we really havent hurt our win chances when they happen.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:21 PM ^
So, Purdue gets 57 points on about 65 possessions or so; the second half ended up slower than the first. For comparison’s sake, their previous worst was 72 on 73 possessions vs. FSU.
Michigan’s #1 AdjD rating is going to improve. This is a damned good team.
Now they just need to avoid the trap game at Northwestern. In a way, it’s actually good that they had a couple of rocky offensive stretches. Beilein will have some teaching points; I just hope the team is receptive. When you’re decimating opponents on a regular basis, it’s easy to get complacent.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:39 PM ^
It's a long season, and there's bound to be a stinker or two. Just enjoying the beautiful play so far.
We are so fortunate to have Coach Beilein, and this team feels special.
No nits to pick today - that was a terrific performance by a wonderful team!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:49 PM ^
There are going to be nights we can't make a shot... but it might not matter with this defense.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:09 PM ^
This team will lose at some point. They will get tired. I know Beilein has the best conditioned team in the country especially when you look at the last two Big 10 tournament runs. I hope they can figure out how to develop the bench.
December 1st, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
Just to note, Purdue was averaging 83 ppg....we held them 26 below that.
December 1st, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
That was crazy -- time for some subs!
December 1st, 2018 at 5:45 PM ^
Edwards needed 21 shots to get to 19 points. Simpson better win DPOY in the Big Ten.
December 1st, 2018 at 9:30 PM ^
Love Teske, especially heading back to the bench during a timeout, his swagger is hilariously awesome. I love that Charles 3 point jumper is better. I love Iggy obviously. I love that Poole is shooting lights out. I love when Simpson doesn't shoot 3s. I love that we haven't even seen Livers near his best and we are still winning big. I love that Beilein is the best coach at Michigan right now period.
Love this team!!
GO BLUE!!
