Down go the Irish
USF 23, ND 20
Edit: They finished the game up on Versus, not NBC...hope nobody who wanted to watch missed out.

Some people will say the'd rather ND have come into Ann Arbor undeafeated.
Not me, I love watching the Irish getting knocked off of their pedestal.
And I can't wait to make ND 0-2 next week!
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Does "undefeated" really count if you're just 1-0 with wins over Western and USF? I feel like "two undefeated teams" would have been highly misleading. At any rate, I can't wait to see what we do to them next week.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
I like seeing them lose before us too, but you have to admit how much notre dame dick they were sucking in 2006 is was amazing to just destroy them.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
Can someone please make a .gif of Brian Kelly absolutely losing it after that interception that hit off the WRs helmet?
It was 100% pure Columbian awesome!
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
This also mean ND will come in either really hungry, or down and play not up to thier level. We will have to see how they respond to this.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
I'd have prefered two 1-0 teams, but whatever.

including like 3 in the redzone (one was returned for a touchdown) and missed a chip shot fieldoal.

September 3rd, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
Mistake after mistake. ND turned the ball over 5 times, including three in the red zone. USF didn't play a spectacular game: ND was unable to hold on to the football.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
They couldn't do anything offensively and throw in ST too. It was a comedy of errors the whole game.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
I be like dang...
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
exactly
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:51 PM ^
Imaginary +1 for having the balls to show up after the loss. It shows character.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
ouch!
Lets mess them up more next week
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
But Lou Holtz said they would be in the championship! I just don't understand...
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:52 PM ^
Can't you just let me make fun of Lou Holtz in peace?
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Lou's pick wouldn't have anything to do with who coachs USF would it? Must have been a tough decision for Lou, does he suck up to ND or does he go for his son?
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
And someone else said they don't quit until they win....

hah.
Edit: Did I dream it, or did damefan1 post on here in the past. Looking foward to his remarks.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
Also, I'm not sure there's a coach in America who acts like more of a dick on the sidelines than Brian Kelly.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Which boards are you hitting up?
I wanna make some popcorn and watch!
TWIS should be amazing!!!
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
I can't even imagine what ND Nation is like right now.
Also, for anyone who reads EDSBS, I'm guessing Ancient Chinese Secret is going to have a pretty epic rant with a number of pictures of things on fire.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
This is exactly why I didn't want Kelly within 10 miles of UM's football program no matter how successful he has been in the past.
He is the biggest f*cking douchebag in CFB.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
recruits see that, and start to have 2nd thoughts.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
Nick Saban has something to say about your second sentence.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
I thought his head was going to explode during the game. He got so angry on his own, I was kind of happy about that
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
You actually liked that? There's a line between passionately motivational and abusively unprofessional. I think Kelly was on the wrong side of that at a couple points.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
There is a point in time when kids need a kick in the ass to get them motivated and focused. Sadly by the end of the first quarter that time had come
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
Some kids*
Shit like that would have me considering a transfer. Positive punishment is ideally a last resort.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
Ok and they're free to transfer if they want to. Its not like this is a new revolation with Kelly, he has yelled everywhere he has been. This isn't his first season with these players they know what its like and everyone in the recruiting class signed up for it so thats really all there is to it.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:42 PM ^
Is this from tonight?
Because tonight's freak out after the INT off the helmet was absolutely EPIC.
Please .gif that!
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:57 PM ^
all they do is breed resentment, the kid in this gif isn't going to take a lesson from it. All he will remember is his coach yelling you can even see in the gif the kid turns aside already not listening and blowing off the coach. This is one kid that will not listen to this coach again position coach yes Kelly not so much. Look at the faces of the people in the background. I don't think this dude will be at ND much longer either, ND has the talent but they keep getting the wrong guy as coach it seems
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
but hatred ≠ respect.

Oh man. I'm so excited for UTL. I was actually really worried about that game but jeez. Now I be like dang.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
They were -5 in turnovers and still outgained USF 508-254. I wouldn't draw too many conclusions about how poorly the Irish will perform next week based on this game.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Their turnovers helped pad their stats a little though. They had over 100 yard before USF even touched the ball because of USF's defensive touchdown. At least two of their turnovers were on third downs, so the drive would have ended even if they didn't turn the ball over. Plus, USF was playing with a lead all game. Conservative on offense and playing back on defense. If it was a closer game, I don't think the stats would have been so skewed in ND's favor.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
USF drove down the field and kicked field goals on their first three possessions. Then they sat on a 16-0 lead well into the 3rd quarter. ND scored, got it back, then after the first Rees interception, USF went 86 yards in 13 plays to ice the game.
I think the numbers reflect that strategy/situation more than any Irish dominance.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
Is there anyone more unlikable than brian kelly? Makes their losses that much sweeter.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:52 PM ^
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
Mark Damntonio and Stache Hope - easy!
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
I am so happy Kelly is not our coach! He has been so successful at many stops, I have to admit that I thought he would've been a great fit for Michigan, but......we got our guy. Oh ya, and Denard, too! (Thank Rod!)
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
I loved seeing ND lose. I always love seeing them lose. But they won't turn the ball over 5 times next week like they did tonight.
September 4th, 2011 at 12:13 AM ^
Exactly right. They'll do it 6 times.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
I guess that puts a crimp in 5 star stud QB Dane Crist's Heisman canidacy.
