OSU went for 2 against Buffalo? That's just sad. Urban is a dick.

I'm surprised that OSU would waste a 2-pt play on Buffalo, but I guess that's Meyer's mindset right now.

Running up the score to make up for them scheduling one of the weakest non conference schedules.

See, I don't think we'll have any take on their offense this week. Buffalo is profoundly overmatched defensively; this is like one of those games where a Texas Tech QB throws for a billion yards against a SWAC team.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
Man, that corner was burned by Buffalo. I know they're playing younger starters, but that looked easy.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
Galloway is a turrrrible color guy. "Got to give your defense a chance to rest after that drive." It lasted 4 plays!
August 31st, 2013 at 12:24 PM ^
Why is Buffalo even punting?
August 31st, 2013 at 12:25 PM ^
Buffalo is horrible.

August 31st, 2013 at 12:28 PM ^
The announcers in the Wiscy-UMass game just said Wisconsin's playcall is vintage Big 10/Wisconsin football. Considering that means a mediocre team beating the crap out of a cupcake, I'm not sure how proud I'd be.

Scoring more points than you would have by kicking an extra point, extending the lead, etc.

Meyer is a prick. There is no excuse for going for two, twice in a row, on game that you completely control.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:31 PM ^
I just don't get the 2-point conversion calls. I mean, at some point you are just trying to act tough about being able to score against a horrible MAC team. I mean, Alabama could go for 2 every time if they wanted to as well; they don't because they don't have anything to prove. It feels like Meyer thinks he needs to win every game by 50 points because everyone knows how crappy this schedule is and how they'll be perceived competing for a title.

Nice of OSU to schedule up this season...
August 31st, 2013 at 12:31 PM ^
going for 2 pts again, can you say douche" I mean do you really need to do this to Beefalo?
August 31st, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Urban sure knows how to play the political end of the college poll game. Most folks are only going to look at the score anyway and he's going to make sure it's as high as possible.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:34 PM ^
But people will also look at the competition. At some point, anyone with a pulse knows Buffalo is turrible and that dropping lots of points on them doesn't mean anything.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:34 PM ^
I didn't see the need for that.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:37 PM ^
Did you see a need for the first one?
August 31st, 2013 at 12:49 PM ^
First score in a new season. I have no issue with it.

I agree to an extent, but everyone knows Buffalo is no match for OSU. Running up the score is just dumb.

gonna have to wait a little longer to go for 2 pts again Uban Asshole!
August 31st, 2013 at 12:36 PM ^
2 every single time this year, and urban thnks that mathematically it will work in his favor over the long run
August 31st, 2013 at 12:37 PM ^
Did anyone else notice that OSU's kickoff formation is weird? The coverage team is lining up very close to the kicker. Buffalo seems to have a very hard time blocking anybody to set up a return (although that could just be the caliber of the competition).

kinda funny watching Braxton try to show he can be a pocket passer against an inferior opponent.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:42 PM ^
Sad for Buffalo. The Buffalo football players were staying at the hotel I had my wedding for their football camp. I told a few of their players to beat the Buckeyes. They seemed really excited and hopeful.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:44 PM ^
How is the 'pocket' defined? If the guy scrambles around, but stays between the tackles, is he considered 'out' of the pocket?
August 31st, 2013 at 12:45 PM ^
I think once he "breaks" the pocket, he shouldn't be able to get back into it. But it feels like the enforcement varies based on if you left the pocket or not.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:52 PM ^
Maybe Miller left the pocket there - it seemed close. Just curious about the definition of 'pocket', generally.

Tuning in late because I am working for the next few hours, but I take it Ohio State is running 2-point conversions at the end of TD drives because they can against Buffalo.
Braxton Miller is 7/7 for 103 yards passing, and is averaging 14 YPC right now. I am sure Ohio State fans will take this as validation of something, but it's difficult to get much validation from playing and mauling Buffalo, I would think.
August 31st, 2013 at 12:50 PM ^
Every mediocre throwing QB has a couple of games like this where the coaches use overmatched squads to show the guy can pass as well as run. I hate to say it, Denard had a couple of those games too, though certainly not to this extent. But Miller still doesn't look that good throwing the ball; it just is really easy when the WR is 10 yards open.

damn...Joey see's no fault in anything the bucks do. At least Speilman would occasionally find something to correct.
