Joe Mathis Cancels Visit; still plans to take official to Michigan
Hey guys, talked to Joe Mathis a little bit ago who said he had to cancel out on this weekend due to personal reasons. He still plans on taking his official to Michigan. Disappointing as the coaches would have had a golden opportunity to make a good first impression.
EDIT: In case there were any questions, this includes his trip to Detroit for the Adidas Invitational
that's very disappointing. Getting him on campus early would've been so clutch. By the time he visits for his official, he'll have been to USC a good handful of times. Not as optimistic about him as I was an hour ago.
Both him and Cravens are going to be pretty tough to pry away from USC.
in my opinion. I think they lead for both Cravens and Mathis.
Really? That would be a major coup for Pellini if he can pull it off. His recruiting has been far from stellar since he got to Nebraska.
Can't make a new thread but on the plus side
VA DE Wyatt Teller is coming to visit this Friday.
What is better than having one Wyatt in a recruiting class?
Having a Robert Foster?
Awww hamburgers.
Buh.
have tried talking to some fish. Good to see you here aquaman.
Do we really want him as a part of the family. Just asking the question . . . Guys that want to "be a part of the family" are the guys we are looking for! Recruits consistently talk about the FAMILY!
What are you talking about?? We want him to want to be part of the family. His recruitment is far from over and you're already saying we don't want him because he doesn't want to "be a part of the family"? In that case, let's end recruiting right now, if you don't commit in the first few months it means you don't want to be a part of the family.
Mathis cancels a trip from across the country for which the primary purpose was not even a visit to Michigan and suddenly he "doesn't want to be part of the family"?? Furthermore he reiterates that he wants to come for an official visit. Just asking the question.... Are you on the drugs?
Just to reiterate what the other posters said - you made a dumb comment.
I'm not going to question a kid who cancels a visit on Easter weekend. Maybe his "personal reason" was his mom being pissed he was leaving town. Let's not cast judgement . . . yet.
Much like Cravens, Mathis seems very interested in Michigan. He referred to Michigan as "the capital of football" when I talked with him. He's also been quoted a couple times as saying he didn't want to go to a school because of the name or prestige; he wants to be wanted. Michigan has been recruiting him very hard and there's definitely mutual interest there. The fact that he cancelled this trip is not indicative at all of a lack of interest.
Thanks, Aquaman. You and Magnus add a lot to the convo.
Always appreciate your time and efforts.
Given the Michigan weather in April, probably better if he takes an official in the summer, or comes out to experience an actual game.
This is off subject, but did somebody decommitt???? 247 has only 15 listed today. Please inform me. Thanks!!!!
should only come in for the best game day experiences - ND, OSU, MSU. Having them come on random spring weekends does no good usually.
Most likely. Wonder what changed.
His mom is coming with him now?
