When does Lane Kiffin finally get banned from life?
September 26th, 2011 at 10:53 PM ^
Yep. A couple of my friends down here just texted me and told me about this. An extensive money trail is never a good thing.

Rule number 5 - Plausible deniability is your greatest ally (so far at least for Kiffin). The alleged rogue assistant is already out of coaching. We don't know about Rule number 6 whether a burn phone was used by Garza and/or Kiffin, but it looks someone blew it on the rest:
1 Always pay cash
2 Nothing in writing
3 Everyone gets paid (need to do more than just reimburse Will Lyles it would seem)
4 Always pay cash
7 Always pay cash

Hello: Danny O'Brien??
September 26th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Could be. Apparently this is a new investigation/allegation independent of Lane Kiffin. Therefore, the fact that UT purged the athletic department isn't supposed to have any effect. It looks like we might get hit pretty good because of this.

He's also not a good head coach, which makes this all pretty enjoyable.

Scumbags.

I kind of like Rocky Top, its so unapologetically redneck that its charming. Also, before you judge them, go down there for a game day. Thems are good people with great gameday atmosphere.

I lived there for 4 long years

Tennessee people are generally nice, but I have two problems relating to them:
1. "Peyton Manning's Heisman."
2. "The War of Northern Aggression."
September 27th, 2011 at 7:47 AM ^
Yeah...about half of East Tennessee (especially Knoxville) fought for the North. They don't really bring up the Civil War.
<br>However, every time I bring up Woodson's Heisman I definitely get into an argument haha

East Tennessee was definitely pro-Union. Knoxville, not nearly as much. Vested business interests and shit, yo.

You very well could be right. You wouldn't know if by living in Knoxville, though. The largest Union monument in the South is in Knoxville and native Knoxvillians are generally proud of their pro-Union hisotry.

3. Rolled over and played dead against Nebraska after we had beaten Washington State in the Rose Bowl.
4. Phillip Fulmer

Speaking of players taking illegal benefits.

Who would've guessed even 6 months ago that the two words "Yahoo Sports" would send chills down the backs of all programs operating outside of NCAA law. Those dudes have become serious investigative journalists and are seemingly taking down the renegades one violation at a time.

Yahoo Sports Investigators > NCAA Investigators

Whirling through college football, category 5 in Eugene and Knoxville.

Banned from life? I mean yeah he's a dirtbag but that seems a little extreme. It's only football after all.

I live in Nashville and have been to Knoxville a few times. The stadium is cool and the atmosphere was nice. The city itself is lame. Overall I love the south and most of the people are pretty good. However, most UT fans are obnoxious. I think the orange really effects the way they think.

It seems like Garza should have done the brave thing and used the department charge card. Nobody ever reads those statements, right?

I think Kiffin did a great job recruiting ..Top notch and on top of all things NCAA related..I think he did things the right way....Signed Jim Tressel...

Amen! ROCKY TOP SUCKS! My wife is a UK fan and I got to hear that damn song everytime they play each other.

They won't need to ban Kiffin, since he is a pretty mediocre coach. USC might have some problems internally, but they are not going to settle for the poor product he sends out there, regardless of his recruiting accumen,

Dear Gene Smith,
There's a sharp young coach in LA you might want to consider.
