Which offense out there is completely immune to being stopped by well-coached teams with good athletes?
November 19th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
It is not unstoppable. No offense is unstoppable and any defense can be scored upon. My point is that the spread is no different than any other offense that has ever been used. It was not an attack on the offense itself, but a comment about the excessive fondness some have for it.

Really? You don't say. What a novel concept, I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

....and that punt is returned for -0.63 miles.
UPDATE: USC, my 4-year old has a question - "What happened, backfield?"
November 19th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
I'm kinda disappointed in the oregon uniforms tonight...I was looking for some neon action tonight..thanks a lot chip.
This game is also proving even through all the change in offenses over the eras....football is still won in the trenches. USC has been winning in the trenches and really slowing oregon down. Much like LSU and Auburn did.
Love the Dline we are bringing in this year.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
Boy, USC looks good tonight.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
It isn't so fun when you realize your defense is made of rice paper, no?
November 19th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
upset all the teams! I want bcs chaos.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
that increase how bcs's chances?
I agree with one of the above posters: I'm not so sure Luck is better than Barkley. And that's not meant as a knock on Luck.

He sort of caught it out of bounds. Emphasis on "sort of".
November 19th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
how do you blow that call officials?? He was out of bounds and juggled it the entire way. wow, pac 12 officials should be ashamed of this 1st half.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
Pushing Oregon to two losses would be huge. Stanford slips back into the Pac 10 championship game and eliminates the two-bids-from-Pac12 scenario.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
I couldn't help but lol at Kiffin's astonishment on the call. He had that wtf face when he asked the ref how they called that.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
That was almost a good drive. Almost.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
November 19th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
It wouldn't. If Oregon wins tonight or next week against Oregon State, they're in the PAC-12 title game against...a pretty bad team.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
I would nail Heather Cox.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
Wow, Baylor just answered OU's td, leads 17-10 late in 2nd quarter.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
Battle of the ages here....
Arizona versus Arizona State. I'll take Utah in this one.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:57 PM ^
and LSU is already taking a knee to avoid scoring.
Pushed too far, not running up the score stops being merciful and becomes insulting.
November 19th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
Perhaps there is more to Lane Kiffin than meets the eye. He's quietly turning in a pretty good season at the helm.

Wow I come back from listening to Michigan's hockey game and I see USC beating oregon 24-7. Anyone watching this tennessee-vandy game? There's a little over 2 left, vandy just got the ball back and it's tied 21-21. I hope vandy pulls it out and beats them. Because that would make tennessee 4-7. The less SEC teams in bowl season, the better.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
This is actually getting annoying. We could see 4 of the top 7 teams lose this weekend and get knocked out of the title hunt. That leaves LSU, Bama, and Arkansas as the top 3 teams. Get ready to hear all about the SEC this week!
November 19th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
November 19th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
I agree completely. I just die a little inside when I think about what it will be like to turn on ESPN at any point this next week because that will be all they talk about. Hopefully Auburn pulls out some magic in the Iron Bowl and LSU thrashes Arkansas. Then what?
November 19th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
We just got our best win since 2006 penn state, and have a legitimate shot at a bcs bowl in a season which few would have predicted it. Enjoy it.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
And all those losses mean Michigan may jump up more spots in the polls. A win next week and we could finish the regular season in the top 10.

Never. I also thought before the year that Nebraska was going to lay the wood to us. I'm very pleased to be wrong about that one.

vandy and tennessee going to overtime. usc goes up 31-14 on oregon. oklahoma and baylor tied at 17 in the 3rd. texas down 17-3 in the 3rd to k-state.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
OU starting to assert itself--leading Baylor 24-17.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
If Oklahoma fails to pull it out against Baylor, is there really even a point to a national championship game if LSU wins out? They will have wins against Bama, Arkansas, Oregon, and Georgia already. All four of those teams could very likely be top 10 teams. You are telling me if Bama pulls out a win they are somehow now the champions? I'd still consider LSU the best team.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
Yeah, but 'Bama would have just as good a schedule. I think the voters will try to not set up a rematch, but at some point it will be out of their hands. Is there an alternative to not Oklahoma/Oklahoma St? VA Tech vs LSU would be pretty not inspiring.
November 19th, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
Bama wouldn't have the Georgia or Oregon wins and also would have lost to LSU at home. They would be 2-1 against the top 10 with a home loss instead of 4-1 with a neutral loss. Again just my opinion, but I would still put my vote for LSU.
If Oklahoma wins tonight, I think the Bedlam winner still has a good chance at the national championship game with a strong showing against K St in the Big XII championship game. Other than that, though...Stanford would probably be #3 or 4 and as much as I would like to see Luck playing that LSU secondary I don't think Stanford should be there.
November 19th, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
Doesn't exist this year

Yes, and now another one to take the lead back. RGIII is nearly as dynamic a player as Robinson.
