Who has been the best coach for Michigan this season?

I think Ed Warinner has done the best job coaching up the OL.

Washington and Jay Harbaugh have been great recruiting.

Still have to think Don Brown. The defense is incredible and has made our offense better. And then Warinner. The offensive line has been terrific this year. A big reason for our success.

Mostly I have to say Harbaugh. I was a believer when he first arrived and still am.

Go Blue!

Zordich and Mattison consistently deliver the best DB and DL group in the nation. Everyone will overlook them

Then there is Don Brown. The best DC in the nation

Warinner is awesome but this year it’s only the “most improved” award.  We all know that award.

And Coach Harbaugh for building the team.

If I had to choose, I would say it's a tie between Ed Warinner and Don Brown. And if I had to choose only one, I would say Ed Warinner because OL had been the weak link for the better part of the last decade, and none of the other OL coaches we went through during that time had much success in turning it around.

But honestly, this is like choosing the nicest car out of a lot full of Ferraris. You can't really go wrong.

I dont Keep up with recruiting, so I dont Know who is hauling in these beastly recruits, but have to give credit to McElwain/Hamilton as this offense doesn’t suck. We’ve had a 15 year history of sucking on that side of the ball and they stopped it.

As always, “All rise for the honorable Don Brown”

You can't sell anyone on this coaching staff short. They'll all done a phenomenal job. But I'd say the best coaching job has to go to Warriner.

That's not to say that I think Brown, Mattison, and all the defensive staff haven't been amazing this year. They have. But think about where the OL was last year. Where it's been for the last decade. Prior to 2018, any year that this team had a fighting chance to truly win something big, the OL held the team back. That is no longer the case. In fact, you can make the argument that the OL is starting to turn into a strength. None of that happens w/o Warriner. He had to not just teach new scheme, blocking techniques, etc. He had to re-teach these guys how to get their confidence back, which is arguably a much harder thing to do.

Second place probably goes to McElwain. Disregarding being young, the WRs just looked lost last year. Barely even part of the gameplan or making any impact on the game. Much of that was due to QB play, yes, but think about where they were last year to where they are now. Are they juggernauts? No, but they're a very good and reliable unit now, and have gotten better each week. Now that they get Tarik back, they're going to be even better. Watch out for these guys next Fall.

How hard do you guys think it will be to hang on to some of these guys. I cant imagine that very good programs will come offering millions of dollars to Don Brown and Warinner. Its hard to rebuild a program with so much turnover and particularly the offensive line needs to remain consistent because what Warinner is doing is working. I really hope Michigan pony's up the money the keep Brown in place because he is worth his weight in gold and everybody in the business knows it.
