OSU Game Time Set at 12
It looks like the OSU game is set to be played at noon, again. This is from looking at the schedule on Rivals. ESPN still hasn't updated their schedule yet.
Personally, I hate noon games. They're all right once in a while, but not every weekend. I don't remember every having this many noon games in 1 season before.
I tried to search the site to see if this has been posted before but the search function seems to be broken and I can't access anything beyond the 1st page of MGoBoard. Is that only me or is anyone else experiencing that too? I figured that I'm on here often enough that I'd remember if this has been posted before and I don't remember it being posted, so I went ahead and posted it. Apologies if it's already been posted.
If we don't beat OSU, I quit. I don't know from what, but I just quit.

Let's hope the alumns and general fanbase don't sell their tickets to OSU fans like in 2009. Let's hope they actually make some noise as well.
November 14th, 2011 at 6:05 PM ^
I came here to type this. Good work.
Also keep in mind this is Thanksgiving weekend. Many of my OSU friends (I'm sadly from Ohio) are not making the trip up this year. Either from unconfidence in their chances to win or family obligations with Thanksgiving.
I have noticed some students selling their OSU tickets, but many students will be back for the Game. I know personally of at least 4 kids who are skipping Thanksgiving with their families because Michigan doesn't give us Wednesday off and they don't want to pay $$ to fly home for 1 day.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
That's where last weekend's win was so big. A loss to Illinois might have started a "Here we go again" feeling among a lot of fans leading to a ticket selloff. Instead we go into this final homestand with confidence.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
definitely the best defensive game of the season - on the road too. The defensive momentum couldn't be swinging our way at a better time.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
More like let's hope they show up -- period. Since it's Thanksgiving weekend a ton of student tickets are being sold.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:29 PM ^
I think it's really unfortunate that OSU was pushed beyond Thanksgiving. Out-of-state students shouldn't have to choose between being home for the holiday and going to the game, but I guess that's going to be case from here on out.
November 14th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
As it should be.
November 14th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
I think Rivals just defaults to noon. The B1G hasn't put out its release yet that lists game times. I think its likely to be a noon game but nothing official yet.
November 14th, 2011 at 2:55 PM ^
I checked rivals yesterday and it was "TBA"
November 14th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
good. 3.5 less hours of anxiety that saturday
November 14th, 2011 at 2:55 PM ^
I'd be cool with it if it wasn't for the truly WTF move of making Nebraska a 12 game as well.
This is the old Michigan, where noon kickoffs at home were predetermined after Daylight Standard Time due to the lack of permanent lights. We have them now and they aren't even being used save for one game. Dumb.
November 14th, 2011 at 2:58 PM ^
I could be wrong, but aren't game times determined by TV networks?
November 14th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
has the game at noon

Since I started coaching my son's soccer games UM has lost two out of three noon ET games (MSU, IA - L; PU - W). The game (soccer) this week is scheduled for 11:30 ET and I will not get back to the TV until approx. 1 ET. In NO WAY is this acceptable.
Who wants to start a petittion?
P.S. The game against Ohio has no issues as soccer is postponed for Turkey Weekend (WHEW!)
November 14th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
that we didn't lose a noon kickoff game this year ... until you started coaching soccer.
Maybe its time to resign your coaching position.
Go Blue!

When our boys were about ten, we told them they had to choose between soccer and Michigan football games. Harsh, I know. Lucky for husband, they picked football. Never had to miss another game and when it came time to choose a college, they couldn't imagine being anywhere but the Big House on Saturdays!

I was really worried about that . . . .
November 14th, 2011 at 3:06 PM ^
I loved the noon games. I don't understand the bitching. We were up at 7:30, tailgating by 8 no matter if it were noon or 3:30 kick, but the noon games just made for a better saturday.
8 - Tailgate
12 - Game
3:30 - find food
??? - nap
7pm - find food
8pm - pregame
Bar
With the 3:30 games there wasn't time to nap, barely time to do dinner, and getting to the bar was a pain in the ass. Set your alarm, drink in the morning, quit your bitching, and beat the snot out of Ohio
November 14th, 2011 at 3:11 PM ^
Agree wholeheartedly here. I hated (still do) waiting for the game until 3:30. It always seems like an eternity. Then by the time it's over I don't have the energy to get myself to go anywhere/do anything.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:14 PM ^
I love noon games. At 3:30 I still have the rest of the day to spend.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:21 PM ^
I am really pissed that neither Nebraska nor Ohio are at 3:30. Like someone else said. We got lights. Let's use them, let people tailgate for a reasonable amount of time, and get the crowd into the game.

I believe its ESPN or the Big Ten that decides our game times.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
Why can't we?
November 14th, 2011 at 4:05 PM ^
For one, there is a B10 rule that does not permit night games in November because of the temps and the increased risk of injury.
For two, in terms of general public interest, for the past few years, the SEC teams have been hot, whereas the B10 has not. Obviously, there are exceptions, but our conference hasn't been keeping pace in recent years.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
We held an outdoor hockey game last December at 3:00 in the afternoon and nobody in attendance froze to death. People who live in the Midwest own lots of cold weather clothing. You'd think the Big 10 folks would know this.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:40 PM ^
weekend should be a 3:30 game. ESPN family of networks SUCKED this year in both the game times and announcing crews. There is no reason that the Nebraska/UM games should not be a regional 3:30 ABC game.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:23 PM ^
and was told a noon start. Spielman and Meyer should be working the game.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:25 PM ^
Are you serious? Having this many noon games is rediculous.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:25 PM ^
LAME! I hate noon starts. My hangover is too deep from Friday night to even give 8AM beers a solid try. FML.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:36 PM ^
Suck it up.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:43 PM ^
This year has had way too many noon games. I am not college guy anymore, i am dude with a 3 year old who wants to get his drink on after domestic duties are ouf of the way for the day. Noon is like right in the heart of the days responsibility, 3:30 and I have done my fatherly thing, the wife can take over and I start my 18 pack and it takes me until the SNF kickoff. Noon is killing my style.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:26 PM ^
I love noon games. Im pretty sure the fans/students will show up on time and be loud since we are playing Ohio and have a good chance to win the game.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:33 PM ^
I heard a rumor (rivals) OSU is going to announce Urban Meyer as head coach of OSU during the OSU bball game tonight. Has anyone heard anything? Links?
November 14th, 2011 at 3:38 PM ^
Dennis Fithian, another Detroit area sports talk radio hack, tweeted it last night. The rumor was for tomorrow night's b-ball game against Florida. Stupid.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:57 PM ^
OSU is playing Florida, the school Meyer was at. Sounds like the perfect rumour to start.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:33 PM ^
As it should be. Michigan-OSU is played in the daytime.
Now students, make sure to get there on time. If you can make it to a 9:00 lecture, you can make it to a noon game against our archrival.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:33 PM ^
If you're an instate student, extend a hand to your out of state friends and invite them over for Thanksgiving dinner so they don't go home and stay in Michigan. I don't want to see a ring of red in the Big House. I don't want to see any red inside the Big House.

"Confirmed: Michigan vs. Ohio State on Nov. 26 will kickoff at noon EST on ESPN or ABC."
November 14th, 2011 at 4:12 PM ^
better be ABC knowing ESPN they'll probably put a big east game on ABC
November 14th, 2011 at 3:43 PM ^
Let's have the noon game discussion again!
November 14th, 2011 at 3:44 PM ^
Correct me if I am wrong, but i believe the OSU game is always a noon game.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:48 PM ^
At least Hoke doesn't have to fast until 8pm anymore.
November 14th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
Search is broken for me too.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:11 PM ^
I hate them for an entirely different reason: Since I have young kids, my wife and I DVR the games, go on a COMPLETE AND TOTAL media blackout and then watch them at night as if it were live (no fast forwarding, other than half time). Media blackout is no easy thing:
At kickoff, the cell phones go off. Ditto my blackberry, home TVs, computers, etc. We do not go to places that have TVs and we do not wear any Michigan-related clothing. We even avoid seeing people who might possibly know the score of the game.
It is hard to do, but it is just too hard to watch the games properly with young kids.
So, for me, a noon start time just extends my media blackout my 3-4 hours. A 3:30 kickoff is easy - just have to be on blackout from around 3:30 - 8ish, but when it starts at noon, it is that much harder.
Obviously, I love the night games for this reason, as well.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:47 PM ^
Do you do this with every game? I did it once in my life. The "touchdown Manningham" game. It was great. Wait.....maybe we should all do this more.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:12 PM ^
aka Bo, would be happy with a noon start. He probably would have preferred 1 pm, but that ship sailed long ago.
November 14th, 2011 at 4:21 PM ^
OSU is always a noon kick. The only year it wasn't was the 2006 game. As for this week, that's a function of the no night game rule, and ABC picking OSU-PSU game as the exclusive 330 game.
