Fitz's mouth picking up where Hart's left off...except without the wins

I fail to see where he is insulting them.  I see where he is explaining where the nickname came from and how it bothers them.

As a former over-user of the Little Brother meme, I'm over it, and have been since I vowed to stop using it after our 4th straight loss to MSU in '11.  Here's a suggestion to Fitz for Saturday: Less running with your mouth, more running with your legs.

Get in their heads but back it up on the field.  Show them why homie!!

So what? People take this stuff way too seriously.

Besides, no matter what anyone associated with the University of Michigan says, MSU will find a way to spin it into an insult.

If Fitz had said MSU were "a bunch of pretty cool dudes," they would take that to mean he thinks they are cold, frigid, and incapable of love.

These kids should just shutup and play football.  Why belittle the opponent?  That's not being a "Michigan Man".

Show some base respect, otherwise the victory over the oppoent, whether by 12-10 or 42-0 just rings hollow.  You just succeed in dimishing your own damn accomplishment.If Michigan beats MSU on Saturday, then it will be a great win, not a small feat.

Fitz plays for the University of Michigan, not the University of Miami.

attitude about the postgame stuff in 2011, but I understand the chippy nature of the little brother comment, it combines the historical dominance Michigan  has over MSU and the attitude that record has developed over time. 

I do think that Dantonio has changed the mindset about the rivalry in EL and he has certainly made this game a reference point for the program, regardless of how Michigan perceives it. And this comes from a guy who came from Ohio and understood how that rivalry resonates beyond comparison. But in coming from that background, he brings the same intensity to his team in wanting to beat Michigan. 

And that attitude is now reflected in the way Sparty carries itself on the field. And I think Michigan was bullied in 2011 and I think there is a difference atmosphere about this rivalry in EL than in Ann Arbor, just as I think that there is a difference in the atmosphere between Ann Arbor and Columbus when it is the stie for The Game. 

Make no mistake, however, this is the season for both teams. This game is bigger than playing Ohio, because of the championship stakes involved. I want Michigan to play poised, confident and feisty on Saturday. Take no shit from these guys. And I think Fitz is projecting that attitude. And you know it's coming from Dantonio and Sparty. So why hide it?

This was taken out of context. Its bullshit how reporters fish for quotes and then the headlines are even more misleading.

With his running because he's becoming an after thought on the field. If Green doesn't get close to a 100 carries this year it was a wasted year for us and for him. Green is the future and hell he may be the now from what has been going on. Lets just hope our boys show up this week.

The players on both sides aren't going to be more or less motivated for this game than they already are, regardless of how the media leads gullible fans to interpret a rather innocuous statement.

I feel like this is one of those times where Michigan already has embarrassed themselves with the sky writing debacle and this doesn't help. Just say "yeah this is a big rivalry game for us, etc etc" and give cookie cutter answers and leave the trash talk to State. The focus should be on winning and further erasing that 4 game losing streak, I'm sick of this little brother junk. I didn't like it when Hart did it either.

I don't mind this. MSU is a rival even if they're not our biggest rival. I don't get all the politically correct b.s.  This is college football not a work conference.

I think a great deal of the above posters need to re-evaluate what they consider "embarrassing." And the potshots at Fitz are just crass. Grow up.

This falls under the category of "I can't even find a reason to look for a shit to give."

Talking about this of course. The alleged UM fans calling in right now are driving me crazy!! Be constructively critical if you must, but downright disparaging the team and its players to Mike Valenti is unacceptable.

If fitz could run and produce a victory this would be fine... but since he probably won't I'm not a fan of him running his mouth.

But if he wins saturday I will be the first to forget I ever wrote this and call him the greatest running back ever!
