Indiana 63, Michigan 52
Stone-cold killer (via)
Yogi Ferrell (27 points, 7/8 3-pt) hit damn near everything, Indiana utilized Duke's blueprint to shut down Nik Stauskas (6 points, 1/6 FG), and the Hoosiers eventually pulled away in a brutal slog at Assembly Hall. We planned to record a podcast this afternoon; for everyone's sake, that is not happening, nor is any sort of instant recap. Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday.

But this game drove me nuts. Where was the close out on Yogi after the first 3 3 pointers! argh! i was sitting here throwing lent balls at the tv, because i cant afford to throw something that would break the tv!

I know the perimeter shots were not going down, but the thing that looked really different to me was that we were rarely scoring in transition. It seemed we were setting up from a half court offense more than normal.
I would assume a lot of that is because it was raining 3's on the other end.
Somebody may be able to show it wasn't statistically different from most games, but that's what it seemed like to me.

Nice for Yogi Ferrell that he only had to play at one end of the floor today. That makes it a lot easier to score 27 points and shoulder the entire offensive load for your team.

Michigan is now something like 5-36 against IU on the road in my lifetime.
Make it 5-37.

Great conclusion drawn from a sample of one.

What is that, our record in Bloomington? It's not our record in Ann Arbor, I know that - we beat them at Crisler in 2010, 2011, and 2012, before losing by 1 point last year. Is that a pattern of futility?

Nope. I graduated awhile ago. That's some awesome patronizing on your part, but as noted above, we've won three of the last four in Crisler against them (and were a layup away from making it four straight).

I'll be honest, I turned off the tv after the first few minutes of the game. I could tell it was going to be a low scoring, ugly game. IU's plan on offense was to pass the ball around for 25 seconds, then look for a shot. I have no idea what Michigan's plan was, but it didn't seem to involve much movement or passion.

Every year, every decade is the same thing. This isn't the first time an unranked Indiana squad has beaten us in that building. The script never changes. If we were ranked #1 and Indiana was winless on the season, I would STILL predict a loss for us at Assembly.
The refs will always suck but I blame it more on the Michigan factor. Indiana will go back to sucking again now that they're done with us.

Yep. Glad I didn't watch. I never watch games at Assembly. Watching 5 vs 8 isn't fun. Have nothing against the Hoosiers, but when they are playing a home game with that unfair advantage, fuck em and their lame home cooking.

Indiana played as well as they could possibly play. Michigan played as badly as they could possibly play. Michigan wins at Crisler by 20.

Saw this coming a mile away...classic letdown game.
Anyway, could be one of those good losses that gets the team back on track.

So, one bad game on the road. I din't think we would win the B1G this season but we still have a great chance to win the conference. We'll beat IU at home, all we need to do is shoot better!

Crappy game, but I can't get too upset when we're still 8-1 and tied for first. Entering Gauntlet #1, everyone would have gladly taken that.

100% agree. And I cant complain one bit about the officiating - for every Yogi flog we seemed to get one back. Probably the most balanced game I've seen there to be honest.
We just didnt have it yesterday and predictably, they did. As they always, always, ALWAYS do against us at home. Our road basketball jerseys have the same effect on IU as our road football jerseys do at OSU & MSU.
