Very sad indeed. The things this man and his family have done for the community, the university, and college football are vast. I refuse to remember JoePa in a negative light regardless of what others say. I believe he was put in a no win situation and did what was best for his family. JoePa is an icon and should be remembered as such. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. |

The biggest factor for me in showing the pass was incomplete is that the ball rotates in his hands when it makes contact with the ground. If you watch the stripes on the ball from the outside of the endzone cam it shows the stripes rotate. Thus the ground causes the ball to dislodge from possession upon landing. If the ball is loose and rotating in his hands when he comes down. and the ball hit the ground that is an incomplete pass |

There's some great plays talked about here and most are more than worthy, but I am going to draw from something a little more subtle. Jake Ryan knifing into the backfield vs. Notre Dame to complete the stop on a drive that could have salted the game away and possibly changed the whole outlook for the season. It's been a long time since I've seen our D make game saving plays on a regular basis. Without Hoke, Mattison, and this D....this whole year turns out much differently. Even with Denard and Co. on the other side of the ball.
