Spieth
He’s been playing below average. I would be surprised if he does really well, but maybe he’ll snap out of it.
It's a major, so he will probably show up on the leaderboard Saturday. His game isn't where it needs to be to win it, but 3rd at the Masters this year, T9 at the Open Championship. And it seems like with him, if he has his putter on, anything can happen. We will see...

Agree on Spieth since it's a major. He hasn't been the same golfer though to me since he blew that lead at the Masters.
Speaking of the PGA, this is my least favorite major by a long way. There really isn't anything special about it, it's like a regular tournament except all the top guys play. The Masters has Augusta, the US Open is different because it's usually a brutal test, and the British is links golf and well, British. The PGA has nothing unique about it.

Yeah, get rid of the PGA and make the Players a major, imo.
Tiger because of nostalgia.
Less than 1% chance he wins. 50/50 to make the cut.
Oops here come all the Nostalgic Tiger defenders.... take the childhood emotion out of it guys lol.
I don't see Tiger winning, but I think 50/50 on making the cut is low considering he's been playing very solid lately.
Fair enough 65/35 making vs. missing. Fair?
August 9th, 2018 at 11:01 AM ^
After his first few holes, I think 50/50 is fair haha!
August 11th, 2018 at 7:12 PM ^
Those first few holes are the difference between him and the lead going into Sunday. He could very well take it, and I'm rooting for him to do so!
Lots of near misses, and still in good shape.
If he puts a round together, he may go 61-62 tomorrow

Didn’t win, but I’d say your assessment of the situation was off.
Just watched his drive on 1.
Nope.
IMO, in order of likelihood: 1) Patrick Reed, 2) Justin Thomas, 3) Justin Rose, 4) Dustin Johnson, 5) Rory Mcilroy
Sleeper - Bubba Watson
Ick, please no Patrick Reed.
I love P Reed. What’s your beef with him?
I know that a lot of people don't like him, but he has really serious game. I think he might have the best all around game on tour. He is going to win his share of majors.
Why don’t people like him? Weird.
Because he's an ass
How? Evidence?
Google how he doesn't associate with his family after they spent a ton of money on his golf training.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:02 AM ^
I know about the stuff with his family, that doesn’t mean anything to me. There are two sides to every story. The whole blood is thicker than water crap is overrated. If someone doesn’t treat you right, you don’t have to associate with them just because societal norms say You do.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:10 AM ^
He has a kind-of checkered past, man. It is not just the family stuff. He was kicked off the team and lost his scholarship at Georgia and was alleged to have cheated and stole personal items from teammates. He was mic'd up for a tournament a few years ago and called himself a rhymes with "jagot" after missing a putt. He has also made some comments about other players that did not sit well. I mean, nothing too outrageous, and I like his game a lot, but he has done things during his career to not make himself not the most popular guy on tour.

I can see why he’s controversial. I like it, it means he’s real. Calling himself something should have no bearing in what people think of him, in my opinion.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:28 AM ^
You're an idiot and no one likes you.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:35 AM ^
Why am I an idiot? As far as no one liking me. 1. Not true, your mom likes me a lot. 2. I don’t care who likes me and who doesn’t.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:52 AM ^
I can see why you might like Reed. Birds of a feather...
August 9th, 2018 at 11:01 AM ^
Flock together.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:37 AM ^
So as long as we’ve established you like amorality and homophobia...
August 9th, 2018 at 10:39 AM ^
Goodness. Homophobia? Goodness.
August 9th, 2018 at 11:16 AM ^
The word he said is homophobic. And you said you liked that he is “real”

Milo says hi.
August 9th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Stop for a second and realize you're getting worked up because a guy insulted himself. It makes no sense, just relax.
I think this is the major Rickie Fowler finally breaks through. He can go low and it is going to take a lot of birdies to win this one.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
That's who I'm pulling for. He's due.
FanDuel gave me a free entry into one of their tournament contests. I put in Fowler, Rose, Olesen, Leishman, Poulter and Cantlay. Rooting for one of those guys.
I like Rose.
I am an avid Tiger-watcher and he is clearly not into this. I would not be surprised if he withdraws. He can't hit his driver and this course requires it. He should just hit that driving iron and deal with long approaches. If he keeps hitting driver he will miss the cut by a mile.
Lol dude he’s through one hole. Withdraw? lol... pump the brakes.
He's not into it man. Tiger's body language is not difficult to read. He wants the hell off this golf course.
Believe me now?
No lol.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:02 AM ^
You laugh out loud a lot. That is kind of odd.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
Haha. Woods with the birdie on 3. Doesn’t sound like someone who’s out of it.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:14 AM ^
If he pours this in I will walk it back a little bit. I am not coming from a place of Tiger-hating. I love watching him play, but there are some days in the last five years where he is just a complete mess and never has a shot. His swing looks really stiff today and is doing everything extra deliberately. I could be wrong and I will admit it if I am, but he does not look right physically to me.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:20 AM ^
He hasn’t looked right to me in nearly 10years. Many say I’m a Tiger hater, when in fact I’m actually just a realist. He’ll never win another major, but he’s been playing solid.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:26 AM ^
I think he will win one more, almost certainly an Open Championship where he can get very favorable conditions to hit irons off the tee and still be in play. He cannot hit his driver, but you don't always need to at the Open. Tom Watson almost won it at 59 years old averaging 255 yards off the tee. I don't see him winning another major on a course like this though, and forget about US Opens. The Masters is a remote possibility just because he knows Augusta better than Allister McKenzie but they have made that course much much more demanding as well.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:41 AM ^
Fair points, he could get one, but I doubt it. He’s mentally ruined. I feel bad for him.
August 9th, 2018 at 10:58 AM ^
Feel bad for him? If he is mentally ruined it is likely heavily related to his own actions.
August 9th, 2018 at 11:02 AM ^
Ever heard of mercy? Forgiveness?
August 9th, 2018 at 11:03 AM ^
It is possible to feel badly for somebody who is suffering the consequences of their own actions.
I still think he may withdraw from this tournament.
