Didn't watch the game live ; OSU thoughts ?

So far this season I couldn't catch ND or Penn State or this Indiana game. After ND game I was actually encouraged by our offense unlike many here (that's how shitty our O was last year) I saw light at the end of the tunnel. Well M has passed with flying colors so far.

Seeing highlights seems like we totally got into a shell in the red zone. I think it's a combo of saving plays and confidence in run game that it'll break for big. I am no expert but defense just seemed a bit off for whatever reason. Hope chase is ok. Need him. God forbid if he doesn't go, who is WDE? This is the reason I want 5-6 dlinemen in this class. Get Harrison . Get rushing DT and another WDE. Hope villain rehabs and contributes. Dline wins you close games.

What does the board think about The Game. I am personally getting M vs MSU vibe. M wears down OSU and repeats it's winning formula of running tough and leaning on it FTW. unlike a few (many?) Whose families go generations in this rivalry I was just an undergrad so my hate for OSU comes from learning about M football history, their regular beatings (I saw the final great M team in 2006 before graduating) , reading this blog and honestly now Urban Meyer. But hidden is also their "MSU like" ability to win close games. Take Maryland for example. I mean WTF. Seeing those highlights what are you doing Maryland. OSU just won't die. And I hate that. This air of inevitability Michigan has started developing this season. Indiana game - reading comments - was never in doubt. OSU kinda has had that under meyer. Nebraska game, and Maryland game (how can you let them win and drive with a minute to go!!!) .

Rambling aside, early thoughts on The Game.

My prediction : 34-28 Michigan wins

they are soft as hell. Their defense is putrid. Let’s roll these clowns in their house

maryland was giving the game to them in a nice wrapped box but they could only squeak bye. Ya let’s rumble you clowns

My hopes rest on JH and DB having schemed all year for this game and executing as well as last year, except with a better QB against a worse OSU team.

I fully expect the refs to shaft us again with lots of interference calls, and holds on their O lines that go uncalled.

I've developed total shell shock in regards to OSU.  I was feeling good the past few weeks, but after seeing how we played yesterday I get that old Han Solo "I got a bad feeling about this..."  I can't help but think somehow Urban keeps his unreal magic going and we lose by somewhere between 3-11 points....

If every single break over the last decade didn’t go against us I would feel a lot better.

We have the better team but I’ll believe it when I see it

OSU was on the ropes last week and very fortunately escaped.  Was surprised Canda went for 2 after Maryland scored OT touchdown easily and quickly on two simply running plays.  Prediction:  Michigan wins the game (no idea of score), because Michigan is the better, more disciplined, and better coached team this year.  Plus, Michigan will get a semi competent straight shake from the officials, though it is up to Michigan to take the officials out of the equation and the game.  Michigan is the B10 team with the best chance of getting a playoff bid.  Both teams will be hungry though, both teams have loads of talent, and the Shoe is a tough place to play. Fingers crossed, but also just don't think the B10 crew will steal another like they did in 16.

Michigan's offense is going to do to OSU's defense like they did to Wisconsin and PSU.  It'll be a slow death, punctuated with occasional outbursts of 20-30 yards.  But mostly it'll be 1-10 yard runs, moving the chains, accumulating rushing yards and ToP on the way to the end zone.  There won't be red zone stalls like we saw last night.  There will be a couple of 30-40 yards drives that stall out, though - normal stuff.  Patterson will get to play about 35-40 minutes of game time.  They'll score in the high 30's to mid 40's.  This has been a point-a-minute team all year, according to the average score and ToP stats.  That won't change here...

I can't envision a scenario where a one trick pony at QB will find a way to score more than 40 points in half the time with the ball than Michigan will have.

I watched the entire Osu Maryland game yesterday and can say that osu SUCKED.  They were so bad at football I couldn’t believe it. Just when I thought Maryland would get crushed like always they cam up with a huge drive. I’m pretty confident in our team.  They are really good. Knock on wood.

If Michigan gives up 28 I doubt we win.  Can't afford to go down early, need to come out and strike. The Defense has more than enough depth this season to prevent a late game meltdown.  Just need to get it done.

I saw a good bit of the OSU game. They baffle me...their level of play is all over the board...from one play to the next. If I were an OSU fan I would be exasperated...as a Michigan fan I would be very apprehensive.

Offensively they have outstanding play-makers who can take it to the house at any time. The OL seems to lack effort more than anything-they just don't sustain and finish. The lack of effort label applies to the defense too.

If OSU is mentally and emotionally committed in this game I think they have the personnel to win. But here, something seems to be missing. I have no idea what to expect from them.
