They did shoot 70% in the 2nd half against us.  Boo.

Ed: 70% is an exaggeration, most likely.  But I'm pretty sure they did go 10 or possibly more straight possessions with scoring each time.  Especially when we'd have a good defensive possession and Wisconsin would make a crap shot as the shot clock got down.

You're ripping on the guy who shot 6-21?  Wisconsin shot something like 15-450.  If anyone on Wisconsin had shot 6-21 they would have won.

i think wisconsin exists just to punish the big ten. they win games against big teams to ruin their seeding, then flame out in glorious fashion in the ncaa. they truly are satan's team.

I was cheering for the entire B1G and had everyone but Illinois winning their first round matchup in my bracket, so why do I feel so damn happy that Bo Ryan and Sideshow Bruiseawicz are going home?

Because they are a pox on college basketball.

I root for the B1G, generally speaking, to do well in post-season tourneys. But I never root for Wisky b-ball. Their style of play is completely unappealing to watch and one reason it isn't emulated more is their lack of NCAA tourney success. Thus, them losing in the 1st round is a good thing - more proof that their clutch & grab, bleed the clock style of play may work to get you top 5 finishes in league play (which is a credit to Bo Ryan's coaching skill), but it's too falliable in one & done scenarios. There is too little margin for error.

I am really tired of seeing teams that play like world-beaters against Michigan playing like crap against other teams.  Why didn't they play like this against Michigan?  Sometimes, it seems like nobody ever plays like this against Michigan. If this was football, at least Wiscy would have an excuse for losing to Ole Miss.

Wiscy has embarrassed the entire conference today.

Playing Michigan is like playing the Yankees. We're a school known traditionally for winning, being arrogant, getting a ton of media attention, and looking down our noses at everyone else. Most everyone who isn't a Yankee fan hates the Yankees, and gives the Yankees their best game when they get the chance. Same goes for Michigan.

Also pretty much every non-conference team that seemed like a quality win for Michigan is getting destroyed.  Pitt, NC State....I entirely expect K-State to get blown the fuck out.

It has also tempered my expectations for UM, outside of a couple nailbiter wins at home over OSU and MSU, we've got nothing on the resume to suggest we were every really worthy of that #1 ranking.

-1st off, you fucking suck and benefitted from horrendous B1G officiating

- you let the whole conference down so that an idiot like Barkley can talk crap

-watching your games is brutal

-you let a guy who shot 6-21 pump his chest and talk shit

-I hate your fucking team and fuck you to hell assholes for screwing up the B1G's standings and making our lives miserable while you suck against an SEC team, way to go

Gonzaga was close to being the 1st 1 seed to lose.

3 seed New Mexico is gone

4 seed KSU can't beat elite teams

5 seed Wisconsin is gone (not a bad thing at all - but could have beat OSU)

6 seed Arizona is probably now the best bet to knock them off

It's great to see a team that has caused us so much pain over the last few years crash and burn repeatedly in the Big Dance.

I had them in the Elite 8.  I literally thought this, I said "Well, Wisconsin generally sucks in the tournament, having been eliminated by a lower seed 4 out of the last 6 years, however, they did just roar through the Big Ten tournament.  I'll give them the benefit of the doubt."

New Bracket Rule #481:
If Wisconsin is matched with a lower seed, they lose.  Automatically.

That didn't look like a top 10 team out there....just like they didn't most of the season. I had KSU beating them anyway. IF they can win today, beating that abortion the Badgers call basketball in Kansas City shouldn't have been that tough. A couple of good games doesn't make you a great team.

I agree there might be a bit of an overstatement, but Wiscy never looked good this year outside of the Big 10 season.  It doesn't surprise me to see them stumble when their brand of "hard-nosed" defense struggled against a team that can get you in foul trouble.

They were much more of a run of the mill top 25 team rather than the season long top ten team he says they were. You see one bad loss; I see three good wins all season, and most of that is an apparent match up nightmare for Indiana.

Down in Austin, there is a relatively uncompetitive game between Pacific and Miami right now. Miami (YTM) is up 40-19 at the half now.

Pacific is flirting with the idea of 30% effective shooting (29.2%), and Miami is sitting at 51.8%.

The stat so far has been turnovers - Pacific has 8 of them, and Miami has only turned it over twice. Miami is also outrebounding Pacific by a significant margin too. Pacific has also given Miami 13 opportunities at the stripe too, so it is rather a holistic approach to losing at this point.

It was obvious, I thought, that of the big five in the Big Ten, we would be helped most by getting away from Big Ten officials and Wisconsin would be hurt the most.  Sparty and OSU can basically adapt and force their style on almost anyone, and Indiana is also helped, but less than us because in Big Ten games they can just dump it down to Zeller.

My round of 32 picks are ATROCIOUS, but I've only lost 2 Sweet 16 teams, one Elite 8 team (The fightin' Bo Ryans) and my final 4 is still intact. I'm grabbing at straws here. Someone tell me everything is going to be alright.

On the bright side, I am the only person in my paid pool of 15 people to pick Indiana to win it all. That alone could bring home the $$.
