This loss is on the muffed punt and very poor Defense for Ohio. And they could have been blown out if Clemson did make such big batch of moronic plays/ penalties. Was Dantonio a good coach at 7-6 with a thin young inexperienced porous line last year?

coaches" thread.

Some of us look at the young talent on this team and think we will be improved next year and much better in 2 years. Of course we would have liked to win this year. It didn't happen. We can still be happy when our biggest rival loses. I still support Michigan.

I'm not certain we have all the right coaches, but I am certain Brady Hoke deserves time to let the athletes he recruited develop using the coaches he believes in and yes I do think they are developing.

just didn't get it done. On the other hand, I couldn't understand the hoopla surrounding the Buckeyes and getting into the NC game had they beaten MSU, the best defensive team in the country, even without their starting MLB in the Rose Bowl. We'll see Monday night about FSU, which is the real deal on both sides of the ball.

The fact is, there is no regional difference in game, except speed in the trenches. There are great athletes at every level of CFB in every conference. So, I don't buy that one conference is better than others, especially when you consider that SEC power is concentrated in two states, Alabama and Louisiana.  You could say the same about every region and conference power base.

Oklahoma rolls the Tide and its fans claim the team wasn't interested in winning the Sugar Bowl because it lost its title shot to Auburn.

The game is about passion and will, chemistry and execution. And the team that best executes under pressure wins.

Er, sucked this year, but ohio hasn't played but two ranked teams in the last two years, and lost to them both. They deserve all the crap they get for their pussy schedule.

So, meltdowns can sometimes be kind of funny when they are somewhat internal. It is the personal crap that crosses the line, especially with Twitter, or worse, Facebook.

Here's text of a twitter from Bradley Roby (don't know how to embed.)

The fact that people tweeting at me sayin all this negativity is crazy to me. It makes me ashamed to even have played for y'all

Apparently, plenty of Ohio fans have been lashing out at Roby for not playing, and also at Philly Brown (muffing the punt). Pretty ugly stuff.

This is one of those Meta topics of Brian, but it is always worth remembering:
  • Don't EVER have personal contact with a player Michigan is recruiting, or for that matter, ANY player. Twitter, Facebook, emails, letters, JUST DON'T DO IT. Obviously, if you are the same age, and go to the same high school, or have the same set of friends, the rules change a little bit. But not a lot. My 20 year old doesn't randomly contact other 20 year olds, and doesn't like being contacted by unknown other 20 year olds.
  • Don't EVER put something disparaging and insulting about recruits or players on the board. They read the board, or their friends or parents do. When you are a jerk, it will come back to haunt you.
  • Avoid putting really insulting stuff about other posters, even fans of other schools, up on the board. I guess when other people have put stupid stuff up, they deserve to be publicly mocked in a schadenfruede sort of way.
  • Some of the "fire Borges, fire Hoke, fire Jackson, fire Funk, Brandon sucks" stuff really veers into the personal in an uncomfortable way. It is true that they're adults, and they get paid enough and are mature enough to deal with it. But man, I've been tempted to catalogue some of the way over the top negativity from some of you for next year, in order to see some of y'all eat crow when Michigan improves a lot in the coming season.

when we have no accomplishments of our own to celebrate. For myself, I don't usually revel in OSU losses except when they play us, and would consider a 1-win season with a win over them to be something other than the nadir of our program. To that end, if we were to taunt OSU, the only comeback they'd need is "at least a thousand days will pass before we lose to you" ...
