No Coordinator Pressers This Week
Just thought I'd put this out there to avoid a meltdown tomorrow when Heiko does not post coordinator recaps. The Hoke presser today is the only one they are having during the bye week. The normal media schedule will resume next week.
Kinda sucks that we have to wait a week. I really want to see how Borges responds to the game from Saturday.

did not sleep well Saturday night.

He shouldn't have. His playcalling was ... questionable, to say the least.

I understand the bye week changes the timing of the pressers, but it also seems very convenient to me that Borges does not have to face the press after this last game. I'm not saying he should be grilled, I'm just interested to hear his take on some of the decisions he made.

I think this was probably decided before hand and if coaches are out recruiting instead of being at the presser I think that is much better.

quite a few questions about his play calling as well.
October 17th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
Hopefully Heiko will be there to ask questions of interest -- such as, 5.8 ypc, y u no run the ball?
October 17th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
Reading comprehension fail. There's no Borges press conference, how would he ask him that question?
October 17th, 2011 at 1:14 PM ^
he means that at next weeks resumed press conference, Heiko still asks the questions.
If so, you owe an MGoApology, for MGoAssuming, an MGoReadingComprehensionFailure.

We all know what happens when you MGoAssume

No, he should be grilled. That comes with the job. It's easy to do a press conference when your are 6-0, but I want to know how he responds after a loss. He had a horrendous day calling plays, and I want him to own up to that. Denard played poorly as well, so not all the blame should go to Borges, but that 4th and 1 call will stick with me for a while. I

Let's Get Denarded - not looking to start an internet fight, I actaully want to understand the reasoning behind the sentiment that Borges should "own up" to his play calling. What will this do? It won't change the past. Is this to have hope for the future? Is it to feel like you were right about the play calling? What is the reason for saying Borges should publicly make a statement about the quality of his play calling for a specific game? Interested in your perspective.

the beneift of the doubt with the playcalling.
I do think it would be nice to have some insight as to why we weakly attempted (if at all) to keep MSU honest by throwing a screen or something.
Also, I'm sure you all caught this, but Hoke answered the interviewer at halftime about why Devin was coming in to throw so often...he said (paraphrase) he was a little more accurate for the conditions.

Just to acknowledge the fact that he didnt have his best day as an OC. I probably could have worded it better, but own up to it was first thing that came to me.

After a shitty day at work, when I am frustrated. Got hammered.lost.could have made different choices...yadda yadda...i hope my boss doesn't come grill me, because overall I'm way better at my job than people critiquing me on a blog would be at my job.
On another unrelated note.. The swype on my Droid tried to make "shitty" "Shittu" and "grill" "Heiko".

GERG never made a presser either. I didn't miss him at all.
October 17th, 2011 at 5:07 PM ^
but GERG wasn't nearly as good looking as Borges

The coordinators ought to be at the pressers, if for no other reason to show that they're not ducking them. I doubt both Borges and Mattison are recruiting out of town; if they are, they could arrange alternative times to talk.
October 17th, 2011 at 1:19 PM ^
Personally I still am happy they do coordinator pressers at all, considering Brandon's apparent disdain for hearing the fanbase's input.
October 17th, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
The same questions can be asked next week. Plus, if you look at how the posts and thoughts improve dramatically on this board with each day removed from the emotions of game day, the questions stand to be even better next week.
Nobody is ducking anything.

It's going to take a week (at least) to come up with a believable explanation for the 4th and one play call that doesnt suggest him going completely insane when he selected it.
October 17th, 2011 at 1:56 PM ^
This tells me everything I need to know about Borges and Hoke. All that tough talk in the off-season and Borges can't face the press now after their complete imcompetence. Hoke protecting him is ridiculous. Borges is not recruiting this week. They get paid more than half a million dollars a year, they should have to answer for this non-sense. Fans support the program with their donations, buying tickets, gear, etc. They should be held accountable. Even my little sister who is 12 was saying "why isn't the dread guy (Deneard) running the ball".
October 17th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
They're not having a press conference because there isn't a game this weekend. They'll be back next week and surely will be asked questions about the MSU game. It's not like everyone's going to forget about it in one week's time.

being able to grill Borges would be nice, but it's not going to make me feel better. Winning our next 3 (or 5) games, however, would do the trick.
October 17th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
WTF. Do you people really think Borges has never faced the media after a loss. Oh the grilling he would have taken from Mitch, Rosey, Snides and the lot, no way possible Borges could stand up to the onslaught. You people humor me.
