Jabrill Peppers "100 percent going Blue"
Per Sam Webb, via Detroit News article http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20131217/SPORTS0201/131217001/1131/sports0201/Report-Michigan-recruit-Jabrill-Peppers-says-he-s-100-percent-going-Blue-
Seems like he talked to Brandon and received some assurances. If I recall correctly, Brandon talked with Drake Harris not long ago and assuaged some that recruit's concerns. In any case, great news and the most positive affirmation that Peppers will be in the class.

everyone can stop with the running around screaming and panic now

what?!?! panic and run around screaming is an mgoblog tradition.

Well, that will dry up 97.8% of the comments on this board.

Until he signs his letter, I'm still skeptical.

TomVH and Mike Farrell both declared the same thing yesterday. It's in the monday recruiting post. Sounds like the drama is all the way over.

that Hoke's job was in jeopardy. While I suppose Jabrill could have picked up the notion from social media and internet posting boards, I doubt he would give any credence to message board rantings by the fire-Hoke contingent. It probably came from coaches at other schools.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:15 AM ^
I can't see where he could get it from anywhere else.

December 17th, 2013 at 11:25 AM ^
Hardly. All I was wondering about was who was doing the negative recruiting.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:09 PM ^
Yeah I'm curious about that as well. Always fun to find out who the a$$holes are.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:30 AM ^
was Brady Hoke to the NFL so I think this will always be an issue.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:16 AM ^
that more of the interview will be available on GoBlueWolverine.com later today, so it's possible he did ask that question. I'd also be very curious as to the answer.

Just to add a little to this, for those that want to hear the radio interview with Peppers on WTKA (which was recorded yesterday but only aired this morning), it is the second one up on this listing -

if we had a 10-2 record there would be no talk of anybody getting fired so I am not sure you can draw that conclusion.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:23 AM ^
It's not unreasonable to speculate that's the real situation, but don't make it sound like it's an established fact. Unless you can point to a specific statement that Jabrill made, that's simply your opinion.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:31 AM ^
On the radio interview, Jabrill talked specifically about adjusting to different coaches and Hoke's job security being an issue.
And if he was wavering because we were 7-5, what caused him to change his mind? Did we get the record changed?

the NCAA has now ruled Akron a loss because "you cannot be serious" and our final record is now 6-6. I have to say that I kind of agree with their decision.

"With the rumors about Coach Hoke possibly not being there I need to make sure that I have options and have seen other places." - Peppers

of that is actually Jabrill Peppers telling Hoke to "step it up." Based on almost beating OSU I would say that Hoke got the message.
December 17th, 2013 at 1:11 PM ^
We almost beat OSU because Hoke was motivated by the threat of losing Peppers. Makes perfect sense.

I don't think he really cared about the record this year as he thinks he is going to dramatically improve whatever deficiencies we have. I think it was the fear that Hoke was going to be terminated that gave him pause.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:52 AM ^
Yeah, I think he is quoted somewhere as saying "that's why it's called rebuilding" or something like this when asked a question about the season record.

I wish he wouldn't preface all his comments with "I think." "I think" significantly waters down the "100%" part. If he was really 100% sure, he'd say "I'm staying Blue" instead of "I think I'm going to stay true and Go Blue." That's more of a lukewarm sentiment than a commitment.

Are we sure the good Michigan news moratorium is over? We should check with the gods before we take this as fact.
