Nick Bosa Out Indefinitely after Surgery

Submitted by Adrian on

This changes things. I wonder what the return has been for other players with a similar injury. Does he come back before the Game?

Even if his back up is really good, it hurts their depth on the line.   This definitely hurts OSU's D.  I feel really bad for the kid but it sounds like this is the type of injury that he will fully recover from and this really won't hurt his draft stock.   He's still going to be a top 5-10 pick and he has a very bright future in the NFL.

Hopefully this doesn't influence his draft stock enough that he decides to come back to school next year.  Probably more likely that he decides to go to the NFL rather than risk further injuries.

It’s going to be tough for the sports media to keep ignoring the fact Chase Winovich has been the best weakside DE in the conference over ANY DE named Bosa.

if it truly was a sports hernia (which is not a comfortable feeling when they happen) it can be shorter than 6 weeks depending on the size of the tear and the location. I had two smaller separate tears repaired at one time in my football career that started to feel comfortable after about 3/4 weeks. if hes able to feel good and get running and explosive movements I dont think he will miss the game between Michigan and OSU

Won’t change the fact that they are the Big 10 favorites, but he’s their best defensive player by a mile. Like if we had lost Hurst last year.

Could seriously impact their postseason chances.

One thing I've learned about OSU over the past several years in Urban's tenure...they always replace them.  It doesn't matter who graduates, gets injured, or enters the draft.  I though losing Elliot and Joey Bosa would be big losses...nope didn't matter.  I thought losing Lewis, Elfein, Hubard, McMillan, Hooker, Lattimore, Baker, Worley, Ward, Conley, etc. would hurt...nope.  They always just reload.  They recruit at such a high level it just doesn't matter.  Yes, Bosa is a great player, but they have others.  Chase Young, Jonothan Cooper, Jason Cornell, etc. would start on a lot of other teams.   Heck, Tyler Friday was 4th on the depth chart before Bosa went down.  He'd probably be second on ours.

He’ll never play another snap of college football.

He’s THAT talented so anyone writing it off can shut it.

They will insert another highly-ranked end but the fall off will be steep. You can’t match his production.

Considering that we have yet to have a QB that is both healthy and experienced face OSU in the last decade . . . I have zero sympathy if he does not play against Michigan.
