OT-4* recruit (non Michigan) posting really dumb things
"Its real out here ya heard me"
WTF does that even mean?!? What is "real" out there? And , no, I did not heard ya - you communicated non-verbally, you idiot. Put that money away and march yourself right up to your room. You're grounded!
#getoffmylawn
And NO allowance this week!
Oh wait....
It has been suggested that one must himself be "real" in order to appreciate other forms of "real."
Comment of the year
...but a good number of osu boosters.
"Here, mow my lawn...for $300"
Only if by "mow my lawn" you mean "sign your name on this replica jersey I am holding."
/get off my lawn?
Good way to get robbed
No one knows whose money that is and if it's the kid's, who cares? Maybe he has a part time job and has saved all of his earnings? Maybe his parents give him money, which isn't a violation. This is not a big deal unless they can prove he has received improper benefits.
Is possessing currency a violation, now?
It's immature of him to post this, but I'd say that's about as far as this goes. His face doesn't even appear in this photo. A kid immature enough to brag about a few thousand dollars is probably immature enough to fabricate it too.
Have you met my friend Occam? He has some thoughts on this subject.
You're suggesting the most likely explanation is that a school bribed him? That Occam's Razor suggests the most likely explanation of a kid possessing money is that he's been bribed? Are you truly fucking serious? You're either disingenuous, unclear in what you mean, or ignorant of what "Occam's Razor" is.
This thread, and the comments there-in is a perfect proof of your own "Don't follow recruits" policy. Because it makes people say and do dumb shit.
...is that "he fabricated this picture" is a really, really unlikely interpretation of this situation. What, he took a picture of someone ELSE's lap and stack of thousands of dollars? He found something on Google Image and assumed no one would notice?
I think fabricating the picture is roughly as likely as "he took an illicit bribe, then announced it to the world".
Where's your Occam's Razor assault on everyone else?
He's a high school kid. He likely has a part-time job and no expenses, so he decided to pull some cash out to show off to his friends. I don't think this qualifies as "fabrication," and I believe that term was the subject of BiSB's objection. He wasn't implying that a bribe was the simplest explanation.
Of that picture:
- Dude just closed an old savings account, and they gave him cash.
- Dude received cash from a school
- Dude received a 'gift' from a booster
- Dude mows a bunch of lawns
- Dude's parents happen to have a bunch of cash, and he was having fun
All are plausible. I have no way to know which is the correct one. But the "how do we know this isn't the Matrix, and that the picture isn't real?" explanation struck me as particularly ridiculous.
I agree my explanation is unlikely. I guess we are of two different minds of how likely "I decided to broadcast my bribe" is.
But I think the reaction (at least for me) is one part "that's pretty shady" and three parts "holy terrible judgment, kid."
Besides, you keep calling this a "bribe," implying some sort of criminal activity. A better phrasing of the nefarious interpretation would probably be a "gift'; something that would seem completely okay and innocent in most circumstances, like an employer or family friend or whomever hooking this kid up with some spending money, that becomes a problem only because he's really good at running and jumping and catching.
Isn't it simpler to assume that he's just a kid being a dumbass? I mean that looks like 2000 there maybe. It's not exactly a mindblowing amount of money.
He probably just decided to cash out his bank account and look cool.
Third'd.
Fourth-ed. But the takeaway from this story is: Stupid is a stupid does. (i.e. He stupid.)
I decided I made my point elsewhere, and there's no reason to belabor it. Instead, here's a video of guys trying to throw rocks with their left hand.
This is beautiful.
of this comparison...
I'm not so sure you know what $2000 looks like. That pile of cash had more than 20 bills in it, and they all apear to be $100s.
It looks like his twitter account has since been deleted.
Just look at these nefarious bastards. I wonder how many securities laws they broke and how many bribes they dolled out. Thank God he's not my president.
in case it's not clear, this is sarcasm to show how absurd the logic of the OP is. Not trying to cross the politics line.

To be fair...Venture capitalists? Probably lots.
Touche.
It's spelled "touché."
He probally either deals or steals. Pretty simple.
... is a really, really, outrageously dumb interpretation.
Unless that is Da'Shawn Hand, Adoree Jackson, Leonard Fournette, or Malik McDowell. In that case, I agree.
Someone should call his coach regardless and make him run 40s until he yacks. Lesson learned. Stop trying to be like Manziel!
They look abnormally large to me, and oddly unwrinkled. Maybe KD is just a master photoshopper
He's probably just a counterfeiter...
It's the nail in the coffin for the english language.
Dolla, dolla bills y'all
because KD Cannon is a pretty kickass name!
