(OT) The Look on Saban's Face
Not entirely OT w/ Bama being a UM opponent...
It was so sweet to see his face drop after that penalty. He was telling the ref how unfair the whole thing was. Don't worry, Nick Satan... live to play another day!
I just hope that this does not pave the way for ND to make it to the NCG; please let it be KSU & Oregon! An SEC-less NCG would be payback for last year's SEC vs. SEC!

Nebraska chose!
November 10th, 2012 at 7:21 PM ^
It does pave the way for ND. Our last hope is USC. Fight on.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
KSu and Oregon would go before ND and no game for ND is a guarenteed win. What sucks is it's nearly impossible to knock an SEC team out of the top 10.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
Miami losing to Virginia today will hurt KSU in the BCS standings. Also, Collin Klein better rise from the dead and play well.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:38 PM ^
It would also hurt ND. Plus Pitt losing to Unconn this week did some more damage to ND.

K-State plays Texas the last week of the year and Texas is better than USC. ND won't be jumping K-State without a lose.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:21 PM ^
November 10th, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
I doubt ND would jump KSU if they win tonight since a win against Boston College isn't as impressive as a win over TCU. The USC game will be their best chance to jump KSU, especially with Klein healthy and getting a good deal of Heisman buzz.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:41 PM ^
USC may well have 4 loses by that point in time. K-State gets to play a Texas team that will likely be ranked top 15 buy that point and ahead of USC. There is no chance ND will jump K-State unless they lose.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:22 PM ^
NO SEC IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!! YESSSS!!!!!! CELEBRATION!
November 10th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Not if ESPN can do something about it.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
I hope this is true.
But two of the other undefeateds (Oregon, ND, KSU) could definitely lose. And you know Bama will get in with 1 loss if that happens.
I think ND will lose to USC. Oregon and KSU look like they will win out. But if they don't we will likely see an SEC team in the NCG again.

November 10th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
You know what sounds better...ND not getting into the national title game because anything can happen on any given day.
Sorry, but with all the close calls and lucky bounces ND has gotten this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they hang around against Oregon and get 5 or 6 turnovers to pull out a 3 point win.
I would rather not have ND sniff a national title game where anything could happen. If OSU could beat ubeatable Miami in 02, ND could stun Oregon.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing. The guy always looks gloomy, but to see him go from Normal Saban Sourpuss mode to whatever that was… priceless!

November 10th, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
That lineman on the punt unit for 'Bama just lost his scholarship.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
Scary to think that Georgia and Florida are the next closest SEC teams to the undefeateds... and we can be sure that ESPN and the national media will try to plug them and push them into the NCG. The SEC is not-that-good, ESPN just continues to push them down our throat and insist that one SEC team beating another is justification of how talented the teams are.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:18 PM ^
Not as good as ESPN proclaims, perhaps. Good enough to win the last 6 title games when matched up against non SEC opponents however.
Alabama definitely looked like the best team we played this year. They were on a different planet than ND who we lost to by a touchdown after turning it over 6 times.
Sorry, but the talent is just deeper in the SEC right now, especially on the d-line and in the secondary. Other teams and conferences may be able to match the SEC at skill positions, but not in the trenches. Hopefully Hoke and Mattison will turn our top tier line recruits into such a force in the near future, but it seems that the bayou just breeds these 300lb beast that can run a 4.6 - 40.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
Looked like the right call, too. Johnny Football, as much as I hate the nickname, is damn good.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
I still get the feeling that Alabama wins out and gets a spot in the NC game, though I'm rooting against it.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:29 PM ^
November 10th, 2012 at 8:43 PM ^
I'm not convinced they don't get a bid after the SECCG since neither KSU or ND are capable of playing in a CCG.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
I would rather complain about ND trying to jump Kansas St. and Oregon than having another SEC championship! YAY!!!
November 10th, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
November 10th, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
this is irrelevant but did anyone see that "fumble" by penn state vs nebraska
November 10th, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
Three quality unbeatens lock the SEC out of the NC game this year. Root for Oregon, K-State, and yes, ND. I would prefer Oregon-ND but K-State-Oregon is also acceptable.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:36 PM ^
Under no circumstances am I rooting for ND to win out. No, no, no, no, no...
The way I see it, the only team who could beat Oregon this season just lost. Oregon will most likely win it all. But I don't even want to see ND in the MNC at all.
If anyone can pull off a miracle in a one-off game, it is the domers this season. And that is my worse case scenario for this football season, considering Ohio isn't elligible.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:49 PM ^
USC may rout ND but I am prepared to accept--nay, embrace--the alternative, as long as it means the SEC is out of the NCG for a change. I'd rather the Domers get embarrased on the biggest stage possible but I understand where you are coming from. I would personally prefer three unbeatens to two to eliminate all possibility of further political wrangling supporting certain one-loss teams over others.
Plus the B12 does not have a conference championship game this year which adds to the uncertainty and weakens KSU's resume.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:53 PM ^
It doesn't , but the Big 12 was very smart in the fact that they have games on championship weekend. K-State plays Texas while ND is sitting at home.

November 10th, 2012 at 8:54 PM ^
Did you feel that way in '06, that Michigan and Ohio State's resumes were weakened because there was no championship game?
The Big 12 plays a full round robin. Who should KSU have to play twice, and why?
November 10th, 2012 at 11:04 PM ^
for a NC season? A team that plays a 13th game before the bowl season has more tests in the field to showcase talent, and more opportunities to look weak and foolish. 12-0 would be an impressive feat in today's age of relative parity between power conferences, but 13-0 is a greater resume still, barring massive injuries to key players of course, in which case I as a voter would support a team with a more complete roster.
As for KSU, your final question is moot as 10-team conferences cannot hold championship games. But if I had to pick for 2012, I would pick the top two teams by tiebreaks in the conference (no divisions!).
November 11th, 2012 at 2:46 PM ^
Big 12 teams play nine conference games; other conferences (except the Pac 12) play eight. If the difference between 13-0 and 12-0 is an extra game against an FCS or Sun Belt team I don't see why that should sway anyone.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
November 10th, 2012 at 7:28 PM ^
That ND will have more of a chance to make it to the NC game. Why Bama, WHYYYYY?
November 10th, 2012 at 7:43 PM ^
I think if anything Alabama losing will widen the gape between Oregon/K-State in ND. Some voters will rank them 3rd I suspect.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:28 PM ^
If only I would have signed a couple MORE players, then this never would have happened...
