Sugar Bowl Ticket Info
The athletic department has sent out an email detailing ticket information for the Sugar Bowl.
Students: up to 8 tickets can be purchased for $97 a piece on mgoblue.com/tickets starting Monday, December 5 at 8:30 am on a first-come first-served basis.
General Public: $125 (Terrace), $145 (Plaza), $155 (Premium Terrace), $175 (Mezzanine Endzone) or $185 (Club) also on mgoblue.com/tickets
Deadline for ordering is Thursday, December 8th at 5pm. All information can be found here: http://www.mgoblue.com/tickets/fbl-bowl-tickets.html?hq_e=el&hq_m=234750&hq_l=2&hq_v=a58e077bf2
Edit: Here is the seating chart for the superdome. Appears that the blue area is either $125 or $155 depending on location. Red area $145. Yellow area endzone $145 or $175 sideline. That's at least my best guess, although it doesn't make that much sense.

Doesn't make much sense with how the seating is laid out at the Stadium...

But thanks for this link. I got my tickets in the mail, section 116 row 35, and it really shows what it'll look like. Maybe a little inside the 20, not too far down (just as I requested), and on the Good Guys side. Should be a great view.
December 5th, 2011 at 2:57 AM ^
I agree with you, from what I've seen, terrance sideline is pretty damn good. Club or Upper Box look to be the best, but I just bought my tickets and I'm less than 20 rows from Upper Box.
Three tickets for $175 each. Terrace 612, Row 25. It's visitors side (Michigan's side) too! The view:

I have a pair of tickets section 132 row 13 that I am selling. email me at [email protected].
December 4th, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
You already have tickets? And you are willing to sell them? This sounds too good to be true!
December 4th, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
Appears that he is a Sooner fan that bought tickets a little prematurely.

I have student tickets for $50, let me know. Text me 6312706201

It looks like the plaza seating (the 100s) is too low. I'm thinking club has to be the best seats. And any idea what yard line most of the mgoblue tickets are on?
December 5th, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
trust me. there's no bad seats in the superdome either. probably, in my experience, only beaten by Michigan stadium. fwiw, if anyone has a choice between low row upper terrace and something like club, take the low row terrace. best seats i had were 50 yd line row 1 upper deck. way better than tickets $200 more 20 feet below me.
December 5th, 2011 at 9:57 AM ^
Exactly what Geaux_Blue said.
I actually prefer sitting in the endzone to see things develop and the 600 level seats are not bad. I was at the Saints and Lions game last night (I have become a Saints fan but the Honolulu Blue was out in full effect) and for $50 per ticket you couldn't beat our view.

From what I've heard and similar events I've been to in NOLA, it is usually pretty easy to scalp tickets outside. My roommate is a VT grad so we'll be roadtripping down.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
but decided just to man up and buy off mgoblue. probably a bad.decision but o well.
December 5th, 2011 at 12:05 AM ^
is counterfeitting/go in and send your buddy back out with your used tix does happen (from experience). they always do major tv events warning about scalping, especially leading up to BCS. i'd suggest stubhubbing
December 4th, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
Any idea of how we can find out if we are H or V? Important info in ticket buyine process. So fkn excited. Have never been able to see a game, now they will be 3 hrs away. Hail To The Fkn Victors!!!!!
December 4th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
We're away I believe. Michigan is listed first in everything I've seen so far; home team is usually listed second. Also, I've heard that the higher ranked team is home.
Wish we were home so we could wear our Home jerseys instead of white...

where is pcola?
December 5th, 2011 at 12:05 AM ^
Pensacola, FL?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
like one of the official Michigan-Sugar bowl threads, so I have a question:
ESPN just posted an article (here) in which they write:
"Hoke said after the victory over Ohio State, which ended a school-record, seven-game losing streak in the storied series, that his team was deserving of a BCS bid."
I thought this was a lie...is there any truth to this remark?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
it was an indirect quote that Freep spun the next day as a plea for BCS and the rest of MSM took it as gospel. id provide link but I'm on android and don't know how
December 4th, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
Yes, Hoke said this. I remember seeing the interview but not sure where..
December 4th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
I heard him say that, but it was by no means a plea. He was asked if his team deserved a BCS bowl, and he said that they won 10 games in the Big Ten and that he thought that they probably deserved one.

Will student tickets require a student ID or can i bring nonstudent friends?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
You ought to be able to bring nonstudent friends. Last year there was no need to show MCard at the bowl site. The superdome wouldn't even know how to handle MCards.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:20 PM ^
At the SuperDome are very familiar with MCards
December 4th, 2011 at 10:36 PM ^
I took my non-student sister to the gator bowl last year using a student ticket and it was no problem.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
When you say "for others" does that just mean general public? Also, how fast will these tickets sell out?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
Yeah, I meant general public. Corrected to be more clear. I think as long as you buy before the deadline you should get tickets, but I would buy as early as possible to be sure.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
Awesome, thanks
December 4th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
Does anyone know where the student section is?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
Probably one of the lower corners. That's at least how it was for the Gator Bowl last year if I remember correctly. Not completely sure though.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
I hope we sell out our allotment and buy up a bunch of VT tickets as well.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
I just bought my tickets .I'm in the plaza I think. You can go onto the stadium website and see what the view looks like from certain section. That's how I pick my seats
December 4th, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
How did you get them so early? Ticket master is not coming up with anything and the Michigan website says they arent for sale yet?
December 4th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
I got them on stub hub
December 4th, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
Same here. Terrance sideline 612, Row 25.
December 4th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
with Terrance Sideline.
December 5th, 2011 at 2:57 AM ^
Small world, going to the game with him actually. True story.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:50 PM ^
The general public can purchase starting at 8:30 AM tomorrow? Did I read that right?
December 4th, 2011 at 10:59 PM ^
Yup, you read that correctly.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
check Heiko's transcript of Monday's press conference . The Detroit News refers to a comment Hoke made re BCS, but does not provide an exact quote.
December 5th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
but does anyone know if there's a general public allotment and a student ticket allotment? Basically, what I mean is, are student tickets separate from the general public? I know it's a stupid question, but I don't want them to run out too. Also, if I buy them at 8:30 tomorrow morning, am I guaranteed to get them? Sorry, I just don't want to be left in the cold here. Already told some friends we were going.
December 5th, 2011 at 12:39 AM ^
There is a student section at the bowl game, so yes, they are seperate from the general public. Basically, its a much better location for the price I think. Although I don't think they check m-cards so anyone should be able to use the student tickets once they are purchased.
The way they make it sound is that as long as you order by the deadline you should get tickets, but the earlier you buy, the better your tickets. Hope this helps.
December 5th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
I promised myself if Michigan went to a BCS bowl this year I would go and I am GOING! Can't wait!!!
December 5th, 2011 at 12:41 AM ^
I'm also super pumped! I'm gonna be back in Dallas over winter break too, so it's a pretty easy drive! Also, if you haven't been to nawlins before, it's a great city...couldn't have asked for a better location!!
December 5th, 2011 at 12:28 AM ^
Mgoblog sucks balls, lol
December 5th, 2011 at 12:58 AM ^
Will I be able to buy tickets and scalp on stubhub for a profit?
December 5th, 2011 at 4:33 AM ^
Was leaning toward buying tickets from the Sugar Bowl's website when Michigan was speculated to go to this bowl game. I wish I had!
