Laquon Treadwell wants to visit Auburn now
That guy should see a doctor about his neck mass. wtf.
Or a therapist about his being a huge douche
His mother dropped him on his throat. It's been like that ever since.
Its one thing to want to visit a school, for free, for a weekend. Quite another to travel there for the next 4 years.
Everything looks Michigan with Laquon right now, and until something changes on that front I don't see there being any place thats a better fit for him (depth chart, history, surrounding class etc)
I Think OK St. is going to suffer a sever fall off from last year.
They lose almost everyhting on offense, and its not like another 28 year old QB will be waiting.
Ahhhh I'm not so sure about that. I think they'll have a fall off, but I'm not so certain about the "severe" part. People down here still expect big things from them, and they have the coaching personnel to make that happen. Despite losing Weeden and Blackmon, they still have enough weapons to put points on the board even if it's not to 2011 levels. Their defense should be very solid this year as well.
I wouldn't expect another B12 championship, but I also wouldn't expect them to just go away. Their future is still bright, especially if they can bring in talent like Treadwell. Their recruiting has definitely spiked in the last few years.
state a reasonable opinion about the prospects of the Pokes on a sports blog!
I'm not sure Oklahoma St. is as big a threat as people are making them out to be, but I don't really know what this kid is thinking anymore.
He has every right to want to evaluate his options, but I just feel like if he knew Michigan was where he wanted to be, he would have committed by now. That is the part that makes me nervous.
...it seems to me he has to decide if he wants to play a role in what is in the best interest of his next TEAM or for his own personal ambitions. It's The Team, The Team, The Team around these parts.
Jordan Diamond award winner, come on down.
Rivals' confidence in him coming to Michigan has taken a significant hit, it seems (but not in a bad way if that makes sense).
I'm pretty sure it's called the Anthony Zettell award.
That is the good news portion of the Helmholdt story it seems.
With the guys we have so far, snagging any of those guys would be fine with me.
Just give us Bailey and McQuay and lets be done with it. 2014 here we go!
Are Bailey and Harris considered to be on the same level as far as recruits go? I see they both earned 4 stars at least. It may just be me, but looking at film of all 3 Bailey looks to be the best player. Is the MGoBoard understanding of the situation that it's a race between the 3 to one scholarship?
Not speaking with the Michigan coaches in a month defintely seems like a bad sign. Still I am going to try to stick to my signiture's message...
If he wants to be here great....if not, good luck to ya
After Levenberry, and now Treadwell, I'm willing to bet the coaches may be second-guessing the strategy of telling top recruits that we'll save a spot for them, especially given how quickly recruiting has been moving this year. Sure he's the best WR still on the board... sure he would be a huge boost to our offense... sure he would have an insanely productive career at Michigan, but if he doesn't want to be here... if he's not feeling it, then good luck to him.
I'm wondering if we already learned that lesson and thats why we offered Bailey and Stribling. Treadwell and Fuller...negative ghostrider the pattern is full.
Is his Dad going with him to Auburn? Something about Auburn and Dads seems troubling . . .
Pretty sure the coaches have told him that he has a spot if there is one left, but there leaving the ball in his court.
I like the WRs we have so far, and depending on where the chips fall with the DBs we are in on, Lewis could flip to WR as well.
The writing seemed to be on the wall a couple of weeks ago when he had a chance to commit and waited. I'd be happy if he came to UM, but if not then so be it. Will say, would like to close on one of these skill-position players sooner rather than later.
that Channing Stribling flips to WR? He's got the size(height) and his hands looked really good in his film.
Now there's a db spot for Kendall Fuller.
Yeah, I think either Stribling or Lewis could flip to WR if McQuay or Fuller decided to come here.
I think McQuay will end up a safety.
You're probably right, but I don't think that changes things a lot. He's one of our DB recruits who could be a CB or a safety - Stribling and maybe even Conley fall into that camp as well.
Affer hearing numerous interviews of UM recruits over the past two years, it sounds like the current Michigan staff keeps in heavy contact with guys they are still actively recruiting. So Laquon not hearing from the coaches for a month sure does sound like they've cooled on him. Very surprising if that's the case. Maybe they want a different type of WR for the last spot, a shifty slot type like Bailey or someone with elite speed like Allen.
One more case of "I'll just trust the coaches."
included Michigan in his top 7 recently. It looked like he'd been talking with Dawson and I think that's who Dawson was referring to with the whole "commit watch" a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know why the staff pulled his offer a while back and now why they've extended it again? It's highly unlikely I know.
The LS schollie is something I'll never understand especially when were still in on a lot of elite talent.
But more importantly, our coaches think its important to offer an LS, so I'm all in with that.
That's part of why they get paid the big bucks. I trust them completely and know they've already done a hell of a job. I realize other top programs are doing the same thing as well. I just can't make sense of it.
I agree with those that feel we might not be a great fit with Treadwell. He seems to really enjoy the recruitment process and the attention that comes with it and I don't blame him one bit. Most of us would likely act the same way but it just feels he's more the laquon, the laquon, the laquon than the team, the team, the team.
/s
on. This one is a no brainer.
Oh...he's not a good fit? And how did you come to this conclusion?
If he comes...great...
It's not like we don't have equivalent options who appear to really like us in Bailey and Harris.
