Good Friday Night: What are you drinking??
Well with no wings game tonight, I thought I would scale it back a little and stick to "Old Faithful" and stick with Jack Black Label.
What say you?
Edit: Also if anyone has information on Jolly Pumpkin and if they can ship to New York, I moved recently and am craving some great local beers from back home!

Last night in Ann Arbor for my freshman year, so I'm watching Space Jam with my hall mates with a case of Bud Light. Doesn't get much better than that.
Ann Arbor, I will miss you. Until sophomore year starts..

That was the fastest year of my life... Can't believe it's gone. I never wanna leave this place

Every year at U of M is like that. I feel like my 4 years were 4 minutes.
Damn, I miss college.
I just turned in my last thing. I ought to be celebrating, instead I want to cry into my beer.
was a great year. I'm graduating a week from today, and I am so jealous of you right now.

There are few times in your life more melancholy than right before your college graduation. You'll see most of your friends from time to time, but it will never be the same, and you know it. Savor every moment, then let them go.

I have to say that being deployed brings a lot of the same feelings as you just described. Obviously, in the situation I outlined it's a matter of life and death so you have to bond quickly with comrades. However, each gives us memories that we will cherish and others that I am sure aren't so fond. All these memories should be savored.

Was spent at the Silverdome attending a U2 concert (Joshua Tree tour, which REALLY dates me) with my best friends. Unforgetable night.

"Hair of the dog" calls for a Blood Mary (Bloody Caesars are actually tastier, but whatever) and a good breakfast.

Drinking a St. Pauli Girl while writing a 12 page paper on a topic I am clueless about. Why don't professors ever let us write on Michigan Football?
April 22nd, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
Writing a 6 page paper that I know nothing about and that I started today and is due first thing in the morning. Luckily this is my last class of grad school hopefully, haven't really counted credits. I'd be happy if professors let us write about any sport, even cricket.

As I won't be able to partake. I'm pretty high on Vicodin right now, and I don't want to take a chance on not waking up tomorrow. Had a troublesome wisdom tooth pulled by an oral surgeon that happens to be a U of M grad no less. He commented on my varsity style U of M jacket, and went on to tell me that he played football there. He was recruited by Bump during high school, but wound up being coached by some other guy he arrived on campus. He told me some pretty cool stories, and offered some sound advice as far as my ongoing education before he realized he had another patient to see. Really nice guy and good at what he does. It kind of sucks that he's not my regular dentist.

Only the bottom ones emerged from the gums. The top ones are still in there, back behind the molars. It sucks afterwards because food keeps getting caught in the sockets and you have to be super-careful when eating and making sure nothing is trapped in there overnight. That's probably more detail than you wanted at this particular moment but remember, your gums will eventually heal.

Mine was at the top, so when he was pulling on it, I felt this unbelievable pulling sensation in my sinuses. I thought that, along with the crackling noise was kind of cool. Thank God for for local anesthetics.
April 23rd, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
I feel you. Ditto for me. It took a few weeks for the pockets to heal. If food gets caught, it hurts like hell. It makes you want to drink.... Eh, and why is that so bad afterall??????
I just tried my first Sam Adams IPA. Like all IPAs this is very hoppy but SA IPA leaves more of an after taste. i cant say that this beer is bad because I would get negged for an oxymoron (there is no such thing as a bad beer in this universe).
My wisdom teeth removal was pretty epic. I chose to use the local anesthetic, so they injected me with it and oral surgeon started the removal process within the a minute or so. I did not know what effect the anesthetic would have on me so I thought that a little bit of pain was going to be normal for this type of procedure. While removing my bottom wisdom, the DDS took a saw to me and boom, pain. Apparently, the DDS did not let the anesthetics set in long to numb the area. Therefore, the DDS rushed to inject more anesthetics to numb the area to continue the job.
(rest of story, I did not take any vicodin prescribed to me or any pain relievers during my "recovery")
About a half hour after the procedure, I had to go take a microbiology exam which was fun because I was drooling all over the place and all over my answer sheet.
About 1.5 hours after the procedure, being foolish and hungry, I went and ate a 1/2 pound burger with everything on it but it was by far the best burger I have ever had. I think I impressed the waitress with my manliness.
Next day, I had to work a 12 hour shift as a server and from what I was told, the busiest time of the year for the restaurant and my manager wouldn't let me off.

Got an email from the noting they were about to release Biere de Mars this week, it is a crazy weird spring beer that I tend to enjoy before the summer gets in full swing. Also could go from some Maracaibo Especial.
