Evening Games Open Thread
This is your open thread for Nebraska's first Big 10 game and any other action you care to watch.
I'm off to re-read the Eleven Warriors LiveBlog. Buckeye tears have been so rare for so long that we shouldn't pass up any opportunity to enjoy them. Combined highlights for both teams included 7 of 30 3rd down conversions, 106 total rushing yards, 3 turnovers, 17 points, and 16 punts. Both teams have good defenses, but ugh, what a mess.

If any of you are drinking on the cliches, Brad Nessler said "Man among boys" w/ respect to Michael Floyd.

John Brantley just mistook his lineman for a receiver and threw to the guy he was blocking. Alabama returned it for a TD. 17-10 Alabama.

Alabama cheerleaders are hot.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
Wiscy and Nebraska look very solid to me. 14-14. We will see who can hold up for four quarters of smash mouth
October 1st, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
Or should you say, 14-13 Huskers
October 1st, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
Wisconsin's bigger runningback is only 215lbs? Usually they have some behemoth who tips the scales at 250+.

Purdue is doing nothing on offense, -5 rushing yards so far. Marve (sp?) is now in, which I guess was the plan all along according to Nesler. Still 14-0.

I hate pulling for Wisc but I just dont want Neb walking into the conference and winning big games.

....maybe we will?

Watching Alabama play football is like watching a machine. They just grind teams into mush. It's really pretty amazing once you get past all the evil.

Saban knows what he is doing and his teams look pretty good when he abuses his roster the way he does.

Taylor Martinez through the air is a disaster.

October 1st, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
I would put the O/U at 5.5
October 1st, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
But make Nebraska have to throw it and they may be in some trouble.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
What's the O/U on Pelini swearing at Martinez tonight?
October 1st, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
Ask Brian Kelly.

Edit: The .gif didn't show up right away for some reason...
October 1st, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
That picture of Pelini looks like some type of animal sucked all of the blood out of his face.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
just swallowed his gum.

Not sure Nebraska had to play much defense in the B12 the past few years.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Uh oh, they're helping John Brantley (FL) off the field. He's headed for the lockerroom, and it doesn't look good. Freshman in now.

When they first announced him I thought it might be Al's grandson.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
I can't wait until we play Purdue.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
Brantley is hurt at Florida and they're going to a true Freshman. Alabama might put up 50+ tonight.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
is certainly getting initiated into the B1G. Doesn't help them much that their defense hasn't shown up yet.
October 1st, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
that was as dominant a 1st half as you'll see from a team not playing minnesota
October 1st, 2011 at 9:55 PM ^
BTN is in the 3rd w/ 9 minutes left for those who aren't interested in the highlights.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
Chris Fowler: "Bo Pelini was livid with his defense." Yes Chris and water is wet.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
Looking like Wisc is going to roll.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
They're putting the hammer down now. Game over if Nebraska can't score here.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
Punt it away. Wilson is going to put another 7 on the board.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
Welcome to the B1G, Nebraska.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
Or playing Kansas anymore.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
Wisconsin looks real, but OSU, MSU and Nebraska are all 2 or 3 level bellow where I thought they would be.

Wisky and Wilson look good. Wilson already has 255 passing yards, 12.5 yards per pass. Nick Toon and Jared Abbrederis are carving up the Husker secondary. Montee Ball is railroading anyone to get into the endzone.
We'll have our hands full when we face them. /seewhatIdidthere?
October 1st, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
Nebraska is overrated...Martinez is not dependable and their secondary is terrible. Wilson is the real deal. I also think Wiscy's D is ok, but not great. Martinez gave the game away.
The team I am almost more worried about is little brother. I thought their D looked really good today until the end of the game when they allowed a TD. Nine sacks.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
Nebraska's defense isn't too special, playing them in late novemer is getting more and more exciting.
October 1st, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
That's a Bucky Asswhoopin. Welcome to the B1G Nebraska.
