What exactly is Marcus Ray’s problem?

I won’t link but apparently he is again ripping on Michigan on Rico Beards show. Is there a story to why he turned on UM? Does he share a bond with Rico because they are both overweight radio hacks now?

He's been overly critical of Michigan lately but he's also one of the more knowledgeable media analysis when it comes to evaluating who is good, who is a pretender, whose gonna beat who, etc. He's one of the few guys whose predictions are worth more than a coin toss. I wish he'd stop being such a prick because I really do appreciate and enjoy his insights.

"he is one of the more knowledgable"????  maybe so but I have yet to hear him explain anything.  All his chat is about going after it and making plays and toughness and back in the day when I was playing . . .  nope, no insight as far as I am concerned, at least none demonstrated.

He has no NFL stats so I don't want to hear about playing in the NFL.  I find it distasteful how often he plays the "I played" card when he gets shown up.

He's a never was who tried to turn being on the national title team into a radio career, and he thought being a Jay Mariotti style troll was the way to do it and screwed his whole deal up, so now he's just hoping to get a job at a Sparty station doing "HEY HE'S A WOLVERINE AND EVEN HE THINKS THEY SUCK" gimmick. It's the sports version of a particular gimmick you'll see where it's "HEY I'M A DEMOCRAT BUT DEMOCRATS ARE TERRIBLE" or "I'M A REPUBLICAN AND EVERYTHING REPUBLICANS HAVE STOOD FOR FOR 30 YEARS IS WRONG" deals in that world of punditry.

If you wanna drill down farther, there's a vocal segment of Carr-era players who act like Michigan didn't exist until the Carr era and still hate Harbaugh over the comments he made as Stanford coach, and they don't care about what the Bo players think about a former teammate who turned into one of the best coaches in the game. It's not everybody from the Carr era, but when you find an asshole former Michigan player, 9/10 they were a Carr era guy.

I usually would defend Marcus, especially last year because we were not that good and felt he was actually being honest with his commentary, while some fans were being sensitive to what he was saying. Yesterday, I changed my tune. He seems to really be hurt by the way the fan base has turned on him and seems to be lashing out by going way out if his way to discredit anything Michigan does.

I remember back in the middle of the Hoke tenure during one of their signing day shows that he was the host or something.  So I assume he had a job in the athletic department at some point.

And I assume him not getting on board with Jim and co is that he lost his job after the whole transition from Brandon/Hoke to Harbaugh/Hackett/Warde.

He's a petty piece of garbage, and somehow BTN is putting up with his stupidity.
