Damefan1's preview on his NEW(!) blog. Read it while you can, because he's not going to post again unless ND beats Michigan. If ND doesn't beat Michigan, his last post will be about how back USF is/was/wasn't.

USF...USF?....University of Southern Florida?....really?
That is downright hilarious!

I wonder how much money he lost on the game.

thanks for th heads up.

damn, this is the worst news of the night

The all Hype team loses. Notre Dame is always hyped so heavily, but they never seem to do anything to justify being so hyped.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:57 PM ^
Suck it, Irish.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
with Fightin Irish pain and suffering. Can't wait.

ND could not get out of their own way today. It seemed like they were looking past South Florida. Their offense moved the ball well and their D played well. They just had some bonehead turnovers.
Floyd had a big day for the Irish. That 10th year senior receiver from WMU ate our secondary up.
So yeah, I'm concerned.

Notice Chip of oregon takes his player to the side, explains what he did wrong, pats him on the ass and sends him to the sidelines, Brian of ND screams and curses out his player, you could hear the f-bombs on tv! Face fire engine red, god what a prick!
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
Was very NCAA 12 like. Can't tell you how many times I have thrown the ball and it hits the WR in the head because he isn't looking.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
Somebody needs to come up with a Brian Kelly emotions chart as a sign for game day. That would be priceless.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
I started to fear for his health, although one of my Facebook friends noted that a man's head exploding is something that has never happened on live TV, and might be fun and interesting to see.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
My NBC affiliate did not come back after the 2nd game delay.
I'm surprised that ND didn't try to suspend the game and play it later in the season.
Floyd will pose some problems for our secondary. I hope our DL is more agressive and does not get pushed around like they did Today.
I always thought the ND game will be tough, I can see a lot of points being scored. DROB will score on the final drive again and win this game at home. Should be a good game!
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
I didn't see thhe final 4 mins either, I expected them just to call the game with amount of storms coming. Sounds like quite a bit happened at the end though

This is the happiest day for me in recent memory. I hate Notre Dame with an obsessive passion and watching the clock go to zero as they lose really made my day. Our win was also nice, of course.

"obsessive passion' I like that, really drives home the level of hatred

ND was only down 10 after throwing that late int. They get the ball back with 1:20 down 10 still and there was no sense of urgency at all. They gave up when really they could have won. They scored to cut it to 3 and almost got the onside kick if floyd would have went up and grabbed the ball. Wierd ending IMO, but both teams had to have been drained from the delays.

glad they had to finish the game, should give us an edge recovering for next week. our players looked pretty fresh in the post game stuff
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:50 PM ^
I want to see if Michigan's defense can force turnovers against Rees. If ND plays like they did today, with all those turnovers, it'll be the Brady Quinn game all over again. Cue up Yakety Sax.

Honestly, I wish they'd had their bad day against us instead of USF.
They may not be deserving of their high ranking, but while we showed some defensive improvement in terms of aggression this week, we revealed lots of holes, too, and special teams were pretty shaky.
Kelly is a good enough coach to correct some of his problems, and to notice ours and exploit them.
While I don't see this as an automatic ND win, I think Mattison will have his work cut out for him this week. We're going to need way more push uo front on D, and other problems need to be corrected.
I still see potential for a shootout, although I'm encouraged by the downhill running that emerged later in our game.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:05 PM ^
I don't think it will be a shoot out
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
You're right, UM blowout... jk Irish, i think it will be closejust like last year.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
I'm pretty sure we'll give up a fair share of points, I just hope our offense is at its best. should be interesting, but I would take the over against you.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
that the powers that be at Notre Dame have to be somewhat mortified by the antics and the obvious cussing out of and just general poor treatment the players get from Kelly.
He is flat out embarassing to watch.
And as much as i love seeing them lose, you can bet your ass they will not play that poorly against us.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
I can understand, but how can you expect your players to be composed if you are a raving lunatic? There's nothing wrong with yelling. What he did was something more.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
Kelly going nuts, good to know this is catching on.

If I missed this I apologize, but who's going to be starting at QB for the Irish next weekend? I'm assuming Rees?
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
that would be the safe bet, they probably won't announce anything until Monday officially
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
Judging from today's game, they don't have a chance without Rees
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Anyone know if Damefan has said anything about this in blog and/or video form?
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
Notre Dame losses make the baby Jesus smile. It's ALWAYS good when they lose.

Why was Crist pulled? Was he hurt, or did Notre Dame just want to try something different?
September 4th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
He wasn't effective

It could be their best offense and defense since 1994...and they'd still only win around 8 games this year.
