Mid Afternoon Games Thread
SDSU @ OSU is the big game here. Oregon is currently in the first quarter at Virginia, as is Buffalo at Baylor. South Carolina v. Georgia kicks off at 4:30.
Miller is currently being attended to on the field, still early in the first quarter, 0-0 with OSU inside the red zone after a punt.

OSU has Va Tech, Oklahoma, TCU, Oregon, and Texas as their key non conf game over the next 10 years. I'd like to have a slate like that myself. We counter with Utah, Arkansas, and Va Tech over next 6.

I cringed so hard when I heard that. Could Spielman be ANYmore of a homer?!?
September 7th, 2013 at 4:25 PM ^
Spielman's good when he's not calling OSU but he's appallingly bad when he calls them. It's like listening to a local radio broadcast.

Whether he is insightful or not his voice alone annoys the shit out of me.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:40 PM ^
Agreed.

Not the Spartan-dawgs (lol) but the real DAWGS! UGA BY 10!

Oregon is getting a cool 13.7 yards per carry on the ground right now in Charlottesville. If the trend holds, they'd be in danger of putting up 600-700 yards on Virginia and doing very little of it in the air.
Meanwhile, back in East Lansing, USF has managed to get to the MSU 32 or so. Time for their drive to implode somehow, speaking of trends.....and there it is, Evald is sacked and then they go for it on 4th and 5. Spartans ball.

CMU threatens to make M's win look less impressive. Losing 13-0 to New Hampshire.

Also how long does he have to be stopped? Is it a 'count'? I would have flagged them twice so far this game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:26 PM ^
It's supposed to be a full second. Urban's teams have gotten away with that since Florida.

Guiton is also moving forward half the time before the ball is snapped.

No, Johnson

Guiton has the exact same touchdown celebration as Denard

He's a better thrower.
He could be starting at a lot of major programs if he wasn't at Ohio State.

Touchdown Gawga
7-3 Dawgs. Nice opening drive for them.

I walked away for a moment only to come back and realize that ESPNU had thoughtgully dumped me into the Toledo-Mizzou game. The only takeaway I have from this so far, from what they have talked about, is that Jeremiah Detmer is a great field goal kicker and Maty Mauk somehow managed to erase a good chunk of Mizzou's rushing yardage.

Onsides kick too. Surprise
September 7th, 2013 at 4:54 PM ^
Holy onside kick...

A 17 point favorite over 'Cuse? Did I see that right?

Holy stop dropping the ball Georgia recievers...
4th down conversion though! 1st and goal now Georgia...
September 7th, 2013 at 4:58 PM ^
Damn big catch on 4th and long for UGA
September 7th, 2013 at 4:59 PM ^
Has Clowney done anything of note in this game yet?
September 7th, 2013 at 5:02 PM ^
Nope...Think he was dragging ass again on their opening drive (which, not long ago). Georgia would be smart to utilize the uptempo of which they've done, finding out whether last week was a 'fluke" for Clowney and co. of if they really are out of shape. It very well be the latter.
September 7th, 2013 at 5:07 PM ^
ESPN keeps telling us that he is in the best shape of his life. Lol.
