I see him getting mock…

I see him getting mock drafted incredibly high. I just don’t see it. Good? Yes. Elite elite? No.

Yeah, Iowa with more than…

Yeah, Iowa with more than those two programs is a vibe.

Pretty wild really now where…

Pretty wild really now where kids can get recruited, wined and dined, paid, told how great they are…more than once.

I have kids this age - it’s all about appearances and hype and followers. Hard to identify with.

Washington.

I dislike…

Washington.

I dislike pretty much any and all things Texas, including the sports teams and certainly the Horns.

Fair, Squirrels.

My point…

Fair, Squirrels.

My point is that truly top guys or potentially top guys - up and coming guys - are hitching themselves to a coach with a very poor track record at Michigan of being a good leader, boss and/or collaborator. He’s been a mess since he’s been here. And his approach appears incredibly grating. That’s speculation on my part.

I can’t see any top flight…

I can’t see any top flight assistants coming here. If they are solid, they will leave because Jim burns people out and most don’t want to be here long term.

If they are average or worse, they hang around because Harbaugh doesn’t like firing anyone, no matter how bad.

So you get no name position coaches as coordinators and hope they work out.

I am stunned how far we’ve fallen.

Embarrassing. Flat out…

Embarrassing. Flat out embarrassing.

Wonderful. Thanks for…

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

How can anything other than…

How can anything other than recruiting be at the top? We just had a great defensive mind in Don Brown - when Vince Gray is left on an island, you get got. The end.

Alabama adjusts scheme constantly depending on the talent (admittedly, very good talent across the board). But they don’t recruit to a scheme - they recruit top guys and adjust.

Recruiting is job one. Everything else is a distant second.

And, boom.

The cheating…

And, boom.

The cheating narrative just adds to the mirage that is “everyone except us cheats and that’s why we don’t win football games.”

Just stop.

This is bush league for the…

This is bush league for the kids. Treat them with respect instead of jerking them around. UM doesn’t deserve top classes because they are too busy controlling the message and the brand. Pure shit.

This thread is wild. It’s…

This thread is wild. It’s like fantasy football and Madden franchise mode rolled up into one - who do we know who played here that we can bring back as a coach (never mind his coaching expertise or experience) to save us + which current P5 coach will jump at the chance to be an assistant at the vaunted Michigan program? Wow.

Is there any scenario where…

Is there any scenario where they could stay?

This is it. The culture of…

This is it. The culture of the team sucks, and that’s on Jim. Guys don’t want to stay here, don’t play hard, look disengaged. It’s on Harbaugh. His staff is terrible, that’s on the HC.

My son has been watching the UM football Amazon series - I’m amazed at how engaged Harbaugh seems compared to now. He looks like a zombie today. Weird then and still weird, but at least he looked like he wanted it.

Bleh. What a massive…

Bleh. What a massive disappointment this coach has been. I would have never guessed this is where we would be six years in.

I am amazed at the joy this…

I am amazed at the joy this brings the fanbase.

Season sucks, Harbaugh needs to go, but I want the team to compete, not avoid tough teams/games.

This blows.

The majority of this fanbase…

The majority of this fanbase deserves 8-4 or 9-3 every year. Reading this and the Campbell thread has been...enlightening.

Watching Texas lose reminds…

Watching Texas lose reminds me how tough it is to get the right guy. Texas has unlimited resources and Herman was a hot name several years ago...and yet, he’s struggled to get the program to elite status. I have mixed feelings about Campbell but I am certainly over the Harbaugh experiment.

Why in the world does the…

Why in the world does the NFL allow the Lions to keep the thanksgiving game? What an embarrassment to the league.

Good god, the stench of…

Good god, the stench of sanctimonious perspective is thick in here. Just call it what it is - you, the spectator, don’t want your entertainment to change or be compromised and you give no thought to the performer.

All this “old school” or “quit on your team” rubbish is laughable.

I used to be firmly in the…

I used to be firmly in the Harbaugh-is-meddling camp, but the more I watch this team, I’m not so sure.

Part of me wonders if Gattis knows *plays* but struggles at calling the entire game. Harbaugh isn’t an idiot nor is this his first coaching rodeo - even with a different offense, I somehow am coming around to him trying to help a first time OC.

The getting too cute in the red zone? I mean, how could a seasoned play caller make those gaffes? That’s stuff you call when playing Madden - or maybe when you’ve only had your own show for 1.5 seasons.

I could be way off but I am beginning to think Gattis sucks as a gameplan designer and play caller.

What we have not done is…

What we have not done is hired a top flight coach who can compete with leaders on a national level AND build a program culture alums appreciate. It’s been one or the other, or neither.

100% this.

Enough with…

100% this.

Enough with prioritizing former UM people. It’s stupid and myopic.

Get the best staff, no matter where they are from. Hart’s running game is non-existent today. No thanks.

Not trying to be a dick, but…

Not trying to be a dick, but what are the “institutional issues?”

Poop and farts, indeed.

Poop and farts, indeed.

This team sucks.

This team sucks.

Pass on Hart, at least right…

Pass on Hart, at least right now.

Poor preparation, weak…

Poor preparation, weak gameplan, lack of talent at key positions, inept coaching adjustments, no energy. That’s how we lost to Sparty.

What “dignity and self…

What “dignity and self-respect?” Getting blown out by OSU every year? Gross.

Who are these infamous …

Who are these infamous “powers that be?”

School admin? That’s been changed over. AD? Changed a few times.

So....boosters? Alum? Ex-coaches (e.g. Carr)? I call BS. If Jim gave them the middle finger and won a national title, would these same force be complaining? No.

I don’t get it. “They won’t let this person be successful” is horseshit. Jim has shit the bed and not because his AD won’t allow him to recruit. That’s not why we get finger banged by Sparty and bullied by IU. The games were lost because the game plan sucked ass and the players did not perform. Harbaugh is his own worst enemy and the game has left him behind.

Fuck all this noise about outside forces. Prepare and coach to win, or GTFO. Don’t care if you played here.

Why argue against changing…

Why argue against changing of an informal name of a game like “Civil War?” I mean, my god, do you REALLY want to advocate FOR that name? Is it truly that important to you for that name to remain? GTFO. “Tradition” is such bullshit.

Maybe he wanted to coach at…

Maybe he wanted to coach at a place where they regularly compete for championships. Can’t kill him for that.

Good. The NCAA sucks ass.

Good. The NCAA sucks ass.

No flow to this game.

No flow to this game.

This orange floor and bright…

This orange floor and bright pink lighting sucks ass.

And make a GD basket, for the love.

Pass.

Pass.

Horse shit. This guy has…

Horse shit. This guy has been here less than a year. He doesn’t know anything about the “rivalry.”

But what he DOES know is winning. He came to OSU to win. He can say whatever he wants at this point.

Have to extend him, but it…

Have to extend him, but it certainly seems like just giving in to losing 2-4 games per year and not beating OSU. That’s the record, that’s the trend, and that’s reality. As much as I hate it, no one else is coming in here to do any better. Harbaugh has proven he will adapt - I sincerely hope he does the same on the recruiting trail. That’s the biggest issue he’s facing.

He has been the absolute…

He has been the absolute perfect Sparty coach. Loathes Michigan plus has had success against them - has used those two things in totally galvanizing the fan base. Good coach who fell into the luckiest run in the modern era of B1G football. Had a five year run that will forever be held up as the glory days of MSU football. I happen to think he is disingenuous and two faced personally but that sells well in CFB when you win. When you don’t, it’s a bad look.

If nothing else, a win would…

If nothing else, a win would made the OSU game more compelling and would have put UM squarely in the conversation.

I’m still pissed we didn’t…

I’m still pissed we didn’t beat PSU.

USC sucks ass. Terribly…

USC sucks ass. Terribly coached.

Whoa. Best of luck to the…

Whoa. Best of luck to the kid. Glad they caught it now. Sucks for him.

I’m here for it.

I’m here for it.

This is it right here. These…

This is it right here. These guys aren’t dumb - they’re being coached on the field and off, so they know where they stand in going pro. It would be a terrible class to enter if you had something to prove like DPJ, since his production at Michigan has been fairly pedestrian. He is a freak athlete, which can help at the combine, but among that group of listed WRs, they are mostly all freaks of nature.

THE state of Ohio has better…
  1. THE state of Ohio has better talent - and one big-time CFB team - than Michigan.
  2. OSU wins big consistently and has a history of winning that draws big talent.
  3. OSU seems to have better overall recruiting-oriented coaching staff. UM has some duds.

How to fix the gap? Win and keep winning. What other story can UM tell in a compelling way in a high schooler's family room than "come here to win championships, then go to the NFL" - that's what OSU can do.

It wouldn't surprise me to…

It wouldn't surprise me to see Milton leave if/when DCaff wins the job, especially with the QB's coming in behind him. So that would mean: Dylan, McNamara, Johnson
