This WV offense is just insane. 35-24 WV going into the half...unless Baylor scores in the next 29 seconds, which is not unlikely.
September 29th, 2012 at 1:42 PM ^
And both defenses are insane too. Insanely bad. Good thing they play in the Big 12.
September 29th, 2012 at 1:43 PM ^
Well, I was joking, but....I mean....

So, Illinois just had a nice little "derp" moment regardless of whether or not this turns out to be a Penn State TD (which it shouldn't be, for Maudy was down at the 2, it seemed). 4th and Goal, INT, 99 yard return by Penn State for nearly a pick-six. Yes, Illini fans, your team just did that.
..and Penn State does the humane thing and tries for a field goal, which is then blocked - so ends the half. Yikes.

Baylor qb was past LOS

WVU defense = optional

This raises the question, how in the hell did WV not put up this much against Maryland? And how bad is Maryland that they couldn't put up more points?
September 29th, 2012 at 1:53 PM ^
just finished watching the 1st half of the WVU game. I'm not sure if you can call it exciting or awful.
September 29th, 2012 at 1:54 PM ^
...as well as studying the box score, and my only questions would be the following -
Why is it that I have trouble putting up these sorts of numbers in video games?
Is tackling just not a thing in the Big XII?
September 29th, 2012 at 1:53 PM ^
Including the 41 yard punt return, WVU has allowed SIX plays of 20+ yards in the first half.
September 29th, 2012 at 1:55 PM ^
So next question: how good is NW this year? They have actually beat BCS opponents...

...at the Minnesota-Iowa game are on the field and sidelines.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:04 PM ^
there are more good things to come! I guess the alternative is to go knock around in a GM cornfield. . .
September 29th, 2012 at 2:10 PM ^
Iowa, I swear, is the most bipolar team I know.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:11 PM ^
West Virginia and Baylor are playing every bit as bad a game as Michigan State and Eastern Michigan played last week. The Fox guys are trying to sell this as super football, but both teams are only playing about 50% of the game.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:13 PM ^
Well WVU is a top 10 team right now so there's an automatic perception that no matter what they do, it's good. And Baylor is ranked as well. And the average joe just seem to think that lots of points is good football.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:17 PM ^
We should be fair, they have survived a combined gauntlet of Marshall, James Madison, Maryland, SMU, Sam Houston State, and Louisiana Monroe.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:12 PM ^
Oh, man, this Indiana/NW game is getting good...
September 29th, 2012 at 2:14 PM ^
is that each team has actually been forced to punt.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
Penn State starts this drive at the 1 yard line, gets two, and after two incompletions, will punt, so nothing exciting there. That being said, McGloin is getting literally hours to throw because apparently the Illini defense is selling out against the idea that something will happen at all, never mind the specific play.

September 29th, 2012 at 2:18 PM ^
....and then Indiana goes back to being Indiana....
September 29th, 2012 at 2:20 PM ^
You need to make a "football move" which has no actual definition
September 29th, 2012 at 2:21 PM ^
Illinois gets cute and opens up the portion of the play book that didn't involve the pocket collapsing and Scheelhaase running for his life towards the edge. It is now 21-7 Penn State.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
...and then Northwestern goes back to geing Northwestern...
September 29th, 2012 at 2:28 PM ^
"Watch him....right there....*raises knee*.....NO, DON'T....SH*T!"
Illinois ball, turned over on downs despite McGloin's spirited recovery of the fumbled snap.

Baylor defense looks quite GERGish today

With 9-1/2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter he's 34 for 38 for 436 yards, 0 interceptions, 6 touchdowns.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
He's been tearing it up for sure. Assisted by the defense that let Washington put up like 50 last year.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
If they lose the game despite this, does he still get invited?
September 29th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
A field goal attempt, Baylor? Why not just forfeit now? Obviously, they missed it anyway. These teams are now a combined 0-3 on field goals. Train your sons to be kickers.
September 29th, 2012 at 2:41 PM ^
That was a nice play on the 2pt by Indiana
September 29th, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
There is a CRAY CX1000 making preliminary calculations of the offensive stats for WVU-Baylor as we speak. There is a guy with a watch calculator and a 3x5 card doing the same for defensive totals.

September 29th, 2012 at 2:55 PM ^
True, but he's been placing the thows perfectly all game no matter where the defender is. It's been quite impressive.

Illinois is this bad.

Illini got blown out by La Tech so I'm gonna go with them being terrible
September 29th, 2012 at 2:56 PM ^
Is it just me, or has Iowa abandoned the run out for fear of tempting AIRBHG? Weisman has about four carries in the second half while Iowa is trying to nurse a big lead.
