The crap MSU fans chant at injured opposing football players (something like "Get up bitch") beats them both.

I concur. Overrated chant relegated to #2.

Too many sloppy, lazy possessions on both sides of the ball, but especially on offense. Too many times Burke and THJ dribbled into traffic with no clue. Too many disinterested defensive sequences. A seeming lack of focus down the stretch, allowing Bradley to claw their way back into the game. JB will no doubt let the guys know of his unhappiness with that level of play.
However, it's always tough to win on the road so any victory over a decent team in their house is a good one. This game felt like a B1G road game with Bradley's home crowd. Learn and move on to the next one!

I am kinda glad that we are having trouble here...I would rather we struggle away in the non-conference so we can learn how to fight at the end of the game. I don't want this team to learn how to finish games in the B1G schedule

Off day from THjr, but it's so nice to have other options besides Burke.
Sloppy game, many teaching moments for the coaches.

good road win against a team that showed up tonight.
December 1st, 2012 at 6:08 PM ^
It won't look that way, since we should've won by more. That team was good and lucky though, so the win was better than it looked. Then we started to play like shit. They still have a lot to learn from this win
December 1st, 2012 at 6:06 PM ^
That's the second consecutive poor close out of the game. We were up by 16 and they went on a 11-0 run. unacceptable

You need to update your signature for the Iowa win.

Stauskas can shoot

improve those two and we are world beaters. if it doesn't improve, we are going to lose some extremely frustrating games
December 1st, 2012 at 6:10 PM ^
I would be worried, but we basically play nobody for like the next month so I feel pretty good about everything getting straightened out for conference play.

Bradley has no real talent, and we just sleepwalked through this game. No intensity at all, matador defense. We won't do well in the Big Ten AT ALL with this kind of play. We have a very long way to go before we're a top 5 caliber team. The difference between us against Bradley and IU against a really good North Carolina team is a chasm.
December 1st, 2012 at 6:17 PM ^
Relax, brother.
IU played at home in a big-time game. This was us working out the kinks in a mid-major's arena. It was a solid if uninspired performance.
We have 3 quality wins against KemPom's #2 major conference schedule. We're fine.

Michigan dominated a team that is probably better than UNC (NC State) at home as well.
December 1st, 2012 at 6:13 PM ^
with some of the comments here that we need to keep running our offense instead of dribbling the clock down in order to take a desperate shot.
However, our studs played average at best, Bradley chucked up some ugly 3's and hit them and yet we never trailed or even were tied in this game. Learn from it and move on.
December 1st, 2012 at 6:15 PM ^
True, and is sure is a lot more fun to learn from a close win than a loss.

I'm glad this game was scheduled. To get the freshmen an idea of what playing on the road is like.
Just like how the NIT Season Tip-Off was great prep for the NCAA Tournament/B1G Tournament. Neutral site, high-stakes.
December 1st, 2012 at 6:28 PM ^
Exactly right. Even if they had lost (and I'm very glad they didnt) this game was way more valuable to the larger goals of winning the B1G and perhaps the whole thing, than pummelling Alabama Alcorn or some crap school like that at home.

Unless he gets injured down the road, it's burned.

Concerned about depth. After an off season of thinking that M could be 8-10 deep this season, it seems there are really only 6 consistent contributors, same as last season. I'm glad that LeVert is getting a shot. Where is Horford? I wish Spike could see a bit more time as well for the sake of Burke's legs, but I understand that one. I'm also glad to see Vogrich and Akunne getting fewer minutes.
If Bielfeldt continues to develop then things might be just fine, but I'm worried about the lack of contributing guard reserves.

I think it's to be expected after three straight tough games with a lot of hype to have a bit of a letdown when you travel to a MVC team. And if they just keep running the offense instead of going into grind it out mode, they win by double digits.
Interior defense is concerning though. That's been a repeated issue.

Stauskas was impressive: 22 pts on 8-15 shooting (4-5 for 3), 2-2 from the line, 3 rbs, 2 stls
Trey Burke had 16 pts, not so efficient shooting at 5-13 (1-5 for 3), hit all 5 FTs, 5 assts to 2 TOs, 3 rbs
Little Big Dog got us going early, finished with 13 pts on 4-6 (1-2 for 3), 4-5 from the line, 4 rbs, 2 assts
Jordan Morgan got a double-double, 10 pts & 10 rbs. 3-5 shooting, 4-6 from the line.
THjr only 9 pts on 4-9 (1-2 for 3), 0-1 from the line, 5 TOs (ugh!), 2 rbs, 2 assts, 2 blks, 1 stl
Here's my concern: with Stauskas starting, there's hardly any scoring off the bench. McGary and Biefeldt had 2 pts each. Nada from LeVert, Albrecht and Vogrich.
Only 13 turnovers? Seemed like more. THjr with 5, Burke, Morgan, and GRIII had 2, Stauskas and McGary 1 each.

People are getting a little too worked up about the last few minutes. Basketball's a game of runs. It's not like we were up 15 all game long. For most of the game, our lead was around 5-7 points. We happened to go on a spurt to go up 15 and they went on one, too. The final score was pretty indicative of how the game unfolded.
